Nichole is wonderful! Communication is top notch - lots of pictures and updates were so appreciated. The two goofballs loved her! Nichole administered medication to one of the dogs, followed feeding and supplement instructions perfectly and took great care of our two doggies. Highly recommended!

Rylie was very responsive and very attentive to our pups. She also sent great photos. She has great experience with her own dogs and with her work at a doggy day care and was very comfortable when a last minute issue came up and knew which issues she should contact us about.

Fatima was great with our needy senior dog while we were away. She gave lots of updates with photos and let us know how it was going throughout the weekend. Our house was in great shape when we returned and even our very shy cat seemed to warm up by the end. Would definitely recommend Fatima to anyone looking for in-home sitting and we hope to use her again in the future!

Denise was AMAZING! She was so patient with my shy senior Nikita. The two of them bonded much quicker than I had anticipated and it made me so happy to know that my pup was in good hands. I will definitely be booking with Denise again as she’s become a member of Nikita’s circle! Thank you big time Denise - you are truly incredible.

Erin really went above and beyond for us. Just before we were about to take a long planned vacation, one of our kitties came down with a virus and required multiple medications, including IV fluids. We were so grateful to have found her profile. She is an expert cat sitter, with the background as a vet tech and was able to administer all the medications as needed while we were gone. Also, she kept our house was in tiptop shape. Best of all, when we came home and our sick kitty was back to being himself. We couldn’t have asked for more. Although we don’t have dogs, I’m sure that Erin provides the same expert care for them as well. We will be having her back for sure.

Annabelle was incredible with both our two pups, a 9yo yellow lab and a 8mo old black mouth cur mix. She house sat and took care of them from a Friday to Sunday. She gave us periodic updates and made us feel very comfortable while we were out of town. She arranged an introduction with the dogs and they were immediately comfortable with her. We will definitely be having her sit the dogs again!

This was my second experience utilizing Rover house sitting. Communication was excellent with photos and prompt replies. She even mopped the basement and cleaned the kitchen sink area, which was an added bonus. My understanding was that she and her husband would stop by 4 times a day and walk the dogs. The house smelled good upon arrival and my pets appeared to be in good health & spirits. In addition, she is a retired vet tech. So, yes, I would consider having the couple house sit again.

Seth watched our dog Blue in our home for four nights, and we can’t recommend him highly enough. He was professional, respectful, and easy to communicate with the entire time. What stood out most was how much genuine time he spent with Blue. He didn’t just cover the basics, he played all of Blue’s favorite games, like chasing him around the couch and playing with his favorite toys. It was clear he really cared about making sure Blue was happy, comfortable, and getting plenty of attention. When we got home, Blue was calm, happy, and clearly well cared for which is exactly what you hope for when you leave your dog with someone. We could tell he hadn’t been stressed at all while we were gone. Seth also took great care of our home and left everything clean and in excellent condition. We’d absolutely work with him again and would confidently recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable, communicative, and caring dog sitter.

Elizabeth was absolutely amazing! This was our first time leaving our pup, Spud, and she made the entire experience so much easier by providing such loving and attentive care. We came home to happy dogs! She went above and beyond—not only taking great care of our pups but also handling little accidents from Spud with patience. She also sent daily updates and pictures and kept in constant communication, which we truly appreciated! Knowing how they were doing throughout our trip gave us so much peace of mind. We are so grateful for her kindness, updates, and the thoughtful note she left for us. We would love to have her back for future visits! If you’re looking for someone reliable, caring, and detail-oriented to watch your pets, we highly recommend Elizabeth. She’s the best! 🐶💛

About: We provide boarding for your cat or dog in a family-based environment. We try to keep a structured and caring home environment for pets while their owners are away. Our goal is to keep the experience for you and your pet as safe and stress free as possible. Additionally, I have First Aid and CPR Certification for cats and dogs. I am also Fear Free Certified. Being Fear Free Certified means I was trained to look at subtle signs of stress in dogs and cats before they escalate. As well as techniques to make interactions with dogs and cats less stressful. My husband works from home, and I'm also at home with my children. During the school year I do drop off and pick up for the kids. My husband is home at this time. Therefore, dogs are generally always supervised, although there may be brief periods of time we are all out of the home. We have an area designated for the dogs in our home. This helps reduce the risk of escaping and helps keep them more safe. We also have a fenced in backyard. However, we always supervise interactions in the backyard between dogs or when the dogs are alone.

About: I’ve cared for and have loved dogs for the past 20 years. I have experience with dogs and with diabetes and other special care needs. I’m currently a hybrid worker with a flexible schedule allowing me to work from home anytime. I will communicate with owners if there is any reason I would need to be away from their pet for more than 4 hours. I currently do not have any pets. I live in a second story condo with plenty of walking paths in the neighborhood and a dog park close by. My house is a calm environment for anxious pets.

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs, cats, horses, and all sorts of pets for most of my life. From Great Danes to Shih Tzus I love all the puppies! I have a miniature bernedoodle and a Shih Tzu currently that I raised from puppies and they are very well behaved. I have watched an older dog who needed liquid IVs and pills and everything went well with him. I currently have three dogs at home. I work part time and can schedule work every week based around what I am doing, so I am pretty much always available as long as it’s about a week in advance. I can be at home as much as needed! I have three friendly dogs (two don’t like to play much but one loves to play) at home and no cats in the house. We do potty breaks every couple of hours which consists of just letting the dogs out in the yard which is not fenced in. Whenever I watch dogs at the house, I am always certain to take the dogs out on leash. If the puppers aren’t the best on leash that’s alright as well, I just use a harness or whatever the owners provide.

FAQs for House Sitting - Azalia

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,183 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Azalia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Azalia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Azalia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Azalia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Azalia. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
