“We love working with Jacki to watch our apartment and dog Penny. She is professional, responsive, and you can tell she cares about the pets she cares for. Also, the apartment is always left in good shape when we return. Can't recommend her enough!”

“Karen was great with our four animals (dogs and cats)! Karen was communicative, provided great updates, and let us know when one of our cats was having a minor potential health issue. Would recommend and I know our pets are already looking towards when Karen will be back to see them again!”
“Jerad did an awesome job with Samson. Followed the instructions perfectly and was a great friend to our little guy. Took him on walks and sent lots of updates. Would definitely recommend!”

About: I have grown up with medium to large sized dogs my whole life. I have experience with very friendly dogs and dogs that cannot play with others as well as puppies to older dogs. I have cared for my own pets and friends while growing up and can be trusted with any task to ensure your pets needs and safety! I can offer dog walking in the mornings (7-9am) or afternoons (4-7pm) during the week or anytime during the weekends. I am available on the weekends to check-in or stay with your animal overnight as well. I can check-in and care for your animal during the day or overnight at clients homes. I will ensure your pet is fed, walked, bathed, played with and let outside for their needs. I am comfortable with any specific instructions from the owners as well (medication that needs to be taken, crate training, etc).
“Kathryn was absolutely wonderful with our 2 fur babies! She was diligent with checking in/providing updates and she sent us plenty of pictures 🥰 Our boys seemed happy and settled in Kathryn’s care (like we weren’t even gone). I would recommend Kathryn over and over (and hope she comes back in the future to sit for us again)!”

“Tiffany was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! She truly went above and beyond for our 2 kitties. She took perfect care of our home while we were gone and even washed her sheets and towels before she left, she even tidied up our litter room for us!! She was very responsive through the week sending lots of photos and was available for any check in or additional task we needed from her. She really prioritized our kitties play time and they clearly had an amazing time (given the graveyard of toys all over the house🤩). She even hand made these cute little toys, created little kitty forts with blankets and hand drew these adorable paper bugs she put on the windows to make sure they were stimulated in brand new ways!!! Tiffany will have our business as long as she is doing this and she will be recommended to all our friends. VERY THANKFUL FOR TIFFANY!!!”

About: I have always grown up surrounded by dogs of all breeds and cats as well! Personally, my family always had golden retrievers (okay, I have a soft spot). Over the years, I have always watched neighbors or family pets, including my own. I’ve helped manage any illnesses that may have come along with any dog or cat needing medications or special therapy! I have a LOT of experience with puppies and the training/ time that goes into that development as well. I also am active, so spending time and keeping the dogs and cats I watched busy and playful is super important to me. Overall, treating the pets around me like family has always been second nature to me and I hope to bring that quality to you! I will be starting a new sales role 9-5 in downtown Annapolis! With that said, my availability April 1st will move to mornings and evenings - drop ins/ walks. The remainder of March is free for all times of day! I live in an apartment that is not quite the right size for a dog of my own - however, I am excited to be taking up this opportunity through Rover as a way to still hang out with animals whether it be check ins or walking through town. Building trust is huge for me and so I hope that with future clients that is something that can be earned! I am reliable and respectful and most importantly eager to work with you 🙂

“Jennifer was our first Rover experience and it was absolutely great! The communication was great, she sent pics, and the house was in the same order when we got back the next day! I would highly recommend and will definitely be booking with her again!”

About: Hi! I’m Liz — an animal lover with a flexible remote work schedule and years of experience caring for friends’ and family members’ dogs. I’ve also fostered before, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. As a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to find someone you can count on. I take that trust seriously and always aim to make things stress-free while you’re away — with regular updates, photos, and plenty of care and attention. Whether it’s daily walks, drop-in visits, or overnight stays, I’m dependable, patient, and genuinely enjoy spending time with dogs. Your pup will be in great hands with me. I currently work a hybrid schedule. I work in the office on Wednesdays and Thursdays, and I’m home the rest of the week, which gives me plenty of flexibility for walks, drop-ins, and overnight stays. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I always treat it with the same care and respect as my own. I stick to your pet’s normal routine — walks, meals, and downtime — to keep them comfortable and relaxed. I make sure doors and gates are secure, follow all instructions closely, and leave your home just as I found it. You’ll get regular updates and photos so you always know how your pet’s doing while you’re away.
“Alexxis was absolutely amazing with our dogs, Poppy and Beale, while we were away for the week! She took such great care of them and spent lots of time keeping them company. She even noticed when Poppy had bloody urine, acted quickly, and took her to the vet — we’re so grateful for her attentiveness and care. Alexxis administered antibiotics and kept us updated the whole time, which gave us so much peace of mind. It was clear our dogs adored her! We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter and will definitely book with her again.”

