About: I grew up with dogs all around me. My household, my families' households, I was never around any less than three pets at a time! I've taken care of dogs, cats, horses, birds, lizards, fish, rats, and pretty much any other pet you can think of over the years. I like to humbly boast my knowledge of care and training working with disability dogs. From wheelchair assistance to emotional support, I’ve worked with all manner of dogs from all ages! I work part-time at Lime Rock Park, and will be available during most weekdays because of this! Outside of major events I can also sit during weekends given prior notice. Unfortunately I am not currently available to sit at my own home, however I am more than happy to provide extended time for nightly stays given this! Please feel free to ask. Safety is always my #1 priority. Fun and enrichment is my #1.5! Your pet will be well treated to plenty of play time, restful naps, and as many treats as you will allow them to have!
“Claire was *fantastic*! She took incredible care of our menagerie for five nights/6 days: three mid size dogs (50-60lb); two older, each on a number of medications, and a very spunky 5yo. We also have three cats including a frail 15 yo; and 9 hens. We live in an old farmhouse that is in various stages of renovation - for sure, not the easiest for house sitting. Thankfully Claire was undaunted by the challenge. During our time away, she was terrific providing updates and was super quick with replies when I had the additional need to check in- super reassuring, especially give that this was our first time with Rover, and having a combined housesitter/animal sitter at this house. We returned home to a very content crew - the truest sign of being well cared for in our absence, and the house in perfect order- seemingly better than we left it. About: Dogs have always been part of my family, from Beagles to Bullies & up to three in a home at a time. Friends, family (& now clients!) have trusted me with caring for their animals on a fairly regular basis doing anything from food/bathroom check-ins to walks, dog park visits & assisting with training. I'm big on positive reinforcement to bring out the best in them. Experienced walking three medium/large dogs at once. Comfortable with elderly dogs & their needs, including handling seizures & the appropriate care. Currently open to just about anything. I'm recovering from health issues & trying to ramp up my activity until I'm able to return to my career as a creative pro. I treat them as their own beings & not 'just' pets by understanding their physical, mental & emotional requirements, doing my best to meet or exceed them. About: I have both professional and personal pet care experience as I have worked at a kennel in the past and have owned pets my entire life.
