“While we were stranded due to the recent storm, Nicole went above and beyond - even paying someone with a big truck to bring her so she could take care of our fur babies. She is very dedicated and responsible, and we really appreciate her so very much!! We highly recommend her!”

“Jessica provided excellent care during drop-in visits for my senior kitty. She's a great communicator, took lots of pics and was willing to go the extra mile when there was a small issue. My kitty seemed very happy when I got home. Five stars all around and highly recommend. Thanks, Jessica!”

“You did an excellent job with Karma while I was out of town for 3 days. She kept me updated on her as well as the pics sent to me. It made me feel better and relieved to know she’s doing good. I’ll use her again when I go out of town❤️”

About: I grew up dog sitting for my neighbor pretty often. They'd leave for trips every few months and I got to dog sit for them while they were away. Feeding, taking him out for potty, and occasionally going on walks too. Not to mention I've had dogs and cats of my own through the years so I'm pretty versed in pet care for most kinds of common pets. Currently i am working part time as a manager, so most often I am scheduled to work the second half of the week, but even then I can make pet visits before or after work. I keep them close on a leash when we go for walks, make sure not to over feed them, and I make sure to be sweet and patient with them during baths.
“Chelsea was great with our dogs and I felt very comfortable leaving them in her care. She was very prompt everytime she came, followed the instructions I had left for her and gave my oldest dog his medication twice a day as needed. You could tell the boys were happy in the pictures that were sent to us after each visit. Chelsea responded quickly when I texted too. I will be requesting Chelsea again when we need pet visits and I would recommend her to others. Thanks Chelsea!”

“Bridget is great with our 8 year old terrier mix who has severe separation anxiety. It gives us peace of mind knowing she’s taking great care of him when we’re not able to be there!”

“Amy has been a great help to us! As a nurse my schedule can be unpredictable - but she is always reliable, kind and nurturing towards our dogs! I’m so grateful to have her around to help us with our two large and hyper dogs!”

About: I had a German Shepherd for 14 years. Best friend I ever had. Loyal, protective, never argued or talked back and were always happy to see me! I am retired and make my own schedule. Mornings or evenings. Love dogs. Enjoy walking. They give me joy and serenity and I totally enjoy it. I have a mostly fenced in yard at this point but believe I can seal it off if necessary. Follow instructions to the point and respect property of others and am responsible.
“Makayla did an outstanding job, We were away on vacation for a whole week and had her look in on the animals/house twice a day. She proved herself to be very loving and responsible! She was able to follow a detailed list of rules and responsibilities & my animals took to her very quickly which is especially unusual for my cat! Highly recommend 10/10!”

“Ashley is a lifesaver. this is our first visit with Ashley and everything went as planned which was a great piece of mind for me. Looking forward to many other visits from Ashley.”

About: I’ve grown up always having cats and dogs, and I value their companionship more than anything! Not only have I taken care of my own fur babies, but I’ve had other family members and friends ask for my time to take care of their pets while they were away, which is why I decided to come here and make myself useful to you! I’m currently in school for my undergraduate degree, so taking care of animals is a great full time position for me and helps me better understand different animals’ needs! My parents have two pug/pekingese mix at home that I frequently sit for, and they’re also crate trained. They’re also used to potty breaks every two hours in my parents’ fenced in yard. We also have cats which I take care of and we clean their litter boxes twice a day.
“Lorie did a phenomenal job taking care of my 5 precious kitties while I was away. She is a beautiful soul with an exceptionally kind and sparkly personality. She was really diligent about arriving as arranged and making sure the cats were tended to. I always looked forward to seeing the updates after she visited and she did a fabulous job of providing me with lots of pictures of my furry sweethearts. She was also very accommodating when our plans changed unexpectedly and patient when we had issues with our security system. I hope she would come back again to pet sit for us if needed in the future! Thank you again for everything, Lorie. You are wonderful!”

Caitlin was able to schedule visits with my dogs on very short notice to give them some free time while I was at work. She has been on point with communication and punctuality. She has truly been a godsend at a very stressful time in my home. Thanks so much, Caitlin!
Olivia is overall the best of the best with my furbabies, flexible, great attitude, plays with them and gives lots of attention to them bc they are very needy! Lol I would highly recommend Liv to watch your animals, she’s very friendly, easy going and goes above and beyond 🐾💜

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
