“We couldn’t be happier with the care Niko received! From the moment we met, it was clear he was in great hands. We got regular updates and photos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Niko came home happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. It’s obvious that they truly love animals and treat every pet like their own. We are so grateful for the attention, patience, and kindness they showed him. We will absolutely be booking with them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring pet sitter!”

About: About me: I have time & quality care to give to the pet(s) you love while walking or pet/house sitting because I'm an online college student. I have 22 years of dog, cat and other pet care experience to include pet walking, training, transporting, vet visits & pet/house sitting listed in detail below. I'm starting in the job field of Animal Behavior on completion of my college degree. My previous career of 21 years was in oceanography, & I look forward to giving your pet the love and attention they deserve. Experience in DOG CARE: In the last 22 years, on the side of my regular job, I have been trusted by family, friends and new clients via word of mouth to pet sit for canines of all sorts to include senior dogs, dogs with cancer, high energy dogs, shy and nervous dogs, a Great Dane, puppies and multi-pet households. Experience in CAT CARE: I've been cat sitting for 21 years for senior cats, cats with diabetes, cats with swimmer’s syndrome, one cat in a wheelchair, shy cats, active cats, multi-pet households, hairless cats, indoor/outdoor cats, indoor only cats, outdoor only cats & kittens. ADDITIONAL PET CARE: I also have 22 years' pet sitting experience with other pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, fresh water fish, turtles, geese and pigs. In my free time, I've rescued, rehabilitated, trained, fostered and been a pet owner to both dogs and cats in Texas, Virginia, California, Hawaii, Spain and the Kingdom of Bahrain. I have also volunteered at animal rescue and no-kill shelters in all of those places as follows: Humane Society, PAWS of Texas, Hawai'i Bird Rescue, Hawai'i Marine Animal Response, Rota Animal Welfare League Spain, and Bahrain SPCA. I am available for walking, pet/house sitting, pet care, vet visits, pet transportation and moving because I'm a full-time online university student. I have my own reliable transportation to come to you, but I do not have the availability to board animals in my residence at this time. My goal is to keep your pet(s) in their routine with the same worry-free, stress-free care as you have set up for them for walking, pet/house sitting, pet care, vet visits, pet transportation or moving. I have my own reliable transportation to come to you. I offer pet transportation in my own vehicle as well, but I do not have boarding facilities available at this time.
“Rune has been having a great time at daycare! Paige and her husband have taken time to bond with her and get to know her to make her comfortable. This has been a great solution for when I’m at work all day!”

About: Hey pet parents!! I’m a passionate animal lover with experience caring for dogs of all personalities and needs. Over the years, I’ve fostered rescue dogs, volunteered at animal shelters, and helped care for both reactive and mellow pets. Working with rescue animals has taught me patience, attentiveness, and how to create a calm, safe environment for every pet. In addition to pet sitting for friends and family, I’m also a pet photographer, which means I work closely with dogs and cats of all temperaments on a daily basis. From energetic puppies to shy or anxious pets, I’ve learned how to read body language, build trust, and help animals feel comfortable in new environments. I have experience with daily walks, feeding routines, medication administration when needed, playtime, and providing lots of love and companionship while owners are away. I understand that every pet is different, and I always take the time to learn their routines, comfort levels, and personalities so they feel secure and cared for. Whether your dog is playful and energetic or more reserved and reactive, I’m committed to making sure they feel safe, happy, and loved. As someone deeply involved in the pet community, I truly treat every animal like family. I’d love the opportunity to care for your pet and give you peace of mind while you’re away! ————— Hola! I currently have a very flexible schedule and am available full-time for pet care. As a pet photographer, I work independently and spend most of my time around animals, which allows me to provide attentive care, companionship, walks, playtime, and frequent updates throughout the day. Your pet will receive lots of attention, patience, and love while in my care. I provide a safe, comfortable, and pet-friendly home environment with a fully fenced backyard for supervised play and outdoor time. Pets are welcome on the furniture and are treated like part of the family while staying in my home. I also have two very friendly resident dogs, Ginger (8) and Jasper (10), who are both gentle and used to being around other pets. I always prioritize slow introductions and making sure every dog feels comfortable and safe. If preferred, I’m also able to crate your dog and accommodate their normal routines and needs.
“Cortney was so incredible with my pups. They are very different and she made them both feel so comfortable, sent lots of photos and tired them out so they passed out when they came home. We’ll definitely be going back.”

“Danielle was wonderful! We met the day before, and she showed me what her home looked like, we talked about Russet’s needs, and he met her dog for an easy drop off next day. She took excellent care of Russet, who got great sun,and sent pictures throughout the day.”

“I appreciate her taking care of my puppy for a few hours. I would definitely recommend. I will keep her in mind if we ever need another pup sitter in the Dallas area. 😊”

Within ten minutes of us dropping off our dogs, she had already sent us pictures and told us she had trimmed their both their nails for us! She continued to send us videos and pictures throughout the day and was great with communication! She’s definitely our new local doggy daycare. She took great care of our pups”

“Joann and her boys were amazing! She was able to accommodate a last minute booking! Cooper was a little anxious at first, but he settled right down as you can see in the photos that Joann was so kind to send to me. We were able to communicate back and forth so we could make sure he was settling in. I will absolutely call her again to watch him the next time we come to town!”

“Kellie and Richard were incredible! Our Jet had a blast with them and they treated him like royalty! We were a last minute booking that need someone to watch him for a few hours while we enjoyed the fair after checking out of our AirBnB. They were experienced, confident and comfortable even with a pup that is attached to me at the hip. It wasn’t easy to give Rover a first go, but after this experience we would do it again in a heartbeat. If Kellie is available, book her! If we are in the area again, we might just see if they are available again!”

“Jaqueline is very communicative and understood everything I told her. My dog had a great time with her at her recent doggy daycare. Will definitely book with her again. I’m very pleased with the way Bailey was taken care of.”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
