“Maria was wonderful with our puppy. This was the longest we had to leave him, and it was nice to know he was in good hands. I really appreciated the updates and pictures. And he had the best time!”

“So kind and accommodating! Piper had a great time with Deb and Malcomb! Thank you for taking care of piper while we traveled to a family reunion out of state. Knowing that piper was in a home environment with dog lovers made us feel at ease. Deb was very good at sharing pictures and keeping us updated daily on our Miss Piper. A+ experience. Will highly recommend and will use in future. This was our very first Rover.com experience and it was good! Thank you!!”

“Andrew took amazing care of our dog!! He was extremely proactive ahead of time by doing a meet and greet and accommodating specific requests. He communicated regularly during the stay with pictures and videos. He went above and beyond by reinforcing our dog’s training during his stay. Andrew took it in stride when our dog rolled in something smelly and returned him to us bathed and happy :)”

“Otis had the BEST time with Jennifer and her family. Not only did he have constant fun (running in the grass, playing frisbee, and playing with Donald), snuggles, and love, but he also dipped his toes in the water. Before that, Otis would evade water! Jennifer was so kind and extremely communicative throughout and took some awesome photos of Otis. She treated Otis with the utmost care and love (just like he was her own pup)! Highly recommend to book with Jennifer! Otis was at a fun and wellness retreat essentially for the week!!”

“If you’re fortunate enough to have the opportunity for Aunt Janelle to watch your pups, you absolutely should! She took our athletic, high energy dog on walks, played fetch, and spoiled him rotten with love and cuddles!! She sent photos and videos of Cody having a great time throughout his stay. It was easy to enjoy my trip knowing that Janelle was taking such great care of our fur son. I could go on for days about how she’s the best choice to watch your pup-from start to finish. She cares about the safety of every dog she watches and doesn’t accept pets that she doesn’t trust. Thank you so much for taking in our big baby boy and treating him like your own!!!”

“Jaimee took excellent care of my dog Duna while I went to Colorado for a long weekend. She was easy to work with vis-a-vis setting up drop off and pick up and provided regular updates and pictures of Duna's time with her. Duna is a bit quirky but she seemed happy and relaxed in Jaimee's care. I recommend Jaimee without reservations.”

“Kayden is our regular dog sitter and is fantastic! Our Golden Retriever loves going to play with the other dogs and is always so excited to go. Kayden also provides regular updates and photos to let us know how our pup is doing. I definitely recommend.”

“Heather was great with our sweet Copper. She was flexible, and accommodating to our vacation schedule and provided regular puppy updates! Copper came home happy and healthy!”

“Allan is great, very communicative and kind. I never worried about my dog Penny the entire weekend and was able to enjoy myself. Definitely would recommend Allan, and I will be a repeat customer.”

“I was a bit of a scheduling disaster but Katie was absolutely amazing. My dog loves her and I could tell she had a good time. Katie has a huge yard for the dogs to run around in and you can tell she runs a tight ship. I felt incredibly comfortable and safe leaving my baby in her care.”

“Teresa did an awesome job taking care of Winston. She took him for plenty of walks and sent several pictures during his stay. Winston was a very happy dog at Teresa’s house, and we have already booked another stay.”

“Jennifer was absolutely amazing with Apollo. She even slept in the guest room with him so he would feel fully comfortable and have all the cuddles he needed. She took excellent care of him and sent lots of photos of him having a great time on nice walks, playing tug, and getting cuddles. I fully trusted that she would take care of him not just physically but emotionally too. She’s incredible.”

“Jennifer was amazing with my dog, Pablo! She cared for him like he was her own and kept me updated every day with photos and notes, which gave me so much peace of mind. Pablo was happy, well-loved, and so comfortable with her. I highly recommend Jennifer to anyone looking for a trustworthy and loving sitter!”

About: I’ve had three dogs of my own over the years - two cocker spaniels and a patterdale terrier. I’ve also done housesitting and dog sitting for friends and family. I really love getting to know a dog’s individual spirit / personality - and I’m fascinated by how our two species can connect. My wife and I work from home with generally flexible schedules / meetings not longer than 90 minutes. We like to stay active by walking and running and would love to have a pup along! We have a fenced yard and can accommodate a crate if provided. We’re happy to have well-behaved dogs with us in the office while we’re working!
“Paula is great. She provides a clean house, has expertise to keep order over the dogs, and has a great fenced yard. This was my first occasion boarding my beloved Bo, and was glad to be able to leave him in a place where he would get to hang with other good-natured dogs and have a yard to play for a change. Paula attended to our needs and my concerns. I wish she were closer for general "play dates", but if you are going to/from DTW, it's a very easy drop off and pick up.”

“My wife and I were traveling out of town and couldn't bring our dog Chloe with us. We found Andria and her husband here on Rover and felt that they would be a great fit with Chloe, and boy, we were right! Once we booked, she suggested a meet-and-greet, and we really appreciated that. We discussed expectations for boarding and Chloe's needs and routines. When it was time for Chloe's stay, drop off was stress-free, and we felt confident driving away that Chloe was in good hands. During our travels, we received regular photo updates of Chloe's adventures during her stay. We also appreciated Andria and her family including Chloe in their daily routine and providing enrichment, so that Chloe wasn't just sitting in the house by herself. When we picked Chloe up, we got a full rundown of Chloe's stay. We could tell Chloe had a great time with them. I would highly recommend Andria as a Rover provider, especially for boarding. And, for those flying in and out of DTW, definitely consider Andria since she's close to DTW airport!”

“Dawn was great! We got updated with pictures and video. Bella really enjoyed her time. I highly recommend Dawn and I will be reaching out to her on our next trip away. Thank you, Dawn 🐾”

“Anya and Tye are wonderful with our dog and take great care of her. They were flexible as we worked out a pickup time when coming back from out of town, and our dog had a great time. Highly recommend!”

You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
95% of sitters in Azalia can provide daily exercise during dog boarding stays. Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, this may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Azalia home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Azalia.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Azalia. On Rover:
- 90% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
You and your Azalia sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
Adding another pup to the pack? Most sitters and walkers offer a reduced rate for additional dogs. You’ll find these exact rates listed under the "Services" tab on any sitter's profile. Since every dog is unique, final pricing may vary depending on the level of care required.
