“Kimberly was wonderful and was able to help us out last minute! She clearly cares for animals and was attentive to what my cat needed! She also cleaned up broken glass that the cat knocked off the counter and brought in a package for us. Thank you Kimberly!”

“She was awesome taking care of our cats! She’s very good at giving oral medication so I felt comfortable with her giving meds to our boy. Thank you so much!!”

About: My name is Allison, and I live in Litchfield with my two adorable dogs - Jackson, who is a 12-year-old Boston Terrier, and Mojo, who is a 12-year-old Boston Terrier/Pug mix. I have been providing pet care services for more than a decade now, and I take great pride in offering compassionate and loving care to all animals. It all started in 2010 when I launched my own Pet Sitting and Dog Walking business. Through this business, I have been able to offer pets superior care services in the comfort of their own homes. Five years ago, I decided to expand my knowledge and education on the canine mind, and I became a certified dog trainer. My training is focused on using positive reinforcement to improve the quality of life of both the four-legged fur babies and their two-legged parents. I would like to be able to share my love and compassion for animals with you and your fur babies. Wags, Allison My business is working with animals and as a dog trainer I love to enrich the lives of other animals in any way I can. Compassionate Canine Care is my goal with every animal. I believe in establishing a genuine connection with all the animals I train or take care of. Providing them with the best possible care is crucial to me, as it helps them lead a happy and healthy life for as long as they are with us.
“We are so happy we had Anna to take care of our two dogs! She was very easy to communicate with and dependable. She took great care of our two large dogs, and they seemed very happy when we returned home. Would recommend her and use her again!”

About: I provide, as well as top-notch care,a uniquely adaptive music therapy session for your pet so that even the most high-strung pets can feel relaxed and reassured by the sound of live classical piano music. A professional musician,I have also raised a litter of 10 puppies and have owned at least one dog at every point in my life.I am a consummate pet lover with 2 dogs currently. If your animal is a bit of a loner I can provide sequestered accommodations. I have a 16 year old who also loves animals; she as well has never lived without a dog. One of her passions is horseback riding and through this activity she has achieved a gentle but commanding demeanor around most animals. Between the two of us your pet will never lack a playmate! My work schedule allows for either me or my daughter to always be at home, so the pets have round the clock love and attention. I have a fenced in yard, and a house with plenty of space for pets to hang out. My 2 dogs are very friendly and are used to visiting dogs.
“Lynsey is the best! She took great care of my pups and I would definitely use her again in the future! Some nice pictures of them during the visit, a detailed report, and message. It's hard leaving your fur family at home but it was made easier knowing they were in great hands with Lynsey!”

About: I love being with animals and have experience caring for a wide range of pets, including dogs, cats, jumping sliders, and lizards. I enjoy learning each animal’s personality and making sure they’re comfortable and well cared for. I am a student who goes to college out of state but is home for the month of January and is also working part time. Since losing a dog of my own I figured this would be a great opportunity to help others with their pets and still have a great time with animals. I do have a fenced in yard if I take dogs into my home but in other peoples homes, listening to the guardian is most important to me on how they coexist with their pet and respecting that. At the end of the day I want to help people care for their pets.

“Robin is superb at handling multiple dogs who all want attention at the same time. it can be a chore just getting through the house and she is a true dog whisperer. we look forward to future visits!!”

About: I grew up with dogs all around me. My household, my families' households, I was never around any less than three pets at a time! I've taken care of dogs, cats, horses, birds, lizards, fish, rats, and pretty much any other pet you can think of over the years. I like to humbly boast my knowledge of care and training working with disability dogs. From wheelchair assistance to emotional support, I’ve worked with all manner of dogs from all ages! I work part-time at Lime Rock Park, and will be available during most weekdays because of this! Outside of major events I can also sit during weekends given prior notice. Unfortunately I am not currently available to sit at my own home, however I am more than happy to provide extended time for nightly stays given this! Please feel free to ask. Safety is always my #1 priority. Fun and enrichment is my #1.5! Your pet will be well treated to plenty of play time, restful naps, and as many treats as you will allow them to have!
“This was our first timing leaving WallE since COVID. Angela is super sweet. WallE and Angela hit it off immediately. She took extra care of our sweet boy while we were away for the weekend. She provided excellent notes/updo and pictures of our sweet boy. Thank you so very much, Angela!!!”

“She did a wonderful job eith my cats. They did hide on her but if I had her a few more days I am sure they would have liked her. If there is ever a time when I need a cat sitter again, I will hire her again”

“Tara is so professional and reliable. Her warm personality comes shining through. This is the second time Tara looked after our very shy cat, Charlie. We came home to happy cat. Charlie's space was tidy and clean. My husband and I have every confidence in Tara. We cannot say enough positive comments about her. We will ask for Tara every time we go away.”

“Went away for our end of the year camping trip and this was my first time using Rover. I knew from the start Theresa would be a great candidate when I saw her profile and all her reviews. Mako didn't go camping, but was a happy camper when I got home. Thank you for providing love and of course food while we were gone. Hope to rebook with you again next year! 🐾”

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Litchfield stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.
Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Litchfield. On Rover:
- 95% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