About: I can’t provide you references in history of taking care of animals. What I can tell you is that I have two beautiful grown children. We have rescued animals over the last 24 years, and love them dearly as though they are part of the family. We truly love animals with our full heart, and go that extra distance to attend to their needs, and provide the love they deserve. I will provide the same love, care, and joy to your babies as I have done to ours for so many years. I am an empty nester and want to provide my love to where it’s needed and wanted. I work from home and can set own schedule. I am available seven days a week. I will stand behind my commitment to you. Responsibility is my priority. I will love and care for your pets as if they’re my own, and I will follow the rules we’ve established. I have a Pet Sitter Notes page that we can complete together, or I can send to you before my visit that will address some of these questions/ideas. Please give me a chance. I won't let you or your pet down!
“We couldn’t be more grateful for the care Justine provided. From the beginning, communication was clear, prompt, and professional and we received regular updates and photos, which made being away so much easier. When we returned home, our dog was happy, relaxed, and clearly well cared for. That says everything. We would absolutely book again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy, responsible, and compassionate dog sitter.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs since I was 13, I have watched family, friends, and neighbors dogs. I also have experience with dogs that need medication or extra care! I have watched dogs of all ages as well! I’m currently a college student so I have plenty of time to play with pets on days I don’t have class, and during class days I can stop by and do quick potty breaks! I love to make sure that pets have everything they need, including lots of pets and cuddles. I have one dog of my own at home as well!
About: I’ve taken care of dogs of multiple sizes and ages. I grew up with dogs, cats, hamsters, a bunny, you name it. I’m the go to family member for when it comes to pet sitting! I work full time between M-F 8:30am to 5:30pm I can always find time on my lunch break or after work or weekends to help out! I can help out with whatever is needed. It doesn’t matter if they need a leash or can free roam. I will take care of them just like you would!
About: I took care of my family dogs and cats, my own dogs and cats, rabbits, and I've helped friends with their dog, mostly to feed and walk them too. I used to train our own puppies back in the day, but it's been awhile. I just retired from being an elementary school counselor, so I'm more available to walk and care for animals. My schedule is fairly open if I'm not on a travel trip, so I can walk dogs during the day most anytime and care for some animals when needed. We don't have furry pets, because my husband has an allergy. However, I want to be with dogs without him as much as possible. I do walk my neighbor's dog when she's not available.

“I cannot say enough wonderful things about Yvonne. She took the best care of our pups while we were away. They loved spending the week with her. I highly recommend for all of your pet sitting needs.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Manresa
Margriet has taken care of our dog a couple of times now and she is our go-to sitter. She is competent and trustworthy and keeps us posted on Rory while we're away. We always return to a happy pup and a house as clean as we left it. We highly recommend Margriet!

Absolutely phenomenal dog sitter. Our dogs get separation anxiety easily and they really took to Joshua quickly and he was so great with them. We needed a sitter in a pinch and he not only pulled through for us, but was one of the best pet sitters we have found in the area. Will definitely book again and highly recommend!

Kayla did an amazing job dog sitting in my house for my 11 year old dog Zoey. Kayla was very friendly and Zoey loved her. Kayla cared so well for Zoey and when I got home I saw that Kayla had washed her own bed sheets!.I definitely recommend Kayla for any pet sitting job and would most definitely hire her again!

Tiffany was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!! VERY THANKFUL FOR TIFFANY!!!

Avery stepped up when we really needed her with only a couple of weeks notice for our honeymoon, and stayed for a full 2 weeks watching our two young goldens, including one that’s still a 8 month old puppy. She did an awesome job with them, was a great communicator, and sent tons of good pictures. Don’t know how we would have been able to enjoy our big trip without knowing they were in good hands with her. She also helped out around the house with cleaning, watering plants, pool maintenance, and even dealing with a repairman on a dryer issue that happened right as we were leaving town. She certainly went above and beyond and we couldn’t recommend her enough!!

Hiring Michael was our first ever experience with Rover. I was nervous about the whole thing. But I absolutely did not need to be. He was fantastic, and cared wonderfully for our two dogs and two cats while we were out of town. He really went above and beyond to send us updates and communicated well whenever our silly dogs did something naughty. Would definitely hire him again to stay with our pets.

Lee did another great job caring for our kitty Roxie and house sitting for a week. Lee communicates frequently with updates and pictures and is very responsive before and during the stay. Most importantly, Roxie and Lee bond with each other and it gives us peace of mind that both Roxie and our house are cared for when we are away.

Ezekiel is a wonderful, dependable, & communicative person. We have quite the menagerie at our house and he takes care of our 2 dogs, cat, birds, frogs, gecko & guinea pig as well as our house. We feel fortunate that he is so responsible & caring with our pets. We will have him pet/house sit again to be sure!!!!!

Jamie once again did great with the fur babies. I felt so comfortable leaving my reactive cattle dog. She also watched my cat and watered the plants. There was a big storm the night before we came back and a neighbors tree fell in our yard and she sent pictures and told us about the situation. We will use Jamie again in the future!!!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Manresa walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Manresa maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Manresa choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
