“Melissa was absolutely amazing and a life saver on a last minute request when and emergency came up. She was patient and sweet with Tucker who I know can be anxious and shy. An amazing pet sitter and will be using again in the future! Thank you Melissa!!”

About: I have been raised with a pet by side. When I have born we had two brittany spaniels that have since passed on. In 8th grade, after they passed, we adopted another puppy brittany. A year later, we adopted another, to have our current pair of brittanys. So I have experience raising puppies as well. I play with them outdoors and indoors, brush them, clean up their poop, bath them, feed them, and train them. They also get taken on walks at the local forest preserve for stimulation. I have experience in caring for fish and snakes. Between dogs, I had my cat to keep me company. She is solely my cat, so she got the same attention as the dogs, plus I bought her toys, treats, litter, and food. Outside of my dogs I have pet sit goldens labs, goldendoodles, springer spaniels, and many other breeds. As in my headline, I don't think any animal is low maintenance. That just means the pet isn't getting the care it deserves. I had my cat at my dorm first semester, and I fed her breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I made sure to play with twice a day and we played birds on the tv for stimulation as well. I had a weekly schedule to brush her twice a week, and clean the litter box every Sunday and Wednesday. At home I would alternate playing with my dogs, training, and brushing them whenever possible. I can play indoors and outdoors. I can take the animal for walks. Clean up any potential messes, such as muddy dogs or if a cat has a hairball. I can accompany senior pets that need help eating. I can brush the animal. And feed them, and do basic training.
About: I have had experience with dogs for 18 years, ever since my parents got a dog for us when I was 8 years old and I had to help train it and care for it. Ever since, my family has had more dogs i’ve helped train and care for, and I have had roommates and friends with dogs that I’ve helped train and care for (including puppies, service dogs, and dogs who are elderly/ill). I am a consistent cat caretaker ever since I turned 19, when I got my first cat (7 years ago). Ever since, I have felt drawn to care for kitties and have fostered many kittens and cats since, in addition to caring for my own 2. I owned a ball python for a year or two, and my father has for six years. My sister also owned a leopard gecko for five years. I also cared for multiple guinea pigs to help out a friend for a long time. I’ve also had friends and family that have had birds that I have helped care for in the past, however, I have less experience with them. In conclusion, no matter the type, breed, size, age or health of your pet, it is important to me to make our companions/partners in life feel loved and cared for, and I would be honored to be a part of that! It is a large portion of my daily routine as is, and I would love for it to be an even larger part, especially if this could help provide means to live for my pets and I (finances) because due to certain conditions I am unable to work a normal job. I would care for your pets with kindness, love and patience. If you have any questions or concerns I would love to discuss them and I’m sure we could figure something out!

“Alison took care of my cat, Wolfgang, for 5 days while I was on a cruise in the Bahamas. Everything looked better than before I left. She cleaned out the old bits and pieces of dry food from his 3 cat treat bowls and the litter box was immaculate. I will definitely plan on using Alison again in the future.”

“Lucy was above and beyond! She sent pictures and you could see how happy our dog was. 10 out of 10 and five stars all the way! I highly recommend using Lucy for any dog sitting needs, she is the best!!!”
“Hannah was amazing with our fur babies!!!! We have a special needs pup (and 2 cats) and she took extra time to make sure our pup was comfortable and his needs were met. We were very anxious leaving him for a week long trip when we've never been away that long, and Hannah put him and us at ease with her care and professionalism. Highly highly recommend :)”

“Anna is always so great when she cares for our mini donkeys! Always checking in, taking photos, and making sure our CJ and Penny have everything they need! We really do appreciate it and would highly recommend her! ❤️”

About: I was raised with dogs my whole life. Iv done everything from helping with birthing to providing comfortable space for our fur babies to go to heaven I’m a stay at home dog mom. I enjoy being at home with my fur babies playing outside/enjoying the weather making happy memories and moments I have a fenced yard and two friendly girl fur babies that love to play with other dogs and get zoomies all around my spacious fenced yard.
“Kristen did a fantastic job. She communicated well and took great care of my pup. Easy to work with and definitely will again in the future. I was cautious and hesitant to find someone to come into my home and take care of my dog. Now I have no regrets hiring Kristen and no hesitation using her again in the future.”

About: I love animals and I know people say that but I truly do. I have been working with animals since I could walk and I’ve never not had a pet whether it was a dog cat or hamster I’ve even had snakes. I now have a new dog and a cat and I would love to help others with there animals when needed because I understand completely that it is needed a lot. I currently work in landscaping so my hours are 6 in the morning and we’re usually off by 5 maybe 6 and occasionally I get off earlier or have daysoff. I am also free on weekends I have church on Sundays but that only takes about an hour of the day. I have 2 pets in my own home now so it’s a lot easier to do house sitting instead of in home care and my boyfriend watches my animals while I’m away. I am free to spend the night at anytime and even just sit with the animals for hours on end and the animals will always come first before any other plans.
“Stephanie has been doing a great job taking care of Ghost a seven year old Great Pyrenees, She has been taking him out in the afternoon to potty and walk around. She has brought in packages left outside. She has been very reliable. I highly recommend her to take care of your pet.”

