“We’ve used Rylie twice now and she’s done a fantastic job. Our pup seems to have really taken to her. We also accidentally booked 1 night short of our return date and she was happy to adjust plans and stay an extra night!”

“Nichole was absolutely wonderful! Our dogs loved her and felt comfortable with her right away — even Bugsy, who usually takes a little time to warm up to new people. It made such a difference being able to keep them in their own home; it was so much less stressful for them. She sent daily photos and updates, and you could clearly see how happy and well cared for they were. I truly couldn’t be happier with the care they received. We would absolutely book with her again!”

“Greyson did an amazing job caring for our whole family, which is a lot! Very communicative and sent very helpful updates. Everyone loved Greyson, even my grumpy old man cat. Will definitely book again!”

“Denise was AMAZING! She was so patient with my shy senior Nikita. The two of them bonded much quicker than I had anticipated and it made me so happy to know that my pup was in good hands. I will definitely be booking with Denise again as she’s become a member of Nikita’s circle! Thank you big time Denise - you are truly incredible.”

“Cierra was the best. She sent updates and pictures every day. The dogs were well cared for and happy. She left the house clean as well. Could not be happier or made a better choice for sitter. Will definitely use her again.”

“Erin really went above and beyond for us. Just before we were about to take a long planned vacation, one of our kitties came down with a virus and required multiple medications, including IV fluids. We were so grateful to have found her profile. She is an expert cat sitter, with the background as a vet tech and was able to administer all the medications as needed while we were gone. Also, she kept our house was in tiptop shape. Best of all, when we came home and our sick kitty was back to being himself. We couldn’t have asked for more. Although we don’t have dogs, I’m sure that Erin provides the same expert care for them as well. We will be having her back for sure.”

“Jackie was great! She kept us updated daily about Marley and Lucy. She was respectful of our home and even washed the bedding for us. We will definitely use her services again in the future. Thanks Jackie!”

I always prioritize clear communication and will keep you updated throughout each visit. I understand that inviting someone into your home requires trust, and I don’t take that lightly. I’ll also send regular updates and photos so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.
“James was amazing with my two big dogs and house sitting while we were away for a few days! Easy communication, adorable pictures, and somehow pacified my wild 2.5yr pit/mastiff mix. Highly recommend booking with him.”

About: I’ve cared for dogs for a long time. I love playing with dogs especially with dog toys like tug of war or fetch. I can also just sit with your dog and keep them company if they enjoy having lazy days I work full time 3 pm to midnight currently but am open to overnights when I get off work and staying with your fur family thru the day before work. I have had animals in my house for many years now and have always been very loving and caring for them. Making sure they get walked accordingly and get loved accordingly.
“This was my second experience utilizing Rover house sitting. Communication was excellent with photos and prompt replies. She even mopped the basement and cleaned the kitchen sink area, which was an added bonus. My understanding was that she and her husband would stop by 4 times a day and walk the dogs. The house smelled good upon arrival and my pets appeared to be in good health & spirits. In addition, she is a retired vet tech. So, yes, I would consider having the couple house sit again.”

About: We provide boarding for your cat or dog in a family-based environment. We try to keep a structured and caring home environment for pets while their owners are away. Our goal is to keep the experience for you and your pet as safe and stress free as possible. Additionally, I have First Aid and CPR Certification for cats and dogs. I am also Fear Free Certified. Being Fear Free Certified means I was trained to look at subtle signs of stress in dogs and cats before they escalate. As well as techniques to make interactions with dogs and cats less stressful. My husband works from home, and I'm also at home with my children. During the school year I do drop off and pick up for the kids. My husband is home at this time. Therefore, dogs are generally always supervised, although there may be brief periods of time we are all out of the home. We have an area designated for the dogs in our home. This helps reduce the risk of escaping and helps keep them more safe. We also have a fenced in backyard. However, we always supervise interactions in the backyard between dogs or when the dogs are alone.
About: Hello! Our family loves dogs. We've had two dogs in the past, one dog for 8 years and one for 6 years, the latter having recently passed away. In between having them, my wife has fostered a half dozen dogs from the Huron Valley Humane Society that just needed a break to unwind. Your dog would get three times the love compared to just one person taking care of your dog, as both me, my stay at home wife, and my 9th grade daughter would be taking care of them. Dogs love the wooded, fenced-in backyard. They would have the option to sleep in my daughters bed. Since our most recent dog passed away, that's opened the opportunity for us to house and love other peoples dogs. Our dogs and our friend's dogs were allowed to go on the couch and sleep in beds with my daughters. Your's would have the same opportunity, if you allowed it. Prefer dogs that don't whine. Also, if there is something we normally have out that we will need to put away, we are not interested. For example, if your dog will chew on our coats or blankets, it wouldn't be a good fit. Also, my 9th grader needs her sleep. Drop offs and pick ups only between 8AM and 8PM.
“The best pet and house sitter we have ever had, hands down! It was so nice relaxing on this recent family trip knowing our home and furry family members were in such good hands. Absolutely recommend!”

“Haevin was great! I went on a trip for almost 2 weeks and she stayed with my pup Walter while I was gone. It was really nice being able to leave Walter in the environment he’s comfortable in, as he can struggle with separation anxiety. She sent pics and even went above and beyond and picked up the poop in the yard. That was so sweet and not expected! Thanks Haevin!!”

About: I absolutely love dogs! I’ve been dogsitting since my grandparents let me (8 years old) and haven’t looked back since. I miss my family dog and am in need of an animal to love on. I’m super used to all types of dogs from the more aggressive friendly type to more shy ones and love them all. My goal is to make sure your pet feels loved, safe, and taken care of while you’re out. I am currently finishing up my masters at the university of Michigan. My work is mostly remote so I will be able to give your pet the attention it deserves! I love giving pets company and making sure we spend quality time together. I love going for walks, playing with toys, or just cuddling (depending on the energy levels).
About: I’ve cared for and have loved dogs for the past 20 years. I have experience with dogs and with diabetes and other special care needs. I’m currently a hybrid worker with a flexible schedule allowing me to work from home anytime. I will communicate with owners if there is any reason I would need to be away from their pet for more than 4 hours. I currently do not have any pets. I live in a second story condo with plenty of walking paths in the neighborhood and a dog park close by. My house is a calm environment for anxious pets.
About: I’ve been a pet owner of my own for a good portion of my life. Mainly cats but have had experience with all types of animals. I like to reassure people and put their minds at ease that their fur babies are safe and sound with me. I want to be both hands on with your pets and respectful of given instructions. I currently am employed but I am looking to become a full-time sitter or make a transition into the industry working alongside animals. I have a long time dream to open my own shelter one day. I care for your pets as if they were my own babies. Mainly following all your instructions and guidelines, with a little touch of love. I will always provide photos for proof of life and keep updates if necessary.

FAQs for House Sitting - London
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,259 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across London. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred London walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in London maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in London choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in London. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 98% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
