About: Hello! My name is Karissa and I am a big animal lover. I've had dogs and cats my whole life, and have always enjoyed spending time with and caring for them. I have trained and competed in agility with my Australian shepherds, and I have worked with and trained dogs of all ages. I have also cared for and loved many cats (both my own and for clients and friends). When I played varsity polo for Virginia Tech, my team was charge of all aspects of care for our 16 horses during the school year. I have ridden and cared for over 100 horses since I was young. Through these experiences, I have administered medications, handled behavioral issues, fed a variety of foods, and cared for and diagnosed illnesses and injuries. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, cared for, and loved while their favorite people are away. Your pet should feel like they are on vacation too! I am available and excited to care for your pets on any schedule that works best for them! My schedule is quite flexible right now. Because I offer care in your home, I strive to ensure that you and your pets feel safe, respected, and cared for. I emphasize safety, privacy, cleanliness, and happy animals. Especially with the temporary change in caregiver, I believe it is extremely important to maintain the routine your pets are used to while you are away, with maybe a couple extra treats (with permission, of course) :) Above all, I adhere to the care rules and instructions given to me, because you know your pets better than anyone.

About: I am a life-long dog owner and lover. In the past few years I have helped raise multiple puppies and been a professional pet and house sitter. I have cared for dogs of all breeds and sizes, from teeny tiny to 130+ lbs ! I love going on walks in nature and making sure dogs get sufficient exercise and mental stimulation. About: I grew up with many animals in our household from dogs, cats, turtles, birds, fish, and bunnies and always had a unique connection to them. I have an innate empathetic understanding with them. I have experience with training younger dogs, as well as taking care of elderly dogs. I have experience providing necessary medication if needed, as well as lots of love and snuggles and adventurous hikes or leisurely walks for elderly animals. Currently I have a cat and would love to have another dog but for now getting to take care of other people's dogs or cats would satisfy my desire to be around lots of animals. I am currently a full-time student and I work remotely online so my schedule is flexible and I can work from anywhere. I would prefer to watch dogs and cats in your home. I like to communicate with the owner of the pet and get a clear understanding if there is a particular feeding or walk schedule, as well as if medications are required, or crate preferences. I am happy to send a photo of your animal baby each day if you like daily check ups. I love communication so trust and understanding are developed between myself and the owner.

About: I have done about 50+ petsits including 3 farm sits (MY FAVOURITE!) I love hiking, long walks and snuggling at home with the fur babies. I was outside of the US and have met clients outside of the app while traveling, that is why my reviews here are not recent. I can offer recent references from the past few months from my pet sitting clients. ❤️ I am still available to book here. I call the animals I take care of "my babies." I can run outside with the dogs 3 hours per day. I am a homebody and work online, so for me it's heaven to be inside the home with beautiful pets. That is actually my idea of a dreamy day. I would be a great sitter for an animal who wants lots of company or who isn't used to being alone. I can be out less than 2 hours per day if requested. I also respect the space and preferences of animals. I think about making them happy first, not them making me happy. I love long walks and making sure Dogs who need to run off leash, do so. I also love playing games like tug of war and fetch. I'm able to spend several hours per day to play with and excercise the Dogs. I research about each breed before I accept the sit and I now have experience with different breeds. I send photos and videos every day. You may have to tell me when you think it's too much. I filled up a lot of my memory on my phone and solid state drive with the pets I've taken care of, but I can't delete the photos. It's like deleting photos of your kids. Not possible. Excited to hear from you. I sure have enjoyed the love of pets and I hope to be able to continue enjoying caring for pets. Amazingly. I work better when there are pets around. I already prefer to be home. I'm the type of person that reminds myself to go out of the house and be among people. The one thing I am good at is taking walks every day, so that habit also works well when I'm taking care of Dogs who like walks. I could walk a Dog more than their used to even, if the owners thinks it will make them happy. I am used to preparing special foods for Dogs and Cats, being sure animals don't escape. I would say I go into Mommy mode once I'm with the animals. When there are more than two pets in the house, if I snuggle with one, I will then go to snuggle and give attention to the other one. If the other animal loves playing fetch, I may snuggle the animal, then play fetch after. I don't play loud music around the animals. Although I also don't like loud music when I'm alone .
