“Jean is amazing!!! Very combinative easy to talk with. Exceeded all expectations. I made an error trying to book her, so it didn’t get put in her Callander. At last minute she moved stuff around in life to still be able to accommodate us. I’m so thankful for her. She’s a life saver, my dogs absolutely loved her she sent pictures and videos. I could tell they were in good hands with let me relax. My Doberman is pouting around the house the day after we got back. I think he is missing his new friend. She is the best. I will definitely be using her again.”

“Brittany is perfect! Our 2 dogs and 2 cats warmed up to her immediately, and her communication was fantastic. We will definitely be booking with her again knowing our big whiny pups are in loving hands while we are away.”

“Anaysha was amazing! This was my first time using these services so I was a little nervous. Anaysha was extremely friendly and communicated so well while I was away. Anaysha went above and beyond. Highly recommended!”

About: I have experience caring for pets of different sizes and personalities, including feeding, walking, playtime, and maintaining daily routines. I am comfortable handling energetic pets, giving medications when needed, and making sure animals feel loved!! I am currently working part time and mostly making my own schedule. I work close to home allowing me to be able to check in frequently. I have a decent sized back yard and plenty of room inside the home. Your pet will have space to enjoy and get comfortable during their stay.
“My dog Alfie seemed to have a great time with Joshua! I hired him for in house sitting while on vacation and he was a phenomenal house guest, fantastic with Alfie, and did a wonderful job of sending updates/photos and accommodating any of my requests. 10/10 would recommend going forward.”

“Megan did a great job! She took great care of both our pups so we were able to enjoy our trip without worrying about the fur babies. We will be rebooking Megan for our next trip! Thank you!”

“Katryna was absolutely amazing with Jax. She provided us with multiple daily updates as well as pictures of Jax during her stay. I would absolutely recommend her and will definitely be using her again!!”

“Andru was great with my two pups! They’re both very large, one full of energy, one elderly with some anxiety and potty issues. He was so good about sending me updates and pictures, and the dogs were healthy and happy when we got home. Will definitely use him again!”

“We needed a last minute dog sitter and got ahold of Cambria. From the get go she was prompt in replies, thorough and very friendly. Our dogs also really seemed to like her. During the house sitting she sent many updates about coming and going, how the dogs were doing and even sent some great pictures of the dogs. Overall very happy with Cambria and would definitely recommend!”

“From the moment I meet Jessie, she made me feel confident that I had made the right decision to use Rover and choose her as our sitter. She stayed one week in my house and took excellent care of my three dogs. She was in contact with me every day sending pictures and updates. My dogs loved Jessie. She is a lovely young lady and very professional.”

About: I recently started my own house/pet sitting business when the veterinary clinic I worked for decided to shut down overnight boarding. I had worked for the clinic for almost 4 years and most of the regular clients absolutely loved me. I became busy quite fast, and when I finally left the clinic to work elsewhere, I took a lot of those clients with me, simply because of how well their pets know me and how well I take care of them. My primary job is a technician for a poop scooping company and I absolutely love it. I hope to blend both jobs together. I have 16 years of professional work with animals including veterinary hospitals, non profit rescues, 1 year of vet tech schooling.
“Abby was so great with the dogs...they just loved her! She texted and sent pictures every day we were away. The house was clean and everything was washed when we came home and that was very much appreciated. I would highly recommend Abby! Jewels”

“Dezarae is amazing! We felt so comfortable leaving our German Shepard with her and our pup loved her. We were able to relax while we were away knowing our dog is in good hands. I highly recommend”

“Kaitlin is FANTASTIC! She was able to watch my 3 dogs within an hour’s notice. She was SO sweet and very good with animals. She is extremely communicative and nice, provided updates and pictures throughout their time together. My dogs had big smiles in every picture she sent!! I honestly could not have found anybody better or more trustworthy to watch my pups. 🥹❤️ I will use her any time I am in the area again!!”

About: Being a dog owner myself, I know how important it is to trust someone with your pet. I focus on keeping dogs comfortable, safe, and feeling at home while you’re away. I genuinely love dogs and already take care of one of my own, so I’m used to daily walks, feeding schedules, and giving them attention and consistency. What sets me apart is that I don’t just “watch” dog, I care for them like they’re part of my own household, because I already live that way with my own pet. I run a real estate company, but most of my work is done on my computer so I’m home and available throughout the day. I occasionally step out for short periods, usually about an hour or less, but I’m generally around and able to give pets attention, care, and consistency. I care for my own dog daily, and he’s older so I’m used to giving extra attention and following a care routine. I handle his eye drops and medication, and I’m very attentive to his needs like feeding times and when he wants to go outside. He’s well trained, but more importantly I’m used to being observant and consistent with him. Because of that experience, I’m comfortable adapting to any dog’s routine and following specific instructions to make sure they’re cared for exactly how their owner prefers.
About: As a lifelong dog and cat owner who loves to travel, I know how important it is to know you’ve left your pets in good hands while you’re away. I work full-time but remotely, so it’s easy for me to stop by and check on/feed pets or stay overnight with them if need be. I can’t host others’ pets in my homd, but I can easily and safely take care of pets at your house by keeping the home clean, communicating effectively and providing frequent updates on your furry friends. I always appreciate getting photos and messages about my pets’ care while I’m gone, and will be happy to do the same for you.
“If you want a great pet sitter, look no further! Aaron was a fantastic pet/house sitter for my 2 boys. It was my first time using Rover, and I couldn't have asked for a better choice in pet sitter. Aaron was very patient with all my questions & concerns. My place was also left very tidy when I returned home at the end of my trip. I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Lowell
We cannot recommend Londyn highly enough! She stayed at our home over a long weekend to care for our dog, Brontë, and our cat, Tig, and did an outstanding job. It was clear from the moment we returned that both pets had been well cared for, happy, relaxed, and given plenty of attention and affection while we were away. Londyn also took excellent care of our home, leaving everything spotless and in excellent condition. Knowing our pets and home were in such capable hands gave us complete peace of mind during our trip. We were so impressed with the care she provided that we have already booked her again for a future trip. We would not hesitate to recommend Londyn to anyone looking for a trustworthy, caring, and responsible pet sitter.

We felt completely confident that our Daphne was well looked after while we were away. Kelli was responsive to messages, kept us updated, and clearly took great care of her. We also really appreciated that she left the house just as she found it. We would absolutely book with her again!

Lindsay is so great! We booked last minute and she was able to do a meet and greet with my dogs the night before. She sent lots of pictures and kept me informed with how my dogs were doing. I would highly recommend Lindsay and plan to book her again in the near future!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Lowell on Rover is $38.85 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lowell walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lowell maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lowell choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lowell. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 100% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
