“We’ve used Rylie twice now and she’s done a fantastic job. Our pup seems to have really taken to her. We also accidentally booked 1 night short of our return date and she was happy to adjust plans and stay an extra night!”

“Erin really went above and beyond for us. Just before we were about to take a long planned vacation, one of our kitties came down with a virus and required multiple medications, including IV fluids. We were so grateful to have found her profile. She is an expert cat sitter, with the background as a vet tech and was able to administer all the medications as needed while we were gone. Also, she kept our house was in tiptop shape. Best of all, when we came home and our sick kitty was back to being himself. We couldn’t have asked for more. Although we don’t have dogs, I’m sure that Erin provides the same expert care for them as well. We will be having her back for sure.”

“Greyson did an amazing job caring for our whole family, which is a lot! Very communicative and sent very helpful updates. Everyone loved Greyson, even my grumpy old man cat. Will definitely book again!”

“James was amazing with my two big dogs and house sitting while we were away for a few days! Easy communication, adorable pictures, and somehow pacified my wild 2.5yr pit/mastiff mix. Highly recommend booking with him.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for a long time. I love playing with dogs especially with dog toys like tug of war or fetch. I can also just sit with your dog and keep them company if they enjoy having lazy days I work full time 3 pm to midnight currently but am open to overnights when I get off work and staying with your fur family thru the day before work. I have had animals in my house for many years now and have always been very loving and caring for them. Making sure they get walked accordingly and get loved accordingly.
“Isabelle was fantastic with my two dogs! She took care of them as if they were her own and sent me updates all weekend long. I highly recommend Isabelle, so does Thor and Sunny! They absolutely love Isabelle!!”

About: I have experience with dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and birds. I love all animals, young and old. I’m looking forward to taking care of your fur baby!! I work 2 part time/student assistant jobs so I have plenty of time to care for your fur babies! I am always willing to schedule and plan ahead as well. I have one cat at home, but that’s it. I am not afraid to work with dogs that are excited or jumpy and I can take them in and out of their crates!
About: We provide boarding for your cat or dog in a family-based environment. We try to keep a structured and caring home environment for pets while their owners are away. Our goal is to keep the experience for you and your pet as safe and stress free as possible. Additionally, I have First Aid and CPR Certification for cats and dogs. I am also Fear Free Certified. Being Fear Free Certified means I was trained to look at subtle signs of stress in dogs and cats before they escalate. As well as techniques to make interactions with dogs and cats less stressful. My husband works from home, and I'm also at home with my children. During the school year I do drop off and pick up for the kids. My husband is home at this time. Therefore, dogs are generally always supervised, although there may be brief periods of time we are all out of the home. We have an area designated for the dogs in our home. This helps reduce the risk of escaping and helps keep them more safe. We also have a fenced in backyard. However, we always supervise interactions in the backyard between dogs or when the dogs are alone.
“Hanna stayed with our cat all week while we were gone. She was so easy to communicate with and quick to respond! She sent us the cutest pictures and videos all week to get us through the week. 100% will rebook with Hanna.”

About: I have been around dogs and pets since I was very young. We had a family dog I helped take care of and all three of my siblings have had either a dog or cat that I would pet sit. My roommate also currently owns a puppy that I help out with as well. I am currently a full time student at GVSU and I have a part time job but it is very flexible. I can always make scheduling work as long as we communicate! I do not board other dogs very often unless it is dire. But trust and safely will depend on where you live and what you and your pet are comfortable with.
About: I’ve been a pet owner of my own for a good portion of my life. Mainly cats but have had experience with all types of animals. I like to reassure people and put their minds at ease that their fur babies are safe and sound with me. I want to be both hands on with your pets and respectful of given instructions. I currently am employed but I am looking to become a full-time sitter or make a transition into the industry working alongside animals. I have a long time dream to open my own shelter one day. I care for your pets as if they were my own babies. Mainly following all your instructions and guidelines, with a little touch of love. I will always provide photos for proof of life and keep updates if necessary.
“Jackie was very loving and caring of our two dogs. Not only did she take care of our two higher-needs dogs, but she watched over our house and kept everything very neat. Great communication and she provided multiple pictures and videos, sometimes twice a day.”

“Elizabeth was outstanding! She kept us informed during our vacation, and took great care of the house in addition to our dog! She also took our dog for nice walks despite the frigid weather. We will happily use her again.”

About: I’ve always had a pet at home, so caring for animals has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve taken care of dogs, cats, and even a frog, and I currently share my space with a friendly 3-year-old Yorkie and a curious little lizard. Every animal I’ve cared for has taught me something new about patience, communication, and love. As a college senior, I balance my studies with daily walks, feeding schedules, and playtime for my Yorkie. Managing school and pet care has helped me become extremely reliable, organized, and attentive to every detail, qualities I bring to every pet I watch. What sets me apart is my genuine passion for animals and my ability to make each pet feel comfortable and safe. Whether it’s a shy dog, an energetic puppy, or a pet with special routines, I take the time to understand their needs and make them feel at home while you’re away. Now that my soccer season is over, my schedule is much more flexible, even though I still work part-time at Petco. I have classes during the day, but I’m free after 3 p.m. on weekdays and completely open on weekends. I’m also off on Fridays, which gives me extra time for longer walks, drop-ins, or weekend stays. Even with a busy schedule, I make pet care a top priority. Balancing school, work, and caring for my own Yorkie has taught me how to stay organized and dependable. You can always count on me to be punctual, communicative, and attentive to your pet’s needs. Safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I live in an apartment, but I make sure my 3-year-old Yorkie, Zeus, stays active and happy, he gets walked 2-3 times a day and we go to the dog park as often as possible. That means visiting pets can expect plenty of outdoor time, walks, and safe play under my supervision. When caring for pets in my home, I keep the space clean, calm, and pet-friendly. Zeus is social and gentle with other dogs, which helps create a relaxed, welcoming environment. When I’m caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat it with the same respect as my own. I carefully follow each pet’s routine, make sure doors and gates are secure, and send regular updates with photos so you can feel at ease knowing your pet is safe, loved, and cared for.
“Seth watched our dog Blue in our home for four nights, and we can’t recommend him highly enough. He was professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with the entire time. What stood out most was how much genuine time he spent with Blue. He didn’t just cover the basics, he played all of Blue’s favorite games, like chasing him around the couch and playing with his favorite toys. It was clear he really cared about making sure Blue was happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. When we got home, Blue was calm, happy, and clearly well cared for which is exactly what you hope for when you leave your dog with someone. We could tell he hadn’t been stressed at all while we were gone. Seth also took great care of our home and left everything clean and in excellent condition. We’d absolutely work with him again and would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring dog sitter.”

“Nichole was absolutely wonderful! Our dogs loved her and felt comfortable with her right away — even Bugsy, who usually takes a little time to warm up to new people. It made such a difference being able to keep them in their own home; it was so much less stressful for them. She sent daily photos and updates, and you could clearly see how happy and well cared for they were. I truly couldn’t be happier with the care they received. We would absolutely book with her again!”

FAQs for House Sitting - London
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of June 2026, there are 1,249 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across London. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred London walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in London maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in London. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
