“I can't recommend this Katherine and Jordan enough! I had to leave my dog, Kira, while my dad had surgery, and from the moment we arrived, I could tell she was in great hands. Kira has separation anxiety, and I was really worried about how she'd handle being away from me, but they were so understanding, supportive, and flexible. They even invited us for a meet-and-greet on short notice, which made me feel much more at ease. The place itself is amazing—spacious and full of outdoor areas where dogs can run and explore. Kira felt at home almost immediately, and it was such a relief to see her so comfortable. They genuinely cares about the dogs, and it showed in how they interacted with Kira and me and how they took the time to ensure she was settling in well. Having her in such a safe, loving environment really took a lot of stress off me during a difficult time. I will definitely be bringing Kira back in the future—she had such a great experience! I am so so grateful to have found this place in Haiku! Thank you for everything!”

About: I’ve spent my life around dogs, from raising my own senior pup to pet-sitting for friends and neighbors. I’m comfortable with everything from high-energy dogs to gentle senior care, including administering oral medications. I also use a patient training method for dogs that pull on the leash, and I always keep things clean—whether that's wiping muddy paws or keeping their play area tidy! My schedule is highly flexible! Since my daily routine already revolves around caring for my dog, Lily, I can easily fit in your pet's needs. For house-sitting, I can bring Lily along as a built-in playmate. If you prefer solo walks or drop-in visits, I’ll gladly leave her at home to give your pet my undivided attention I have a fully fenced yard for safe playtime and a friendly 12-year-old dog who gets along great with other pups. Plus, having lived on Maui for 16 years, I know all the best quiet trails, parks, and safe outdoor spots to take your dog for some fun adventures
About: I have extensive experience in dog training and care as my Dad’s business was in rehabilitation, training and boarding for dogs. I worked as an employee for 5 years and also had opportunities to help train and care for the dogs from 12 years old. I love learning more every time I interact with a new dog. I am skilled at training dogs to get over leash aggression and constant pulling. I have worked with many different breeds of dogs and have learned a lot about how this can alter their specific needs. I have a part time job where I’m busy on Wednesdays and Fridays. Otherwise I am available to enjoy time with your doggo all day. I live on a large property with lots of fun things to smell and explore! It isn’t fenced, I intend to keep your dog close with a leash unless you feel they aren’t likely to try and run away.
“Wanda and Lonnie are a lifesaver! Their home is lovely, and they are so sweet with dogs. My dog has been suffering with short term separation anxiety and having their home available to dogsit and board has been so so helpful. The property has plenty of space for the pups to roam around, and they have even sent photos and videos of how my dog has responded to being left with them. When I come to collect him he always wants to stay and is always exhausted when he gets home because he has had so much fun during his day. You can tell they love dogs and have a long history of working with them.”

“Madilyn was wonderful. She and Neala really seemed to get along but more than that, we were really busy having a wedding and decided a little late that Neala might be better off away from such a big crowd and stealing food from plates, and Madilyn came to our rescue. Will definitely use her services again.”
“Where to start with?? Christina is beyond wonderful! I texted her on a really short notice and she helped me straight away. She gave Olly so much love and attention. She updated me throughout the whole day and I could see by the photos that Olly and her were having a great time together! It made me so happy to see that she took care of Olly as if he was her own puppy. She is a 11/10!!”

“I cannot recommend Michelle and Brain highly enough. I have an older dog with special needs who cannot be left alone and who struggles deeply with separation anxiety. What my dog needs most is a steady, compassionate presence, and that is exactly what they provided. Not long after I dropped my dog off, Michele reached out to let me know that my dog was content, getting along well with her dog, and exploring her new surroundings. That early check-in brought me such a sense of relief. Later, she sent me a photo of my dog resting peacefully in her garden while she gardened nearby, which spoke volumes about how safe and settled my dog felt. Michele was incredibly patient, kind, and genuinely present. She snuggled with my dog on the couch, included her in daily activities (like “helping” in the garden), and it was sweet that she seemed to enjoy my dog’s company. That matters to me more than I can easily express. Having a dog with extra needs can come with a lot of worry about being a burden, and it was sweet to sense that it wasn’t that at all for them. It was also deeply reassuring that they have an older dog themselves. Michele truly understands the rhythms, sensitivities, and nervous systems of senior and special-needs dogs. When I picked my dog up, she was happy to see me and tired in the best way—but most importantly, she was calm and regulated. This tells me everything about the quality of care she received. This kind of support is immensely valuable. I would absolutely recommend Michele and Brian, especially to anyone with an older, anxious, or special-needs dog who needs more than basic sitting. Finding someone like this feels rare, and I would trust them with my dog again without hesitation.”

