“Lynn was amazing! She went way above and beyond my expectation. I'm extremely protective of my pups and was worried about leaving them, but once I met Lynn and saw how she was with my little guys and with her own "babies", and how secure her yard was, I felt completely at ease and comfortable leaving them in her care. I didn't bring their food with me because we weren't leaving them overnight and they won't eat when we're not there. She made them chicken! which of course they ate right up. This woman LOVES dogs. I will definitely use her again and would highly recommend her.”

“Olivia was great! I highly recommend her! We had a funeral to attend in the Yuba City area and our dog sitter wasn't available..Olivia agreed to watch Bandit with 1 days notice. She sent pictures & gave us updates throughout the afternoon. You could tell she loves dogs! We will definitely use her services again if we ever have a need again for a sitter in that area of California!”

“Great communication, including with a last minute booking. Daman is very friendly and clearly a dog lover. I felt at ease leaving our little guy with her for the day. Sure sent pics throughout and made pickup/drop off a breeze. Looking forward to working with her again!”

“I was very hesitant in leaving my pup due to me never wanting to leave him with anyone , but today I had to leave town for the day.. I felt comfortable leaving macho with her. She sent me pictures and we talked through out the day! My pup never potty outside before , and today he did!! He must of had fun because he’s been sleeping since I got him back lol.”

“Highly recommend Justin and Vanessa! They send plenty of update pics throughout the day. They get plenty of walks and clearly getting plenty of attention and care. The pups agree, they are always happy when I pick them up. Always ready and accommodating for my early drop offs, ready at the gate for pick up and drop off.”

About: Animals have always been a big part of my life, and I truly enjoy caring for them like they’re my own. Over the years, I’ve been trusted by family, friends, and neighbors to look after their pets, and I take that responsibility to heart. I have experience with dogs of all sizes and personalities, including raising a German Shepherd who completed professional training, as well as helping with puppy training and basic obedience. At home, I have two cats, so I’m very comfortable with both dogs and cats and understand the different kinds of care and attention they need. My focus is always on making pets feel safe, loved, and relaxed while keeping their routine as consistent as possible. For boarding, my husband and I create a warm, pet-loving home where animals are treated like family. We both have grown up around pets and genuinely enjoy their company. Your pet will be cared for with kindness, patience, and plenty of attention while they stay with us. When your pet stays with me, you can expect: 🐾 Reliable, attentive care 🐾 Regular photo and video updates 🐾 Plenty of playtime, exercise, and affection 🐾 Respect for your pet's routine and special needs 🐾 A safe, loving environment where they're treated like family Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine because caring for animals is something I genuinely enjoy. I plan my schedule to ensure pets receive the attention, exercise, playtime, and companionship they need throughout the day. Since I already care for my own cats, I'm accustomed to maintaining feeding schedules, providing enrichment, monitoring behavior, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable. Whether it's walks, potty breaks, play sessions, cuddles, or simply keeping a pet company, I make time to give each animal personalized care based on their needs and routine. My husband and I work together to create a calm, loving environment for pets staying in our home, ensuring they receive plenty of supervision, affection, and attention while their owners are away. I care for every pet as if they were my own and always strive to keep them comfortable, safe, and happy. In my home, I provide a clean, calm, and pet-friendly environment where pets receive plenty of attention, playtime, exercise, and affection. I follow each owner's instructions closely, including feeding schedules, potty breaks, medication needs, exercise routines, and any special preferences to help pets feel at home. For pets staying with me, I make sure they have regular opportunities for exercise, mental stimulation, rest, and lots of love. My husband and I are both animal lovers and work together to provide a welcoming environment where pets receive plenty of supervision and companionship. When caring for pets in a client's home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine as closely as possible. I provide feeding, fresh water, walks, playtime, litter box or yard cleanup, medication administration if needed, and plenty of attention and affection. I also send regular updates and photos so owners can feel confident and connected while they're away. My goal is always to reduce stress, keep pets comfortable, and give owners peace of mind knowing their furry family members are receiving reliable, loving care.

About: I have a home full of love to give along with a big back yard for play! Plenty of grass as well as dirt areas for those who like to dig. My senior dog, Charlie, a female terrier mix is friendly and inviting, just as we like to be! I am a stay at home mom so your fur babies will never be alone! Just like my own kids, I understand routine is very important and promise to care for your pets as you would in your own home. There is nothing I wouldn't do to make your fur baby feel safe and secure, as I would accept nothing but the same for my own! About this sitter: A caregiver by nature, I have always had a lot of love to give! Grew up on a farm and can honestly say I have no memories of life without some kind of fur baby in my life. Now that I am creating a home for my own children, I want them to grow in the same atmosphere. Our home will always be open to help and care for anyone and anything in need! I have a pet friendly home with a large backyard to play. My senior dog is friendly and welcoming along with 3 cats who love to do their own thing (all are fixed and well behaved). From snuggling on the couch to crate training, depending on your preference, my home has it all. Not to mention a family of animal lovers to make sure your fur baby gets all the love they could ever want!
“Amber is wonderful! She spent all day dog-sitting my little beastie and even putting up with her messy, water-loving antics at very short notice. Amber sent me videos of Scout during the day so I could see all the fun they were having together, too. What a great first experience with both using Rover and Amber!”

“Cheyenne is an amazing dogsitter who truly cares for her clients’ pets. She gives our dog Charlie so much time, love, and attention every time. Whether it’s taking him on a hike, to the beach, or doing training exercises with treats, I know Charlie is super comfortable and loves spending time with her even though he’s the kind of dog that gets separation anxiety. Having someone as trustworthy and thoughtful to take care of Charlie has made us feel comfortable to go on day trips or longer vacations without worrying about our baby. Thanks Cheyenne! 🙏”

About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and I always will, they’re the absolute best! When I turned 16 I became a puppy and dogsitter for many family friends as well. I know that a happy dog is a tired dog and I strive to do that even with my own puppy and yours will get the same treatment! Of course different dogs have different energy levels and I have experience with large, medium, small; puppies or seniors! I also have some light experience giving medication. I currently have one dog, Marvin, who is a two year old small/medium sized mutt! He loves to play and gets along with all other dogs! We love to go to the dog park, regular park, around the neighborhood, and wherever dogs are allowed and would love your pup to join us! I am currently staying at home while I complete my credential program online so I will have plenty of time to care for your pet! My yard is completely fenced in and we make sure to keep anything dangerous far out of reach of our pets. Of course we will follow any rules you have with your dog but our dog is allowed on furniture and sleeps wherever he wants.

“I tried Rover for the first time yesterday with Ashleigh in Bakersfield. At first, never having done it I was a little worried but Ashleigh was so nice and friendly. She was very welcoming when I dropped off Bella and when I went back to pick her up, I could tell Bella was comfortable in her home. I also found out Bella learned how to use a doggy door which is nice and new. Would definitely trust Ashleigh with my dog again. Highly recommend!”

If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in CA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
