About: I have taken care of family members dogs since I was little, whenever they go out for a day or for a week I dog sit for them. I have a lot of time during the week to dog sit because I am a stay at home mom and take walks every day. I have plenty of room in my house for them to take a nap and eat after a walk, I also have a fenced yard they can play in.

Katie was absolutely wonderful! She watched our dogs, Nico and Nora, while we were on vacation, and we couldn’t have asked for a better sitter. She was always punctual, incredibly patient, kind, and genuinely loving with both of our dogs. She also made such a great impression during our meet-and-greet by being so sweet and patient with my little girl, which meant a lot to us. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing our dogs were in such caring hands while we were away. Katie is truly a wonderful person, and I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy, compassionate pet sitter!

About: I have taken care of animals my whole life. Family and friends have relied on me for decades to take care of their animals. Growing up on a farm helped give me a lifelong affinity for animals. I’m a teacher who is off all summer. I have plenty of time to fill and would love to look after your animals, either in my home, as a drop in, or just a walk. I have a fenced in backyard, two amazing labs who love other dogs, and a wife and daughter who love dogs as much as I do.

About: For as long as I can remember I have taken care of, rescued, and cared for animals. Through out my life I have over all had 18 animals in my house hold (at one point in time 8 cats all under the same roof) and I have often helped taken care of animals of family and friends. I have checked in on dogs for noon outside time and potty breaks as well as stayed at a home for as long as a month to take care of a cat. I have experience with pets in all stages of life and in handling animals with different temperaments. I have also given animals medications (from diabetic shots to thyroid pills to special prescription food) and I am very active in taking care of them. Currently I have one dog and three cats that I share with my partner, all of whom I have taken care of from early on in their lives. I am currently in between jobs so most days and times I am available. I do share a car but we always work together to figure out who can use the car when. Just let me know what you need and when and I will work with you to figure out a schedule that works for both of us. I am very respectful of other's homes, making sure things are clean and nothing is messed up. Whether your fur baby tore up a rug or I accidentally broke something, there will be full transparency on what happened while you're away. I can send daily text check ins and don't mind being called daily to ensure everything is alright, your animals are family and I will treat them as such. Any house rules or animal schedules you have set I will abide by. I will give your animal full attention and do what I can to give them what they need.

About: I’ve loved animals my entire life and have experience caring for dogs of different sizes and personalities. Friends, family, and neighbors have trusted me to walk, feed, play with, and care for their pets while they’re away. I understand that every dog has different needs, whether that’s an energetic walk, extra patience, or plenty of love and attention. I’m dependable, detail-oriented, and will always treat your pet like they’re my own. I’ll make sure they get the exercise, care, and affection they deserve while keeping you updated with photos and messages after every visit. Pets aren’t just pets to me they’re family. Spending time with them genuinely brings me happiness, and nothing is more rewarding than seeing a wagging tail and a happy pup. I’m available for evening walks and weekends, and my goal is to make every walk safe, fun, and full of attention, play, and care. I’ll treat your dog like they’re my own, so you can feel confident they’re in loving, reliable hands. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I always follow your care instructions, keep dogs securely leashed during walks, and pay close attention to their behavior and surroundings. About: While I’m newer to professional pet care, I’ve always loved animals and taken time to learn how to properly care for them. I’m patient, responsible, and very attentive to instructions. I’m comfortable following feeding schedules, giving fresh water, cleaning up after pets, taking safe walks, and providing playtime and affection. I understand how important pets are to their families, and I make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for at all times. It’s flexible, low stress, and you can choose what works for me When caring for pets in a client’s home, I focus on keeping their routine as normal and stress free as possible. I carefully follow all instructions for feeding, walks, playtime, medications, and bedtime routines. I make sure your pet has fresh water, a clean space, and plenty of attention. I provide gentle play, calm companionship, and safe supervision during visits. I also send updates and photos so you can feel comfortable knowing your pet is being well cared for while you’re away. Jorinee was excellent with both of my cats. I am so glad I found her. I use to be concerned about who would look after my fur babies or even if I would be able to travel at all. My cats were very comfortable with her. They were relaxed, well fed and their litter box was clean. You can tell it was done on a consistent basis. I have another lengthy vacation for next year and will no doubt be requesting her. She is excellent and I would recommend her to anyone asking.

Whether you’re at the office for the day or traveling for a few nights, a pet sitter can offer potty breaks during a Lansing stroll, cleaning the litter box, or making sure your pet has on-time food or water refills. For daytime services like walking and drop-ins, you can also request sitters to send a report card with every visit.

Tip: You can discuss your specific arrangements with a pet sitter on Rover to what fits you, your pet, and your sitter’s needs. To find what their special skills are, look at the "Skills" and "Pet care experience" sections on their profile.

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lansing choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking. Recurring services come with their own perks, such as flexibility to modify services (up to five weeks in advance), automatic billing, Rover Card updates, and same-day cancellations.

To find sitters in Lansing with recurring or weekly availability, select "Repeat Weekly" and which days you’d like them to care for your pet.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lansing. On Rover:

  • 89% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
