About: About me: I have time & quality care to give to the pet(s) you love while walking or pet/house sitting because I'm an online college student. Experience in CAT CARE: I've been cat sitting for 21 years for senior cats, cats with diabetes, cats with swimmer’s syndrome, one cat in a wheelchair, shy cats, active cats, multi-pet households, hairless cats, indoor/outdoor cats, indoor only cats, outdoor only cats & kittens. ADDITIONAL PET CARE: I also have 22 years' pet sitting experience with other pets such as hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits, fresh water fish, turtles, geese and pigs. In my free time, I've rescued, rehabilitated, trained, fostered and been a pet owner to both dogs and cats in Texas, Virginia, California, Hawaii, Spain and the Kingdom of Bahrain. “Kendra is so good with the girls. You can tell they love her. She’s very fast at responding to messages and makes sure my dogs have everything they need. We love her!!”

“Michael is wonderful to work with. He came over for an initial meet-and-greet with our two dogs, including our German Shepherd who can be a bit territorial, and the visit went very well. Michael was patient, calm, and confident, which immediately put us at ease and helped our dogs feel comfortable with him. We really appreciate his willingness to do multiple visits to build trust and ensure a good fit. We’re looking forward to continuing to work with him and feel confident our dogs are in great hands.”

“Without having a meet and greet, Stephen did an amazing job getting to know my dog and allowing adjustment time. He also kept me apprised of all situations and followed all instructions perfectly. He even squeezed in a visit during his lunch hour to accommodate my dogs needs.”

“Christina is AMAZING. My puppy-love, Kota, is sensitive and timid, but he warmed up to Christina. She was great with the communication and care. I will book her again and again.”

About: I have taken care of many dogs through out my years from small chihuahuas to Great Pyrenees. I currently own a German Shepherd, Blue Heeler and two Great Pyrenees that I love with all my heart. I have experience with many breeds and also with training dogs. I can potty train them and teach them a few discipline skills like sit and stays and also teach them funny tricks. I have always loved animals and I want to use this opportunity to experience more with animals as a future veterinarian. I believe becoming a dog sitter will help me have more experience with getting to know different dogs. I honestly believe this will be a fun experience to meet new people and their beloved pets.

I am very grateful to Amanda for looking in on my cats on short notice. It was such a relief to know they were being cared for and I really appreciated the pictures of them. Both cats seemed at ease with Amanda and let her pet them. If I have a need, I’ll book her again.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mesquite. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
