“Having a 19 year old cat, we did not want to leave her with just anyone while we were anyway. Daniel was willing to come by for a meet and greet to make sure he was a good match. He was excellent to work with for set up and came by on schedule and spent time feeding and providing company in our absence. Daniel provided pictures for each visit which was comforting. If you are looking for someone who is dependable and friendly with your pet, he is your person.”

About: I have experience previous experience with animals. I have little over a year experience working at a dog daycare gaining daily hands-on experience with dogs of all kinds. I also have three fur babies of my own—two cats and one dog—so caring for animals is a big part of my everyday life and something I truly love. I currently work at Dogtopia of Manassas, but I make sure to schedule my time so I can still give pets plenty of attention and care. Whether it’s before or after my shifts or on my days off, I’m dedicated to being reliable and making sure your pets feel loved, comfortable, and well taken care of. I am very attentive when it comes to pet care and always prioritize safety, comfort, and overall well-being. I follow routines carefully, provide a safe and clean environment, and make sure each pet gets the right balance of exercise, attention, and rest. I also stay alert to any changes in behavior to ensure they remain happy and healthy while in my care.
“Shaye is amazing - a dog’s best friend! She took the time to meet Scooter in advance of our visit and it was immediately apparent what a dog-lover she was (and how much our dog loved her too.). She arrived right on time to walk and care for Scooter and gave us pics and updates. Fantastic caregiver for our fur baby!”

“Alex took such great care of Nellie, sending updates & photos and going above and beyond snuggling with her and taking her on good walks. So glad I found him!! Nellie has a new best friend”
“Leigh came and did check-ins with our senior cat for a week. Our cat has some medications and special food requirements and Leigh took it in stride. I also really appreciated her communication and timely updates! Coordinating meet and greet and check-in times was smooth. We will definitely be booking with Leigh again!”

“Samantha is fantastic! We have enlisted her help a few times now and she’s wonderful. I highly recommend reaching out to her to help you watch your pet! She has come by our home a few times and can be trusted!”

About: Everyone knows me as the animal person. One time, a coworker found an abandoned guinea pig on the way to work and brought it to me, knowing I would drop everything to give her care. I've volunteered as a foster for countless kittens and several puppies. As I find myself currently between pets, I have found a lot of joy in providing pet care services for friends and family! I am currently a full-time engineering student working from home. My daily and weekly schedules are extremely flexible, allowing me to prioritize your pet's needs and stick with their familiar routines in your absence. I take time to learn each pet’s routine, preferences, and needs, and provide attentive care including feeding, walks, playtime, companionship, and medication as directed. I prioritize gentle, patient handling and aim to keep daily life as normal and comfortable as possible while their owners are away, with thoughtful updates provided along the way.
“Nadia was the absolute greatest! Went above and beyond for our cat (Chino)! She took care of her and showed her so much love for a whole week and also cleaned for us as well! Nadia provides lots of details and kept my wife and I updated on everything as well. Definitely recommend Nadia!!”

“Dee and David were wonderful taking care of our little Ms Fiona. They gave her the extra little care she needed as she was mourning the very recent loss of her buddy Siri. Dee and David are very professional and so pleasant so work with! Will continue to keep them at the top of my list!! Thank you both!! You are the best!!”

About: I grew up in a pet loving home, where at any given time we had at least two cats and one dog living under our roof. As young as 12 years old, I was entrusted by neighbors to pet sit, and I took part in caring for and training my own family pets. I now have 4 cats and a dog of my own, and I promise to love and care for your fur babies as I would for my own. I’m currently working part time as a dog groomer, however my schedule is very unstructured, so it changes from week to week. Usually however, I’m only working 2-3 days a week, which leaves my schedule wide open to spend my days with your fur babies! I am unable to care for any additional animals in my own home, however I would be more than happy to watch your babies in your home! I would ensure your home was treated with respect and would do my part in keeping it clean. I’d be able to crate your pups if desired, as well as clean litter boxes, as well as any other care-taking tasks required.
“Maddy is great! I felt our cat was in great hands the whole time we were gone. She’s very professional, responsive and Belle clearly loved being around her. 10 out of 10 recommend.”

“there's no one I would trust more than Melika with my dogs. they absolutely love her and she's so so good with them I never have to worry when they're with her”

“Caroline was absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond taking care of my cat Lucy. As soon as we met Caroline I knew it was a match... she was immediately on the floor playing with her and Lucy instantly loved her. I will feel comfortable anytime I go out of town leaving Lucy in her care because I know she will be loved on and cared for like I was there myself. She's wonderful!”

“Last minute request due to sister coming into town to run the Marine Corps Marathon. So appreciative of Samantha being available! Great communicator and Winnie seems very comfortable with her. Will continue to use.”

About: I have 5 years of experience in caring for guinea pigs, hamsters, dogs as well as cats. I am familiar with feeding schedules and cleanup. I’m currently home for the summer from college so i’ll have all day to care for your furry friends! I’m available weekdays starting at 8am-8pm & am also available for overnight care. My weekends are completely free too. I provide personalized care tailored to each pet by following their routine closely ensuring their fed, safe, and given plenty of affection. I also monitor their behavior and well being.

I had an excellent experience! Emily was incredibly kind, communicative, and took wonderful care of my cats. I came home to happy, well-cared-for animals, and the flowers she left as a thank-you were such a thoughtful and unexpected touch. I would absolutely book with Emily again and highly recommend her to anyone on Rover.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
