“Jasmin is a dream pet sitter. She took excellent care of our pups and was extremely courteous and respectful staying in our house, helping out in various ways. You can tell how much she loves dogs and that she is a kind and thoughtful person. There is no question we will book with her again if she is available but I worry she will quickly become the most popular pet sitter on Rover.”

“I quite literally could not say enough wonderful things about my experience using Kristen to housesit for me and my fur babies while I was out of town. I am so particular about who I let watch them when I am gone and she exceeded ALL expectations.”

“Patience was the absolute best while watching my two dogs! She sent several updates throughout the day with videos and photos of the doggies without me even asking and I truly felt like comfortable having her in the home with them! I will definitely be using Patience again and recommend others to use her services as well!!”

“Kyle took outstanding care of Archie and Rhea (and kept a watchful eye on our home) while we were on vacation. He asked thoughtful questions and sent regular updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned, both pets were happy, healthy, and clearly well-adjusted. Archie and Rhea absolutely adore Kyle—I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again for future trips.”

“Megan is absolutely amazing! This is the third time she’s stayed with our girls for multiple overnights, and I honestly can’t imagine using anyone else. She takes such incredible care of them, and it’s obvious they absolutely adore her. She communicates throughout the entire stay, sends the BEST updates and photos (seriously, they’re frame-worthy!), and gives us complete peace of mind while we’re away. Being able to truly relax on vacation because we know our girls are safe, loved, and spoiled is priceless. We came home to three happy, relaxed pups, and that says everything. We trust Megan completely and would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who will treat their pets like family. We can’t wait to book with her again!”

“We are so happy to have had Konnie care for our 2 dogs while we were away for 5 days. She sent wonderful pictures every day and we could tell that “the girls” were having a good time. Konnie also updated us daily about what the girls were up to. We would definitely recommend Konnie to anyone for excellent pet care. Thank so much, Konnie! Hope to hire you again in the future!”

“10/10 stars! I always get nervous leaving town and having people watch my pets; Olivia put my mind at ease and was so amazing! I did not stress at all while she watched them, i loved getting pictures of my dog and cats while I was away. I will absolutely be having her watch my fur babies again! My dog loved her from the second she walked in my door, and my cats did great with her as well. I am so pleased! Thank you so much Olivia!”

About: It seems as if I've always had a cat or dog or both since I was in grade school. At this time I have many kitties and one dog. Some of my kitties are foster kitties. Some I can pet and others I enjoy from a distance. I have 1 dog named Frannie. She is possibly a Rottweiler shepherd mix. In the past I grew up with a standard poodle. I have had a shepherd mix, another Rottweiler mix and a pit mix. I have seen all my dogs and cats thru to the rainbow bridge. I have fostered a litter of labrador puppies. That was fun! I currently help my mom with her pug mix named Chloe. I am currently working part time at a pre-school. I have Mondays, weekends, holidays and the summers off. I work until noon Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Fridays until 3pm I would need to make sure your pets are cared for before I go to work @7:15am. I have a neighbor who helps me let my dog out while I'm at work, so I would be free after work to check on your animal(s). I would then need to come back to my house and take care of my animals and then go back to check on yours. I could do that as often as needed and then longer thru the night. I anticipate every situation to be different so depending on the need. I would be able to keep kitties in my spare bedroom. I have a large screen door to put in front of the bedroom door to keep them separate from my animals if needed. I am flexible to what the needs may be

“Ava was SO AMAZING. She is super responsive and really knows how to take care of dogs. She stayed in our apt for one week and took care of our two dogs. They LOVED her and were having SO much fun playing and going on walks with her. She sent us daily updates, pictures, and videos which really helped with my anxiety as a first time user of rover. We will definitely use her again and you should too!”

“Kylie was fantastic with our girls. We are always apprehensive when having someone new in our home and taking care of our girls but Kylie was absolutely fantastic. We’ve already booked her for another weekend.”

About: I’m not sure that there’s one specific thing that would set me apart from other caregivers however, my best buddy Trouble crossed the rainbow bridge in February. Trouble was a 13 year old Weimaraner that my daughters & I rescued during Covid. Currently, Im not ready to be a dog mom just yet but I am ready to fill the empty space in my heart! I miss having a fur baby to walk with & playing in the yard. I have experience with large breeds , rescues, and seniors. I do work a full-time job Monday through Friday but I work a hybrid schedule & on the weekends I am an early riser so I could start as early as 5 AM. I am soon to be an empty nester and recently lost my fur baby. I am looking to keep busy with some new free time! In my clients home, I will care for their animals just as they do & keeping with their routine. If their dog needs belly rubs , quiet time, snuggling time & playing with & walking, I will do it all!

About: When I was born, a dog was there. My dog. Moses. I grew up with him until we were both 13 and he passed away in his sleep in my bedroom. I have had every pet since. More losses and grief, but I wouldn’t trade any memory away. Now, here I am. Ready to create more memories to accompany the old ones. All because of you, Moses. 👑 I work full-time, Monday through Friday between 8 am and 5 pm. But outside the of those hours… tell your furry friend to buckle up cause he’s/she’s gonna have trouble keeping up with all the fluffy awesomeness headed his/her way! (Unless he/she just wants to rest, of course.) We can go through any information prior to my visit, but rest assured that I am a problem solver. Trust me, I have kids. I’ll find a way through any storm and valley, and you’ll keep your peace and joy.

Emmalee watched our Great Dane and Chihuahua for a week while we were visiting family. We usually take our dogs everywhere but needed to fly this time. Our Chi does not warm up to people very easily, but there we were getting a picture of her sitting with Emmalee on the couch! She was familiar with handling a Great Dane and their quirky behavior, which made us feel comfortable as well. Emmalee is reliable, kept us updated, kept the dogs happy, and even cleaned up after them.(Sorry about that Emmalee. Thanks for cleaning up the dog bed 😬) We will definitely use her again if she'll have us!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Slagle walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Slagle maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Slagle choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
