Pet Sitting Meriden

About: I just got home from visiting my extended family and miss their dogs. I have been an ‘auntie’ to my parents, brothers and friends dogs for many years. My lifestyle is very flexible. Animals give my life, joy, fun and happiness. My college aged daughter just started using this platform and absolutely loves it! I’m excited to give it a try! I helped my daughters care for their small animals when they were little and living at home. I have helped care for my brothers and parents dogs by visiting and hanging out with them. I spent the last six weeks helping my mom with my dad who has dementia and regularly walked their dog Lucy, who I love and miss dearly.

About: I am a life long cat owner but have a particular love for working dog breeds. I have experience with blue heelers, labs, retrievers, greyhounds, and the occasional Belgian Malinois. I am comfortable walking, playing (including the extra mental stimulation working breeds require), feeding, and administering oral medication to well trained dogs. I am currently a part time student and full time cat owner. Outside of class/travel times, my schedule is flexible. I will only accept work for days/times I can be fully committed to what your pet needs. My two cats aren’t pets, they’re family. They each have their own personality, needs, and forms of communication. My older cat loves her sunny spots, chin scratches, cardboard scratching sled, and mint-sticks but will never chase after a toy (just treats). She has her routine and sticks to it. My younger cat is simultaneously skittish and demanding of butt-pats. I just need to pay attention to what she’s communicating. If it moves, she’ll chase it. Your cat would be like another family member with their own personalities that need to be learned and adapted to. Like cats, dogs have their own personalities and communication styles that need to be learned and understood. But there are also extra considerations depending on size and breed. Working dogs need exercise, games, and puzzles to solve. Some breeds just need to know you’re there for them. As a sitter, I would expect the owner to train their dog and make sure they have access to the space they need. As an owner, you should expect me give them the exercise, attention, and affection they need while maintaining the discipline you’ve taught them.

“My good experience with Rainie started from when I corresponded with her when looking for a cat sitter: she responded very promptly and was very agreeable for a meet and greet with my cat. Rainie approached the meet and greet like an interview; she is warm and funny but asked lots of relevant questions about his care and patterns. (He also liked her right away.) She came over when she said she would, and stuck to her word that she would go over at the same time of day in order to provide some consistency to my cat. I felt very comfortable having heard how attuned she was to his needs. All in all I found her very professional and I came home to the litter box in order and the apartment as I left it! I’m very grateful for her help.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life, including anxious, high maintenance dogs. Experienced with multiple dogs, I provide patient, attentive, loving care and constant supervision. I’m currently moving to Maine from Vermont and have plenty of time to give your pup the attention they deserve! While I’m looking for a part time job, my schedule is very flexible, so I’m available most days and times for pet care. I have a fully fenced yard and a very energetic one year old pup, so your dog can enjoy plenty of playtime, exercise, and cuddles throughout the day. I love taking long walks, so keeping active won’t be a problem! I’ve also worked on leash training with my own dog, giving me experience handling dogs that pull or need a little extra patience on walks.

About: I have had dogs my whole life. I worked at a doggy day care facility for 5 years and gained a ton of experience with dogs of all sized and temperaments! We have had 10 foster dogs in recent years who have taught me a lot! My current dog keeps me very active and we love long walks, hikes and the beach! My schedule is currently wide open. My dog is my everything and yours will get the same love and care while with me! We do long walks when temperatures allow and brief outdoor breaks during the day to stay cool and get in some exercise! I live in an apartment that is very walkable and has many parks around! My dog is a great playmate for other female dogs, and does good with most boys as well. We love long walks on the many trails in the area and love to explore!

About: I can RUN or WALK your dog! I have owned/looked after pets my whole life (small, medium size, large dogs and cats). I absolutely love all animals and am an extremely dependable, trustworthy and communicative person. Being a fitness enthusiast I am willing to run with your pets or throw the ball if you want them to get tired out! My schedule is extremely flexible. I am going back to school to get my masters in Nutrition Sciences and currently work in the kitchen at a Presbyterian/St. Lukes Medical Center in Denver. Playing division 1 sports in college taught me so many things including being diligent and extremely hard working. I will always be on time and conscientious of the details that are so important to your pets' needs. I can't wait to meet you and your little friend if you will have me! About: Dogs bring such joy! I believe they are gifts and we are lucky to have them in our lives. We currently have a spoiled Australian Shepherd. I have learned so much as an Aussie mom, and love sharing helpful info with other dog parents, especially if they have a herding breed. I love all dogs, no exceptions! They deserve to be spoiled and appreciated for who they are. I offer pet care in your home, where your pet is most comfortable. I also have my own pet care insurance, and am pet CPR and First Aid certified. I work full time in the upper valley and have a flexible schedule that allows me to work from home several days a week. If you have WiFi, I’m happy to work from your home to accommodate full-time snuggles and care for your pet while you’re away! I believe that dogs are part of the family. I love spending time with them, walking with them and helping them to socialize. They are gifts!
