Alyssa was fantastic! I have a house full of different pets, and she did a fantastic job managing all of their unique scheduling and dietary needs. She kept us informed of how things were going, and the house looks like she wasn't even here ( with the exception that she cleaned the litter boxes and took out the trash even though we didn't ask her to do so). Will definitely be booking with her again!

Saskia was an amazing sitter for our 2 fur babies! They took to her the first time they met her, so we knew they would be in good hands. We had Saskia sit for us, bring them to our wedding reception for photos, and stay overnight. She took such good care of our dogs and we were more than pleased with her care!

Sarah and Jim came to our rescue when our previously booked sitter cancelled shortly before our scheduled trip. We are so grateful for their flexibility and the care that they gave to our two senior girls. We returned home to very happy and relaxed puppers! We highly recommend their services!!

About: Hello, Pet Parent! 🐾 My name is Ana, and I’m quite a pet sitter! 😁 Dogs and cats have always been a part of my life. I learned early about their unconditional love and their simple desire to be close to someone they trust—something I think not all humans are capable of. ❤️ I understand that leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful. A lot of the things you worry about are the same things I worry about. Let’s meet in person and talk about it during the Meet & Greet. 🐾 Services I’m happy to offer: 1. Drop-In Visits — Cats & Dogs 🐶🐱 & More 🐠 (+ Amazon packages 😂) Every drop-in booking includes a FREE Meet & Greet*, and 30 (or 60) minutes of care during the visit. 2. House Sitting 🏠 I’m also happy to provide house sitting. FREE Meet & Greet included!* I do have a daytime work schedule, so on weekdays I need to leave your home approximately 7:00 AM–2:00 PM. I will also need to leave the house for a few hours in the evening. This works well for many adult dogs and cats, but it may not be the best fit for puppies or dogs with separation anxiety who need someone home most of the day. 3. Cat Boarding in My Home 🏡🐱 One family at a time. Your cat will have their own private space in our guest bedroom/office (the purple room shown in my photos), with everything they need to feel safe and comfortable. I don’t rush cats into a new environment. I give them time to acclimate and let them decide when they are ready to explore. Once your cat is comfortable and shows interest in exploring, I can gradually introduce them to the rest of the house. Their room will always remain their safe place, and they can go back whenever they want. My own cat stays separately from guest cats, so there is no need to worry about interactions or special food being mixed up. Every cat can have their own routine and feeding area. *The Meet & Greet takes place at your home, where your pet is most comfortable. It gives us a chance to go through your pet’s routine, feeding, medications, personality, and anything else you’d like me to know. I want to make sure I understand exactly what your pet needs and that we’re a good fit. I work part-time and I’m usually busy until 2 PM. I’m available for meet & greets after 2 PM. For house sitting, I’ll be away for work for part of the day, but I’ll be there before and after work to give your pets plenty of attention and care. 🐶🐱 Will accommodate your pet's needs whether at your home or mine. I believe in keeping their life routines as normal as possible while you are away. If boarding is needed, I presently have one cat of my own, so your cat/s are welcome to share our home for awhile (one family's pet(s) at a time).

About: I have experience caring for dogs and cats of all ages and personalities. I previously worked at a boarding dog/cat kennel, where I’ve been responsible for multiple dogs and cats. I’ve also been a pet owner my entire life and currently have a dog and three cats. Alongside having my pets, I have experience giving medication including pills and insulin injections for diabetes. I understand that every pet has different needs, and I’ll make sure your pet is well cared for. I am currently unemployed, so I am very flexible with scheduling and have plenty of time to care for your pet! I do have some nighttime commitments for at most 2 hours twice a week (band rehearsal) but other than that I am free. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my main priorities. I will follow your instructions and your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding times, medications, walks, playtimes, and any other special care they need.

Our pets and home were well taken care of with Shannon! In the past we had difficulty finding someone who actually offers house sitting, and we felt so much more comfortable on this trip knowing our pets were in good hands and never alone for too long. Her updates gave us peace of mind while we were out of the country. We came home to a tidy house and happy pets. 🐾

Sarah is a FANTASTIC dog sitter! I knew when I met her that she’d be a perfect fit. She was kind and gentle with my dog, and brought a clipboard with questions which just showed how serious she was about giving the best care to my pup. During the stay I got lots of updates and cute photos and I could tell that my dog was so happy, got lots of exercise, and was very adequately snuggled ?? I will definitely book Sarah again. 10/10 would recommend!

