“Frances was Wonderful taking care of my babies while I was on vacation. I was gone for 5 days, and have two dogs….a German Shepherd and a Boxer, and they were well taken care of. I would highly recommend Frances for any of your dog sitting needs and will definitely use her again!”

“Katelyn was amazing with our 3 pups! She kept us updated the whole time and sent lots of pictures. She even checked on our two cats with no extra charge! Our animals loved her and seemed to be very comfortable with her while we were away. We will definitely have her stay with our pets in the future.”

“Jan took great care of our kitty baby! She stayed at our house, sent photo updates, put clean sheets on our bed so we literally got home and the house was cleaner than we left it. Her quiet energy is just what we needed. Can’t say enough good things about our experience with Jan!”

About: Although I don’t have professional pet-sitting experience yet, I have experience caring for my own senior pet and understand the importance of patience, consistency, and paying attention to an animal’s needs. Caring for an older pet has taught me to recognize changes in behavior, follow routines closely, and provide comfort and companionship. I am dependable, eager to learn, and committed to treating every pet with the same level of care and attention I give my own Pet care can come at just about any time for me! I am just always happy & willing to fit a cute face into my routine:) I don’t work during the summer. During the school year I work 630am-1230pm Safe, gentle & healthy pet care is always crucial. In my home & others homes… I make sure to give pets a safe and exciting environment as much as I possibly can. Something I believe is vital is trust. I always want the animals I take care of to trust me & feel safe.

About: i’m 20 years old and very interactive when it comes to animals. i have been surrounded by animals of all sort my whole life. i have a 9 year Chihuahua and a 2 year old texas heeler of my own. also a 9 year old gelding(my profile picture) i’d like to say im good with high energy animals, shy, and nervous. my heeler is very nervous and can come across as aggressive but he’s never hurt anyone or any dogs. he’s more clingy but loves to ride around and help with outside chores. i’m using rover as a side job due to being in school for vet tech! i try my best to make as much time for any requests from clients in need! i grew up being the type of person to always volunteer at humane societies, helping strays, and taking in animals in need. i’ve owned rabbits, hamsters, lizards, fish, cats, and sugar gliders. i’m more than open minded no matter the size or breed and am always willing to learn about animals! please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests! thank you so much as of right now, i am taking classes at icc for vet tech and looking to make a little extra money so most days im available. i can always arrange my schedule to fit needs as much as possible. with my heeler, he goes a lot of places with me, especially the barn! he’s high energy so days were not at the barn, we’re outside playing with toys, going to tractor supply to take baths, picking out toys, or he has other furry friends at home to play with.
“Correy has an instant rapport with dogs. Within minutes Chester was sitting by his feet. He followed all instructions to the t and followed up with us to ensure that we were able to arrive at home as expected. I highly recommend him, and we will use his services again.”

About: I've had dogs most of my adult life and have provided care from the puppy phase to end of life. Dogs bring me incredible joy, and I consider it a privilege to spend time with them. I sometimes forget people's names I meet, but I have never forgotten a dog's name! I just adore them. I am available to pet sit at your home overnight. I also offer other services including 30 minute dog walks and 30-45 minute drop-in visits to check on your dog, feed him, and provide play time. I work full time Monday - Friday and usually get home about 6pm. I am available evenings, overnights and weekends to pet sit or provide drop-ins and dog walks. I always had sitters stay in my home when I had a dog because it helped my dog to have his own environment and routine when I was away. I am available to provide pet care in your home to provide this same comfort for your dog.

“Mason did a great job pet-sitting our dogs! She is very kind and our pups love her! She is reliable, kept the house tidy, and communicated with us very consistently!”

