“We can’t say enough about how great Dawn was with our two little dogs. They stayed with her for the first time for 5 days at the end of April. Since both are senior dogs, one is 16 and one is 14, we were a little concerned about how well they would do. And unfortunately, one morning, one of the dogs woke up having some rather serious issues. But Dawn was right on it! She immediately put him in the car and rushed him to MedVet, as we would have done. She called us on the way there, very calmly explained the situation and continued to keep us informed the entire time. She brought him home with medication and continued to give it to him until we could return the following day. All in all, as scary as it was, we couldn’t have asked for anyone to be more attentive or caring. We will definitely be leaving our two dogs with her again and have learned to trust that she is a true and kindhearted dog person. And by the way, all turned out well.”

“We just had our first experience with Roover and booking through Debbie, and I have to say, it was absolutely wonderful! From the moment we reached out until we picked up our furry babies, I was impressed. Debbie was super responsive—almost right away! We received regular updates and adorable pictures of our kids, which made us feel so confident that they were in great hands. I think they may have even been a little spoiled enjoying the beautiful fenced yard! I can’t recommend Debbie and her husband enough, and we’ll definitely be booking again!”

“She took such good care of our dog Buddy. Very thorough and conscientious with their diet medications and especially dogs who are older. We would definitely use her again.”

“Well Sadie must have had a good time she was wore out I'm sure with playing with the children I know she loves little children and dogs everything went well is expected”

“I can’t say enough good things about this incredible couple who care and love my two Siberian huskies Jaden Raiden like they were their own for the moment I dropped them off. I felt completely at ease. They truly love dogs, and it shows in every detail from the daily video updates, which I look forward to every day to allowing them to freely room and play on their beautiful fenced in farmland and even enjoyed their pond. They gave them treats and continued some recall training that I was working on my Huskies came home happy healthy, tired and the best way and clearly well loved. The group playtime was perfect for their social nature and the space gave them the freedom. They thrive on. I’m so grateful for the piece of mind. They gave me while I was away and I will 100% be returning and highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, fun and loving environment for their pups.”

“This was our second time leaving our pups with Avery and her family and we couldn't be happier! The dogs are well cared for and everything is packed up nicely and ready for us upon our return.”
“Joe is so great with my Cavalier King Charles spaniel Bravery. Joe’s dog Bentley is sweet and patient with my outgoing and energetic little guy. I’m always happy that I have someone I trust to leave my dog with.”

“Tara far exceeded our expectations in caring for our 13 year old Goldendoodle. Tara provided incredible care and it’s clear her family is deeply committed to the pets for which they care. We will definitely bring Baylee back, because she already misses them! thank you to Tara and her family!”

“Ainura was absolutely amazing! I had to find a sitter for my new puppy on very short notice and she responded super fast and accepted the job. It was my first time using the Rover app and I’m so grateful it worked out so well. She took incredible care of little Khaleesi and sent loads of photos showing her playing and having a great time for the week. I’m definitely reaching out to Ainura next time I need a sitter :)”

I’ve always loved being around dogs because they’re more than just pets—they’re family. I know how hard it can be to leave your dog with someone else, so my goal is to make sure both you and your pup feel comfortable from the very beginning. I’m the kind of person who enjoys getting outside for walks, playing fetch, giving belly rubs, or just relaxing with a dog that wants some company. Every dog is different, so I’ll take the time to learn their routine, personality, and what makes them happiest. I’m reliable, patient, and pay attention to the little things. Whether it’s sticking to a feeding schedule, giving medication exactly as instructed, or making sure your dog gets the exercise and love they need, I’ll care for them the same way I’d want someone to care for my own. You’ll get plenty of photo and video updates while you’re away, so you can relax knowing your best friend is safe, happy, and in good hands. I’d love the chance to meet you and your dog and become someone you can count on whenever you need a trusted sitter. I work full-time at Amazon, which has helped me become dependable, organized, and great at managing my time. When I’m not at work, I dedicate my time to caring for the dogs in my care. I keep my schedule up to date and only accept bookings when I know I can give your pet the attention they deserve. Whether it’s before work, after work, or on my days off, your dog’s safety, comfort, and happiness will always be my priority. I’ll make sure they get plenty of exercise, playtime, love, and regular updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog in someone else’s care, and I don’t take that lightly. My goal is to make every dog feel safe, comfortable, and at home from the moment they arrive. I provide a clean, secure environment where your pet will get plenty of attention, exercise, and affection. I’ll follow your dog’s routine just the way you do, keep a close eye on them, and treat them with the same love, patience, and care I’d want for my own pet. I want you to feel completely at ease, knowing your furry family member is in caring, trustworthy hands.
“Catherine and Adam were wonderful sitters for our two dogs. They were very responsive, sharing updates and photos, which made us feel so comfortable while we were away. Would definitely recommend!”

“Catherine was wonderful with our sweet, older dog! It took him a little bit to adjust to his surroundings but she was great at communicating with us and did everything to make him as comfortable as possible. We felt very thankful for her extra care!”

“I really couldn't imagine a better sitter for Rayna. Leslie went above and beyond as she had to take Rayna to the vet and ended giving her medication the whole time. I would definitely recommend Leslie to anyone.”

“Krista was a perfect fit for our dog, Zeus! He had fun staying and playing with Stella while we were on vacation and are already booking again for the next trip. We have tried 4 different kennels/ boarding facilities in the past and I wish I would have found Rover and Krista sooner! Thanks for treating our pup like your own!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Martinsville home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Martinsville.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Martinsville sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