“Buttercup had a great time! Thanks for being so kind, conscientious, and professional. We will definitely be back, your house and yard are a perfect setup and communication was amazing! Five star experience 🤩”

About: Aloha! I’ve grown up with pets all my life and I enjoy the joy they bring to my life. I had a pet of my own that I cared for for 15 years. I have a backyard and I am home throughout the entire day. I care for a friend’s dog often, and I like to give the pup the option of indoor or outdoor so that they can walk in and out at their own convenience. I am currently retired so I am regularly home and usually available every day. I typically stay at home throughout the day, so you can rely on me to keep your pet company and cared for! My house is completely fenced so they will not be able to get out. I currently don’t have any pets of my own. I enjoy keeping my sliding door open so that the dogs have the freedom to go in and out of the house at their convenience
About: I’ve been a dog lover since my first puppy, Zeus. I had him and grew up with him for ten years of my life and now I am blessed with another puppy, Koda. I’ve always had a soft spot for dogs and show the most attentive care for them. Especially because my Koda has seizures, I’m always home and around. And our loving little town has an amazing dog park for outdoor time. Everyday, koda and I begin our morning with a walk then breakfast. I am always home so he’s glued to my side during the day. We do our thing around the house or on sunny days we head out to the dog park. Afterwards it’s back home and dinner time. I have my fur baby so your loved one will never be alone. I allow pets on furniture and to freely Rome the house. Any outdoor time would be walks around the neighborhood or to the dog park.
About: I have a husky mix Kea and we are super active! Daily walks and animal care is in my daily routine. I have been doing rover for a long time now. Apart from dogs, I worked/lived at a cat sanctuary in Haiku that had over 200+ cats as well as chickens and cows. My job consisted of feeding, giving medicine/attention, and cleaning after them everyday. I take care of my husky mix Kea everyday! I work from home m-f and have lots of free time. I love to take care of all kinds of animals. I am looking for some extra jobs on the island! I would make sure I am aware of the clients needs and expectations when being in their home. I will be aware of any precautions and contact the owner with any issues. I will take care of the animals with anything that is needed (walking/feeding/put into crate/attention), I am a quick learner and am open to any specific jobs.

“We needed a last minute sitter to watch our dog Milo for a few hours, and Paisley was quick to respond to our request and very communicative! Coordinating pick up and drop off was very easy, and I’d definitely contact Paisley again to watch our dog in the future and recommend her to others looking for a dog sitter as well!”

About: From puppies to seniors, we've cared for and loved them all. Jack Russels, Chihuahuas and all the mixes. We at one time had 3 little ones in our lives cause we couldn't watch the one sweet chihuahua that belonged to our friend go back to the pound when he didn't quite fit in well with their kids. We took him home to find him a home and we sure did! 13 years of his little life wasn't enough time. Love fostering with Maui Humane when we can, hard to say goodbye but worth it to make their life just a little better for a bit. I work part time from home so I'm usually around to play or snuggle with your pup. We are mostly home bodies so even on the weekend your pup won't be lonely. We have a friendly (for a chihuahua lol) 4 year old Chihuahua that is always looking for playmates! We have an outside space where they can run that energy off too and live close to the beach! So if the paw parents approve we're happy to enjoy nightly sunsets or early morning beach walks while it's not too hot. During the day they can lounge or play in the house or choose to lay in the sun on our fenced front lanai. Special diets don't intimidate me. Ours is a picky eater so I understand the need to mix up the meals every once in a while.
About: I’m a country, animal loving young girl. I’ve spent years caring for farms and ranches or just housesitting with many dogs, cats and much more. I just enjoy soaking up extra time with the critters. I’ve spent time training two of my own dogs and also several others. Experience fostering both cats, kittens and puppies is also something I can offer. It’s so rewarding to watch the dogs learn and grow with training and time. I can take your dog on walks and play with them or just chill with your cat. I currently work 3 days a week on a boat and 1 day as a bartender. Feel free to message me for scheduling and availability. If your pet is ok with me being gone on the boat 12 hrs on a couple days I’m happy to housesit for a length of time. My partner can often times let your pet out to potty on my long work days. Usually just Wednesdays are 12 hr shifts. I like to keep the pets routines as close to what they are use to as possible. Playing with, exercising, feeding and even doing some training are all things I like to incorporate in my daily schedule.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in HI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
