About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life and have hands-on experience caring for dogs of all ages, breeds, sizes, and temperaments. In addition to owning and caring for my own dogs, I’ve worked in doggy daycare settings and with dog walking businesses, giving me experience managing multiple dogs safely while ensuring each one receives individual attention and care. I have raised puppies from a young age and am experienced with basic obedience training, crate training, potty training, leash manners, and reinforcing positive behaviors. I am also comfortable working with reactive, nervous, high-energy, and strong-willed dogs, always prioritizing patience, consistency, and safety. Whether your dog needs long walks, playtime, structured care, medication administration, puppy support, or simply extra love and attention while you’re away, I strive to provide a safe, reliable, and stress-free experience for both pets and their owners. I treat every dog as if they were my own and work hard to ensure they feel comfortable, happy, and well cared for. Dogs are at the center of my daily life, and because I am home full-time, I am able to provide consistent supervision, companionship, and personalized care throughout the day. Your pet won’t be left alone for extended periods and will receive the attention, exercise, structure, and affection they deserve. I have experience caring for dogs of all ages and temperaments and am happy to accommodate feeding schedules, medications, crate routines, training reinforcement, and any special requests to help your pet feel comfortable and at home. Creating a safe, comfortable, and stress-free environment is my top priority. I am home full-time, which means your pet will receive plenty of supervision, attention, and companionship throughout the day. I share my home with two friendly, well-socialized dogs (25 lbs and 40 lbs) who are both very gentle and get along well with other dogs and pets. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and comfort level so they can feel as relaxed as possible while you’re away. Whether your dog enjoys socializing, playing, going for walks, or simply having a quiet place to relax, I adjust my care to meet their individual needs. Safety is extremely important to me, and all pets are closely supervised. I maintain a clean, pet-friendly environment and follow any instructions provided by owners regarding feeding, medications, exercise, crate routines, or special care. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is safe, happy, and well cared for.

“Shibo was absolutely amazing! I have two male cats, and one of them I had just adopted 10 days before leaving for my trip. He was very skittish when I first got him, but he warmed up to Shibo right away. My other cat took a liking to him immediately as well—who wouldn’t! Shibo was so wonderful, giving my cats the attention they needed while I was away. In the past, I relied on neighbors and people just stopping by to feed and check on them, but my experience with Shibo has completely changed my perspective. It is worth every penny to have someone as great as him looking after your fur babies! When I returned, I could see the difference in my fluffy companions in the best way as this is very early in their introduction phase. I had peace of mind knowing they were well cared for. Shibo provided fantastic updates and beautiful photos, making it clear that my cats had a wonderful time with their new friend. I have full trust in Shibo as I also came home to find everything exactly as I expected. I highly recommend Shibo for anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring pet sitter! Especially cats.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Jahrian! He took such amazing care of our dog while we were away. From the regular updates and photos to the genuine love and attention he gave, it was clear our pup was in great hands. We came home to a happy, relaxed dog—which says it all. Reliable, communicative, and clearly an animal lover. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a trustworthy and caring sitter!”
About: I have owned both cats and big and small dogs and am experienced in training, raising, and taking care of all types of dogs in various states of health and ages. I love all animals! I work part time as I am applying to masters programs right now, so I will have plenty of time for dog walks and animal drop ins! I do not offer boarding or day care at my own house because of the multiple outdoor cats and other animals (like raccoons) in my neighborhood.
“Madison is an amazing dog sitter. She takes great care of my pets. She has great response time and is always updating and communicating. I highly recommend Madison and will be using her again in the future.”

Let me be your dog's caregiver, and they'll receive all the cuddles, playtime, and care they need. Looking forward to meeting you and your four-legged family member! 🐶💕 Welcome! Nestled in a house with a spacious yard on a tranquil street, I offer a peaceful environment for your furry friend. I work from home on Fridays and have weekends off. About: Hi! I'm a wildlife biologist, and I've spent most of my life taking care of animals — in a veterinary setting, on wildlife conservation projects, and growing up in my own home with my family pets. I work as a full-time biologist during the spring/summer, and will have open availability over the fall, winter, and spring to help with your pet care needs! I started out as a kennel technician at a veterinary hospital, where my days were cleaning dog kennels and cat cages, feeding and watering, walking dogs, giving oral and topical medications, holding animals for exams, and keeping daily records on everyone in our care. This job is where I learned how to understand an animal’s body language, and how to adjust my own to make sure they feel safe. Since then I've graduated from university and have worked as a field biologist for state and federal agencies, most recently monitoring endangered shorebirds at Jones Beach State Park here on Long Island. Along the way I provided daily care and feeding for state-owned horses in Oregon, and I've handled, banded, and released wild birds across four different groups — songbirds, raptors, waterfowl, and doves. If you have a bird and you get nervous about leaving them, let’s chat. I’d be happy to care for any feathered family members! At home I've kept lizards, snakes, birds, and aquariums of my own, so I'm comfortable with things like heat gradients and UVB, humidity, feeding schedules that aren't daily, and water parameters and filtration. What I offer: • Dog walking, drop-in visits, and overnight stays in your home • Cats, including shy ones and multi-cat households • Medication administration, oral and topical • Senior pets and pets with medical needs genuinely welcome • Birds, reptiles, and aquariums • Photos and a real update after every visit • CPR and First Aid certified I’m always happy to do a free meet-and-greet first. I'd love to meet you and your crew! Currently, I have open availability from 10 am - 9 pm 7 days a week for drop ins and walks. For overnight stays, I am available anytime with 1-2 days notice. Before the first visit I do a free meet-and-greet. I want to see where everything lives — food, leash, litter, carrier, cleaning supplies — and I write the routine down rather than trusting my memory: feeding times and amounts, medications, which treats are allowed, how your dog behaves on a walk, and anything that frightens them. I also want your vet's name and number and a backup contact before I'm ever in the house alone. The thing I'm most careful about is doors. I come and go deliberately, I know where every animal is before I open anything, and I never leave a door propped. Dogs stay leashed the entire time they're outside with me, with no off-leash exceptions unless you've asked for it specifically. I give Medication exactly as written, at the time you've specified, and I confirm each dose with you. I don't adjust a dose or skip one because an animal is being difficult — I'll message you instead. Following written protocols precisely is most of what my professional work has been, in a veterinary hospital and in the field, and I treat your instructions the same way. I pay attention and I report: appetite, water, litter box or bathroom habits, energy, and anything that looks off. If something seems wrong I'll contact you right away. If it looks like an emergency and I can't reach you, I'll get your pet to your vet or the nearest emergency clinic and keep calling. And I look after the house. I clean up after your pet and after myself, I keep your keys and door codes private, I don't bring anyone with me, and I leave the place better than I found it. You'll get photos and a short real update after every visit. I also welcome any feedback, as that helps me do a better job in the future!

Morgan is amazing! She is very thoughtful, kind, and professional. My cat is usually a bit cautious with strangers, but he fell in love with her at the first sight. Morgan kept me updated with daily reports and photos, and answered all my questions promptly and clearly. Communication with her is always smooth, pleasant, and assuring. I feel fortunate knowing that I have someone I can trust with my 🐈⬛ when cannot be with him.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .
sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