About: Hello! I’ve been caring for animals for many years and have experience with both cats and dogs. I currently have two cats, and I also had a wonderful dog named Morgan, so I understand that every pet has their own personality, routine, and needs. I’m patient, reliable, and happy to adapt to whatever makes you and your pet feel most comfortable. If you’d like me to meet your pet before the booking, I’m more than happy to do so. If your pet prefers a calm environment, extra playtime, a specific routine, or simply someone to keep them company, I’ll gladly follow your instructions. I understand how important it is to maintain their normal routine while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and happiness are my top priorities. I’ll treat them like they’re part of my own family and keep you updated with photos and messages so you can have peace of mind while you’re away. I’m available for morning, afternoon, and evening visits, including weekends. Feel free to reach out, and I’ll do my best to accommodate your preferred schedule. Your pet’s safety, comfort, and well-being are my top priorities! During every visit, I’ll carefully follow your care instructions, including feeding, providing fresh water, cleaning the litter box (for cats) or picking up after walks (for dogs), playtime, administering medications (if needed and with clear instructions), and maintaining any special routines. I’ll always respect your home, keep doors and windows secure, and make sure your pet is safe and comfortable before I leave. I’m also happy to schedule a meet-and-greet beforehand so your pet can get to know me and we can go over their routine in detail. I’ll send regular photo and message updates so you can have peace of mind while you’re away.

About: I am a trained and certified k9 trainer with experience in basic and advanced obedience, behavior modification, odor tracking and an affinity for stray dogs. My partner is a chef who shares that affinity and we have a 4 yo little human whose almost as obsessed. Retired vet in school but my schedule is flexible so I can around most things. My partner is also available for pick up and drop offs if im not. I have multiple sized indoor and outdoor kennels and playpens for your pup, along with dog runs, my property is fenced in on most sides. All dogs are put on a run unless specifically trained by me. Jaclyn is amazing! She went above and beyond to help out with a last minute request after losing our regular sitter. She took amazing care of Rory, and was really respectful of our home — everything was so clean I almost didn’t believe she stayed here! Lol She was easy to communicate with, responsive, and flexible, which made everything feel really easy and stress-free. Most importantly, our dog was happy and well cared for. We’ve found our new sitter!

About: I’ve cared for dogs and cats of all ages, from energetic puppies to gentle seniors and I treat every pet like my own. I’m reliable, patient, and always focused on keeping pets comfortable. With experience in walks, feeding routines, medication support, and giving plenty of affection, I make sure every pet feels at home while you’re away. I am currently home from college so I’m pretty much free all week days! But I will do my best to always be there for your pet! I have four dogs at home and very confident that I will be able to take care of yours. My animals are very loved and social because of our loving atmosphere.

My husband and I have always relied on friends and family to watch Lola, and with our reliable help moving out of state we knew we needed to find someone we trusted. After reading all the reviews on here, we came across Rebecca and had a good feeling about her. She came for a meet and greet prior, took amazing notes, asked all the right questions and Lola loved her! She was so communicative during her time at our house, sent us great updates and photos of Lola and just such a pleasure to work with. We have already booked her for two upcoming trips and can’t wait to continue our relationship with her!!!!

Palma was a pleasure to work with. She responds quickly to inquiries and is very prompt. She has a kind and sunny disposition and clearly loves animals. I felt so confident leaving our dog and home in her care. She sent us pics and updates which helped with our missing our pet. Everything in our home, and with our dog, was cared for with attention and detail. I would definitely use her again, and again!

Saskia was amazing. She did a superb job caring for our three large active dogs in our home. She agreed to stay on short notice after our regular sitter broke her leg, and came by to meet the dogs prior to her stay. She sent regular updates and photos. When she stopped by to pick up something she had forgotten, it was obvious that the dogs already missed her and that she loved them. We will definitely have her stay again when we need a pet sitter.

FAQs for House Sitting - Mansfield City

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of September 2026, there are 1,235 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Mansfield City. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Mansfield City walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Mansfield City maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Mansfield City choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Mansfield City. On Rover:

  • 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
