In my years of pet sitting for various friends, neighbors, and relatives, I have taken care of dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and horses (and the occasional few guppies:)). Working at a stable for four years in high school also gave me valuable experience in the care and handling of 20+ large animals at a time. I believe dogs need to be social, active, and allowed to live as though they are the most important being in one's household. I work from home, so there are plenty of opportunities for outdoor play in a fenced yard, leashed walks/runs to the neighborhood park nearby, and human companionship. While dogs are in my home, I treat them like my own. They are able to sleep with me, be on furniture, etc. I take them for walks to get exercise. With parent permission I make ice cream treats (blueberries & Greek yogurt frozen together) and give them to the dog. I make sure they feel comfortable, are fed and have plenty of water. If a parent would like me to administer meds or give a bath, I am happy to do so!