About: I grew up in a household caring for pets of every kind; cats, dogs, birds! Fish! I currently have a puppy of my own and pet-sit often for friends and family as well! I’m working part time, typically no more than three days a week, and taking online classes this summer for college. My availability is mostly during the week, and occasionally Saturdays, starting at early mornings after I care for my own dog Making sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for in the absence of their primary caregiver is my top priority. Having a dog who’s wary of strangers, I understand and am completely committed to doing what I was hired to do and making sure pets get the care they deserve no matter the level of introversion or anxiety.
About: I have been a dedicated dog owner for many years, currently caring for a smart and energetic five-year-old dog who I’ve taught various tricks. My passion for pets extends beyond my own home; I’ve been active on the Rover app for the past three years, gaining extensive experience in pet sitting a wide variety of dogs. I truly enjoy being around animals and am confident in my ability to interact with them. My patience, willingness to get hands-on, and love for walking make me well-suited to provide the best care possible for pets. I recently retired from being an athlete to becoming a photographer. I walk my dog 2x a day. I make sure to play with him and be with him during the days as well. Weekends I usually go on hikes or do something active. As a freelancer, I have a lot of time to take care of another pet. I have a backyard and one super friendly dog that will keep your dog company. I will walk your dog 2x a day and feed him as indicated. I will give your dog the affection it needs while insuring a safe environment. Your dog will be in great hands.

About: Hi! I’m a lifelong animal lover based on a 10-acre homestead in Pageland, SC. I specialize in structured, safe boarding with supervised outdoor time and secure indoor accommodations. We have a brand-new 6-foot wooden privacy fence enclosing our backyard, providing a secure area for dogs to exercise, stretch, and explore during supervised potty breaks and play sessions. Guests stay in our large climate-controlled sunroom outfitted with seven kennels, giving each dog their own secure space to rest comfortably between outdoor time, meals, and enrichment. Crate rotation and routine breaks are built into our daily schedule, ensuring dogs have consistency and predictability. Crate & House Access Policy • Crating is standard when we are away or sleeping, and during rest periods. • Potty breaks are offered approximately every 2 hours during waking hours. • For older, calm, fully house-trained, non-destructive, and cat-friendly dogs, free-roam house access may be considered on a case-by-case basis with owner request and compatibility assessment. • Dogs with separation anxiety, destructive tendencies, or unsafe habits (counter-surfing, door-bolting, etc.) will remain on our structured crate schedule for their safety. Experience & Approach I’ve owned and cared for everything from hedgehogs and geckos to chickens, horses, and working-breed dogs. I’m comfortable with: • Medication administration (oral or topical) • Senior dogs • Puppies & house-training stages • Reactive or shy personalities • High-energy dogs who require clear routines • Multi-dog coexistence and safe rotations My husband runs his own business and is home most of the time, ensuring someone is almost always present for supervision, potty break intervals, and routine care. I am home evenings and weekends, and we work together to provide structure, security, and consistent monitoring. What You Can Expect • Individual crate spaces (no shared kennels) • 6-ft fully fenced private yard • Consistent potty break schedule (≈ every 2 hours) • Supervised outdoor time only • Optional house freedom only if fully compatible • Daily updates, photos, and communication We focus on safe, predictable, and tailored care based on each dog’s needs and the comfort level of their owner. Whether a pup thrives with structured crate rest or enjoys calm, supervised sunroom naps, we tailor stays responsibly rather than one-size-fits-all. I work full-time as an insurance producer in Monroe, NC from 8–5, Monday through Friday. I’m home all day on weekends, and during the week, my husband is at our homestead full-time and helps provide care and supervision. Since we work as a team, your pets will never be left alone for long periods. I’m also available for morning or evening drop-ins and walks depending on location and schedule! We live on a peaceful 10-acre homestead. We do not allow free play with other pets - so you know that your furry friend is safe and sound the entire stay! They will have supervised playtime with other pups from the same household, or with just our staff! Our top priority is a safe stay.

Alison was great with our 2 cats and 1 dog! From the meet and greet she was able to connect with even the sassy cat. Alison took great care of the animals and was even able to medicate one as requested. We would recommend Alison to anyone and hire her again. Thank you Alison!
Allison was absolutely AMAZING with our babies! She watched our 4 cats while we were on a cruise and I cannot thank her enough for how wonderful she was with them. They all seemed to love her, and she loved them. Highly recommend her to anybody who is in search of a wonderful pet sitter!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
