âI got on Rover purely to give Shell this review. Haha. Imagine the value in a scenario where you call up your mom and say you have to work late, and ask if sheâd drive across town to pick your kid up from school and take care of them for a few hours until youâre free. She doesnât think twice and your mind is completely at ease knowing your kiddo is in good hands. I donât know what itâs like to have kids, but Shell has been more than a dog-sitter. She has been that third, auxiliary parent to my puppy when Iâve needed her! Even to the extent that she drove across town on a Thursday morning on zero notice to pick him up as I scrambled through an offsite work meeting. Also⌠Our pup was only 7 months old and we left him for a week with Shell, cold turkey. He had never stayed with anyone before; risky, I know. She sent pictures and videos every day of his playtime with friends, yummy meal toppers, and when we picked him up, he was as happy as a clam. It has been an immense relief knowing that, whenever we need a break, we can drop Winchester off and he is in great hands. We love our fluffy furball, but being able to drop him off and completely forget about him for a while is pure bliss sometimes. ? I donât really know what else to say other than that I have complete and unwavering faith in Shellâs ability and good intention when it comes to caring for my little guy. I highly recommend bringing your pup to her⌠but hurry, she fills up fast!!â

âTanaisa was amazing! I had a last minute need for some doggy daycare and she took my dogs for the whole day without hesitation. They looked like they had a great day. Iâd gladly book her again!â

âDana and Mark were wonderful! They house has a great backyard space with plenty of room to play and explore, and their pups all got along with mine. They were also very responsive to my quick request and change of schedule, which I really appreciated. They also were very welcoming and warm and helped me feel confident my dog was in good hands. He came back tired and happy! Would definitely go to them again!â

âIf there were more than 5 stars we would give them! Our 4 month old puppy had so much fun that I literally had to pick him up and place him in the car. He did not want to leave. Rosalyn communicates throughout the day and sends awesome pictures (thank you for the action ones!) We will 100% be booking with her again! Thank you Rosalyn!â

About: My husband and I are life-long dog owners and dog lovers. We have an active lifestyle and can give your dog lots of attention and activity. I work part time from home and my husband works from home, so at least one of us is always here for potty breaks and mid-day walks and playtime. I love to run during the week and hike on weekends and would be happy to bring your dog along. We have a fenced yard and plenty of space in our home. Our 2 year old Weimaraner is extremely friendly and playful. We also have two daughters that adore dogs and will give lots of pets and cuddles.
âEmily & Eric took great care of our pups while we were visiting from out of town for a family Christmas party. We appreciate them being so accommodating with the festivities ending a little later than expected. Our fur babies were obviously very comfortable in their home because they are so calm in their crates in the car at the moment. We will definitely leave our girls with Emily and Eric again when we are back in Vancouver!â

âTashi is doing well! Looks forward to going to doggie daycare with Brianna. Today, he tried to sneak out to the car when I left! He loves being around the kids and other dogs. Thank you for taking great care of him!â

Frequent photos are available upon request!
âMaryorie was friendly and great with communication. It was my first rover experience and it was nice to get a picture update after drop off and report about how he did at the end of the day. I appreciate how she did a meet and greet before hand to ensure my dog and her dogs would get along and so that we could get to know her. Looking forward to booking with her again!â

âJames takes very good care of your furry friends. My dog, Hal, had all his needs met while I was out of town. I was periodically updated with how the doggy care was going, including photos updates. Will be returning to James dog services in the future and referring to friends/family. Thank you James.â

About: I've been an animal lover my whole life. I have taken care of all types of animals. Friends and neighbors have always trusted me to take care of their animals, starting at a young age. I have taken in strays, rescued several dogs from shelters. I also volunteered for an animal rescue for several years and have fostered animals from time to time. I am the person who finds the pets at an event and stays with them the whole time. I have experience with dogs, cats including puppies and kittens, seniors, and animals with medical needs. I currently work only about 5-8 hours a week and have plenty of time to cuddle and walk your pets. Spending time with animals is my favorite thing to do. I will walk your dog twice a day, and can also take your pets on drives (with my pet seatbelt and/or car seat) if that's something you would like. Daily belly rubs are always included :) I have a fenced back yard. Pets are welcome to all areas of my home and always allowed on the couches and bed. I also have a comfortable dog car seat for dogs under 50 lbs as well as a collar/harness seatbelt restraint for larger dogs. I will take up to 3 dogs at a time, if your dog loves to be social (My home is two-story, with multiple dog gates should your dog need a break also). If your dog prefers to be the only animal around, please let me know and I'll let you know if I can arrange that.

You can count on me to provide consistent, reliable care whenever you need it! I have a spacious backyard that backs up to a natural habitat, perfect for exploring. While it's not fenced, I can easily leash and supervise your dog to ensure their safety during outdoor adventures. Indoors, they'll enjoy a cozy and comfortable environment, with plenty of attention and playtime. Whether it's a weekend getaway or a daily visit, your dog will feel right at home!
âElaine is great. I had to change my appointment a few times due to work and she was very understanding and flexible. She was able to set up a playdate and we came over and met her, her family and pets. Very communicative throughout the day. I have an elderly pup with bladder cancer and Elaine really cared for her and asked questions throughout the day. I highly recommend and will be using her again.â

âCan I give 6 stars??? Dominique takes such great care of my Beagle while I'm in the office. He loves her so much he starts whining to be let out when we pull in the driveway. đ She sends photos and updates throughout the day, is very flexible on his care needs. I think the most important thing is that I can focus on priorities during the day and not worry over Watson's happiness and safety. I know he's having fun playing with Poppy and friends!â

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,810 sitters on Rover offering Doggy Day Care across Lambert. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your petâwhether thatâs early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Lambert commute.
If your schedule changes, itâs best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dogâs fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0â7 kilograms and/or 7â18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pupâs socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dogâs pack, check the sitterâs profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dogâs vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitterâs care.
Many sitters in WA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, youâre adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justiceâs National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Roverâs commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 1,810 sitters in Lambert, 89% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
