“Brittany was absolutely amazing with Sammy! She took such great care of her, making sure she was walked, fed on time, and comfortable the whole time I was away. I really appreciated the regular updates and all the sweet pictures she sent, which gave me peace of mind. Brittany is incredibly reliable, attentive, and clearly has a lot of love for animals. I highly recommend her and will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future!”

“Justin was great as always! Took care of our fur babies and even watered my garden and took the trash cart to the street for us while we were away! Definitely recommend!”

“I want to start off by saying I have been using Rover since 2020. In VA and now SC. The last two years we have had two wonderful sitters we had been using to help us with our pets. Sadly they both moved a little further away and were unable to help us. That’s we on got on the app and found Grace! I loved that she was local and lived in town close by. Especially that she had experience with large dogs. We couldn’t have asked for a better dog/house sitter! She stayed at our home for 10 days while taking care of our two German Shepherds, our cat, and our Yorkipoo, and she did an amazing job. She was responsible, caring, trustworthy, and treated our pets like they were her own. It gave us such peace of mind knowing our animals were in such good hands while we were away. She also took great care of our home and kept everything in order. We came home to happy, well-cared-for pets and a house exactly as we left it. We would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone dependable and loving to care for their pets and home. We will definitely be reaching out to her again in the future! ❤️🐾 We are so happy we found Grace.”

“Jennifer was amazing with my giant puppy Monty. She was able to get him very comfortable on her first day with him. She was also super flexible when our flight was cancelled last minute and she had to stay an extra night with Monty. Would definitely recommender her to anyone looking for a great sitter!”

“Alina took the BEST care of our cat Sammy. Every morning and night, she sent us pictures and updates on how Sammy was doing. Our cat got sick a couple days before she arrived in our home to watch Sammy so he really didn’t have an appetite and wasn’t drinking as much water. Alina put so much effort into getting Sammy to eat and drink. She even went out a got food that she thought he would like and he loved it. I’m really so grateful for everything she did for Sammy. Through the videos and pictures she sent of Sammy, you could tell how much he loved her. Alina washed everything she used before we got home and cleaned up. She is so caring, loving, and will love your pet as her own. I’ve always been nervous of leaving Sammy with a sitter when we go out of town, I never felt nervous leaving Sammy with Alina. She is so reassuring and great. Thank you Alina for taking such great care of Sammy and our home! 1000000/10 stars!!!❤️”

“Maggie is awesome, my old man dog is very easy going but my hyper growing 8 month puppy I was worried about we had never left him with anyone , he loved her she spent time outside with him to make sure he got his energy out sent us pictures morning and night, when I came home my house was exactly how I left it which is hard to do with hairy children so I believe she swept my floor. She is amazing looking forward to using her next time ❤️”

“Christina was able to help me on very short notice and stayed at my home for an entire week. From the moment she arrived, I felt completely at ease knowing my animals and home were in such capable hands. She was excellent about sending photos and updates throughout my trip, which gave me so much peace of mind. When I returned home, the house was spotless, and all of my animals were happy, healthy, and well cared for. One of the biggest challenges for me is finding someone who is experienced with a variety of animals—not just cats and dogs, but also goats, chickens, guinea fowl, and geese. Christina handled all of them with confidence and care. She is incredibly trustworthy, dependable, and clearly has a genuine love for animals. I am beyond happy with her services and cannot recommend her highly enough. If you’re looking for someone who will care for your pets and home as if they were her own, Christina is the one! ❤️🐾🐐🐓🪿”

“If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Christi was absolutely amazing, giving the best updates and perfectly managing every detail. She created ease for us in ways that went above and beyond pet care, but we also felt confident that our fur baby was treated like a princess. We are so grateful for her level of care and highly recommend!”

About: With over 5 years of hands-on experience, I bring not just a love for dogs, but a deep understanding of their needs at every stage of life. I’ve cared for energetic puppies who need play, structure, and basic training, as well as senior dogs who require patience, medication, and gentle handling. I’m calm, responsible, and detail-oriented, always making sure each dog feels safe, comfortable, and loved. I also pay close attention to each pup’s unique personality and routine, so your dog feels right at home—even when you’re away. Pet care is a natural and fulfilling part of my daily routine. I structure my day to prioritize walks, feeding times, play sessions, and any special care each dog might need. Whether I’m doing drop-in visits or overnight stays, I make sure every pet gets consistent attention, love, and activity throughout the day. My flexible schedule allows me to be fully present and responsive to each dog’s needs, making sure they stay happy, healthy, and well-cared for at all times. When caring for pets in my client’s home, I always treat their space with respect and make sure their pet feels safe and comfortable in their own environment. I follow all instructions closely—whether it’s feeding schedules, walk times, medications, or favorite toys and routines. I make sure pets get plenty of attention, play, and love while keeping their space clean and secure. I also provide regular updates and photos so you can feel at ease while you’re away, knowing your pet is in good hands.
About: I’ve always been an animal lover, and caring for pets is something I genuinely enjoy! I have a cat of my own, Archie, and a dog, Stella, who are completely spoiled, and I’m comfortable caring for both cats and dogs with different personalities and needs. What sets me apart is how much I genuinely care about making pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their people are away. I take the time to learn each pet’s routine, personality, likes, and boundaries rather than treating every visit the same. Whether your pet wants to play, cuddle, go for a walk, or simply have someone nearby, I’m happy to give them the attention they need. I’m responsible, attentive, patient, and will treat your pets and your home with the same care and respect I would want for my own. 🐶🐱💕 I have a flexible schedule and can plan my days around the needs of your pets. I’m happy to coordinate visits, walks, playtime, feeding, and other care around your pet’s normal routine. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I carefully follow your instructions, keep doors and gates secure, maintain their normal routines, and treat your home with respect. I’m attentive to pets’ behavior and needs and will always communicate with you if anything seems unusual.
“Elizabeth is very communicative and will send you frequent updates and photos to keep you updated on your pets. During her time with my dogs, she had to deal with one doggo who wasn’t feeling well and as a result, he made a big mess and then with our fire alarm going off non-stop due to a lack of batteries… ooof. She handled both situations well, cleaning up after the dog, even replacing our fire alarm batteries, and keeping me updated on everything. She is very responsible and takes good care of the doggos!”

As of September 2026, there are 1,970 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lancaster Mill. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lancaster Mill walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lancaster Mill maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lancaster Mill choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