About: I have had dogs and cats in my life since I was a child. Every animal I meet likes me quickly. I have a knack with them. Even when they don't like other people, I win them over. For the last 5 years I have been caring for my senior, diabetic, miniature poodle. That requires being vigilant about what and when he eats as well as giving him an insulin shot after each meal. I can take care of high-maintenance animals as well as easy-going pets. I'm currently working part-time from my home. I have plenty of time to spend with my furry friends. I am available during the day, or evenings. For the right client, I would be willing to stay in your home overnight. I walked dogs daily for 2 clients when I was living in Bangkok, Thailand. They trusted me with keys to their home so I could come and go during the day M-F. There was never a problem.
“Heather did an absolutely phenomenal job caring for our pets while we were away. She kept us updated with lots of photos and regular communication, which gave us so much peace of mind. Any concerns or questions were communicated promptly, and she was always professional and responsive. When we returned home, our animals were happy, well cared for, and it was clear they had received plenty of attention and love. Heather was also incredibly respectful of our home, furniture, and belongings, leaving everything in great condition. I would not hesitate to book Heather again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, trustworthy, and caring pet sitter. Thank you, Heather, for taking such wonderful care of our fur babies! 🐾❤️”

“We are repeat, bookers and love Amanda‘s care for our big girl and our home. She is absolutely respectful and wonderful to our dog and it’s flexible as you can be. We are grateful for her.”

“Kaileigh takes great care of our dog, and is regularly in touch with photos and updates. She has house sat twice for us, and we’d happily have her again, and heartily recommend her to others!”

“Jenny was absolutely amazing with our girls! 1 of them is very skittish around people and she responded well very quickly to her. Thank you for caring for our whole group (which includes a stray cat who calls us home now) We completely appreciate you!”

“Teegan kept me informed of how the dogs were doing and got my picky older dog to eat, which is a battle. Sent me pictures of them and my apt was in great shape when I arrived home after 6 days. Would definitely rebook.”

I will always make sure to treat your furry friends with nothing but love and attention when in my care. I work full time 9/5 but am available in the morning and after work and of course on the weekends. If needed and close enough I can check in on my lunch . About: I’m a responsible and trustworthy sitter who’s cared for all kinds of dogs—big, small, energetic, or shy. Breed doesn’t matter to me—I’ve walked and cared for them all with patience and love. Neighbors and families know they can count on me to show up, follow instructions, and keep their pets safe, happy, and loved while they’re away. I treat every pet like my own and always make sure they get the attention and care they need. I have lots of time to spend with your dogs! I look forward to meeting ur precious pup! Thank you so much for trusting me! I have a fenced backyard. The backyard has lots of space to let their energy out I award them for good behavior. Plenty of toys to play with too.
About: I grew up in an animal loving family that treats our pets just as that: family. I have experience caring for and loving both cats and dogs! Most of the cats that have joined my family were rescues or strays. I always used to get in trouble with my mom because I would come home with a new kitten I found on the side of the road. My hopes are to help the sweet babies get better and then find them a happy home, but if I could just keep them all myself, I would! I have taken care of both dogs and cats since I was younger. Friends and family have relied on me to take care of their pets by walking, feeding, bathing and playing with them. I have experience with small, medium and big dogs of all different breeds. I’m currently working part time at a restaurant in the evenings so I’m available to do drop-ins any day between 6am-2pm! Availability for house sitting will vary. I have 2 indoor cats myself back home, so I am used to scooping/changing a litter box. I also have a dog at home with a fenced back yard for him to run around and do his business. One of my cats is named Kitty. She is very prissy and high maintenance. She has to have a fountain/ flowing water to drink out of or she will not drink water. She is not very playful but would rather just lounge in the sun. My other cat is Lilo. She is more laid back and playful. She likes to chase her tail a lot. She also loves affection and laying under neath the blankets or bed covers. My dog, Max, is very old and barks at anything and everything, but he is a sweet heart.
“Ted and Sara did an excellent fun/job with The Duke. The Duke has extreme anxiety in a vehicle, so we reached out to Rover and thankfully we found Ted and Ted got The Duke to like him and Ted got to see The Duke’s sweet personality. Ted sent multiple pics and descriptions of the day with The Duke and Ted even mopped our kitchen floor, St Bernards can be very messy. Ted even left us framed pictures of The Duke, so sweet and thoughtful. If we travel again Ted is the one I’ll call and if you need someone who is competent and very good at his job, get Ted”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Landrum on Rover is $156.35 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 1,003 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Landrum. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Landrum walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Landrum maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Landrum choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
