Jordan from Rover was awesome!! The dogs liked her right away and had fun playing with her even when the outside weather was lousy. Her messages to us were great and we knew that everything was ok with our dogs. Will definitely call her again when we go out of town!

Abby is quick to respond and is a great communicator. We had a meet and greet before my time away, she met my 3 cats and learned their routine and listened to my care instructions. I got messages and pictures daily. I came home to a clean apartment. She went above and beyond. She took out my trash and swept up around the litter robot. This made my arrival home after 13 hours of travel easy and a relief! She was diligent to make sure the litter robot had enough litter, the water drinking fountain had enough water and my kitties got play time. My pets and home were in great hands. I highly recommend Abby for any pet sitting needs.

About: I have volunteered at animal shelters in WA and worked alongside animal behavioralists to read canine and feline body language to gauge interests, anxiety, and pain levels. I love being able to help my client’s animals reach relaxation without being over stimulated. I’m versed in enrichment activities that alleviate stress and help the animals reconnect with their playful, trusting side! I love to make animals feel like they have a new trusted friend while their pet parents are away and to provide care that makes their owners feel like they're with family. (Disclaimer: I have a full time job working graveyard. Please keep this in consideration if you're looking to book in-home overnight pet-sitting. Thank you! Feel free to message me questions.) I live near Hanover and have reliable transportation. I have no conflicting agenda items or holidays in the near future. I do gig work to help support my best friend going to Dartmouth and have a flexible, open schedule. I try my best to plan outings with pets when the weather is best for their paws and especially if the dog is a breed prone to heat or breathing issues. I have had animals all my life of various breeds, ages, temperament, and unique needs. I have knowledge and experience through my animal shelter work on what silent pain signals or distress can look like in dogs and cats. I've administered medications before but would prefer to let the animal get to know me before providing injections. My preference is to have a meet and greet with your pet(s) ahead of the scheduled outing so they may acclimate to me and to have a brief in-person discussion to go over the scope of the service you wish to see.

We came to vacation in Nags Head and needed a sitter for our young (and recently adopted) dog while we went to dinner. Meagan did a great job keeping her calm, took her out a few times and got her to eat (which we had also been struggling with). Would book again!

Samantha is the best!! I was in a tight spot on finding a sitter and reached out to her and she got back right away and saved me. Mav had the best time with her, he’s always doing his little wiggle dance when she walks through the door. I recommend her 100%, you won’t regret it.

About: Dogs bring such joy! I believe they are gifts and we are lucky to have them in our lives. We currently have a spoiled Australian Shepherd. I have learned so much as an Aussie mom, and love sharing helpful info with other dog parents, especially if they have a herding breed. I love all dogs, no exceptions! They deserve to be spoiled and appreciated for who they are. I offer pet care in your home, where your pet is most comfortable. I also have my own pet care insurance, and am pet CPR and First Aid certified. I work full time in the upper valley and have a flexible schedule that allows me to work from home several days a week. If you have WiFi, I’m happy to work from your home to accommodate full-time snuggles and care for your pet while you’re away! I believe that dogs are part of the family. I love spending time with them, walking with them and helping them to socialize. They are gifts!

About: I’ve had dogs for most of my life and have been a trusted pet sitter for family and friends over the years. I genuinely love both dogs and cats-they bring so much joy to my day! About: Hi, I’m Meredith! I work full-time in the dairy industry, but when I’m not at work, you’ll usually find me spending time with animals. I absolutely love dogs, but I’m not in a place to have one of my own right now, so I enjoy using my free time to walk, play with, and care for other people’s dogs. It’s the perfect way for me to get my dog fix while helping busy pet parents! I do have two cats at home who keep me entertained, and I’ve spent my life around animals of all kinds. I helped establish and lived on my parents’ bison farm and still help out there regularly. In addition to bison, I’ve cared for pigs, chickens, and goats, so I’m comfortable around a variety of animals and genuinely enjoy being around them. I also grew up riding horses and have extensive experience handling and caring for them. Being around animals my entire life has taught me how to recognize their individual personalities, respect their boundaries, and provide patient, attentive care. Whether your pet loves walks, playtime, or just having someone to keep them company, I’ll treat them with the same care and attention I’d give my own. I know every pet has their own personality, and I’m happy to adapt to their individual needs to make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family members! I work full-time in the dairy industry Monday through Friday, so I’m typically available for walks and drop-in visits in the evenings on weekdays. My weekends are generally much more flexible, allowing me to accommodate walks and drop-in visits. My schedule is usually consistent, and I’ll always communicate clearly with you about my availability. Unfortunately my apartment complex does not allow me to bring animals to my apartment. However, I am willing to travel to a clients home to care for their animals. I treat every client, their pets and their home with the utmost respect and care.

About: If my rates are an obstacle in caring for your pet then I’m happy to provide a sliding scale and have a discussion upon request. Professionally, I was vet assistant at an animal clinic before returning to farm animal work. At the clinic I learned the basics of animal health care and I learned how to properly handle dogs and cats. Throughout the last twelve years I’ve farm-sat and pet-sat for numerous friends and family members! In the last year I worked at a doggy daycare and worked groups of 11-12 large dogs. I also worked in group of 15+ small dogs and "solos" (highly dog aggressive dogs). Working in that environment took me to the next level of understanding cues and dog behavior. I learned to advocate for dogs, look for health and safety warning signs and how to manage group dynamics. I am currently a *human* nurse and making time for animals because that is where I feel I really come alive. :) I believe that animals are part of the family and I will treat them like so. I have basic experience with dog training and I personally believe that dogs thrive in structured and predictable environments. I love exercising and having fun with dogs, too! I have availability to help you with your pup or cat! Depending on the health of your pet I will socialize and exercise your pet's body and mind and of course offer any snuggles that are welcomed. I love exercising animals as much as it is tolerated by them. I currently work per diem as a staff nurse in Lebanon NH which gives me a lot of flexibility to care for pets. I am happy to abide by your house rules and expectations for your pet(s). I enjoy walks to dog parks, trails, playing in fenced yards and practicing obedience and tricks!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Meriden. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
