About: I’m not sure that there’s one specific thing that would set me apart from other caregivers however, my best buddy Trouble crossed the rainbow bridge in February. Trouble was a 13 year old Weimaraner that my daughters & I rescued during Covid. Currently, Im not ready to be a dog mom just yet but I am ready to fill the empty space in my heart! I miss having a fur baby to walk with & playing in the yard. I have experience with large breeds , rescues, and seniors. I do work a full-time job Monday through Friday but I work a hybrid schedule & on the weekends I am an early riser so I could start as early as 5 AM. I am soon to be an empty nester and recently lost my fur baby. I am looking to keep busy with some new free time! In my clients home, I will care for their animals just as they do & keeping with their routine. If their dog needs belly rubs , quiet time, snuggling time & playing with & walking, I will do it all!
About: I grew up in a home full of animals, including three boxers, a pit bull, and cats all around! All of the animals i’ve owned have lived to senior ages, so I am aware of what may need done to love the older guys a little extra! I’m also aware of what puppy training or walking may look like. I’ve trained and raised three of my own dogs as well. I am currently working full time, but my hours may vary per day! I am available for dog walking/drop in visits early morning and afternoon/evening! Currently our day starts with a potty trip and around ten minutes of enrichment before going into kennels for work! Once I am home, we are at a park or on a walk daily! My girls eat once in the morning and once in the evening. Our evening then finishing with a final potty break and settling into bed!

About: When I was young, I used to have an Alaskan Malamute. My parents would allow me to walk and play with him. He was adopted 2 months before I was born and we were very bonded. After that, many neighbors and family members had pets that I interacted with. In 2017, I met my husband. At the time his parents had two dogs and two cats. I have walked both dogs, a Great Pyrenees mix and a dachshund, as well as played with the cats. Now they have one dog, a Bernese mountain dog mix, who we have dog sat on different occassions. In 2020, is when I adopted my first animal, my beautiful baby Sebastian. In 2024, I adopted my precious old lady who is a Bernese Mountain Dog named Strike. Both needed considerable training since they were both rescues. Sebastian had separation anxiety and needed special attention or treats in order to be comfortable. Strike had never seen a cat before and needed to be trained to ignore the cat. Both trainings were successful and they are friendly with each other now. They both love to play and go outside. Sebastian is harness trained. Strike unfortunately passed in Aug 2026. I also have volunteered with National Bernese Mountain Dog Rescue Network for two years and work in a dog kennel part-time. My husband WFH so someone is always home! I will provide the same compassion and care for your animals as if they were mine. I can provide training, playtime, walking, boarding, etc. I am willing to accommodate most requests. I have not given injection medication, but am willing to learn. I can provide plenty of treats or anything your pet may need. Can provide a separate space if not comfortable with other animals! Please feel free to ask any questions before booking! I currently work two jobs, but my husband is WFH. We are a team when it comes to taking care of animals! We make sure your animals get the care they need! I will follow all instructions provided and do what I can to make your pet happy. I will try to make them still feel at home even without their owner. If they do not get along with other animals, I have a separate space in my basement where I can board them (especially since my cat doesn't respond well to other animals at first). Will keep on leash at all times and accommodate any special requests to the best of my ability.

I’m currently working part time tropical smoothie! However, I can attend to your animal whenever they may need within my availability! About: With 10+ years of hands-on clinical veterinary experience, combined with a lifetime of growing up around, caring for, and working with animals, I bring over a decade of cumulative experience in veterinary medicine, pet care, and animal husbandry. My experience with animals began long before my professional veterinary career and includes dogs, cats, pigs, chickens, cows, horses, and many other animals. This lifelong connection has given me a deep understanding of animal behavior, care, handling, and well-being that extends far beyond the clinical setting. Throughout my veterinary career, I have consistently pursued continuing education through seminars, conferences, specialized training, and additional coursework to continually expand my knowledge and strengthen my clinical skill set. I have maintained **BLS and ALS CPR certification since 2020** and have been **Fear Free Certified since 2018**, along with holding numerous additional certifications, continuing education achievements, and awards earned throughout my career. The majority of my professional veterinary experience has been concentrated in **surgery, emergency medicine, and intensive care/ICU**, where attention to detail, critical thinking, and the ability to recognize subtle changes in a patient's condition are essential. These experiences have taught me to be highly observant and proactive, with a strong understanding of early warning signs and indicators that may suggest a patient is developing a problem. I take pride in being attentive to the small details that can make a significant difference in an animal's outcome. Pets are my passion, and pet people are my people. I genuinely enjoy building relationships with both animals and their families and believe exceptional veterinary care should be built on compassion, communication, trust, and a little fun along the way. Whether I am caring for a critically ill patient, assisting with surgery, supporting a fearful/nervous pet, or simply making an animal's day a little better, I bring the same level of dedication and enthusiasm to every patient. I believe every pet deserves to feel safe, valued, and well cared for—and every pet parent deserves to know that their beloved companion is in capable, compassionate hands. Your furry family members will receive the highest level of care, attention, and compassion I can provide—and we'll have some fun along the way. I am comfortable and experienced in caring for patients across a wide range of ages, conditions, and levels of acuity. My clinical experience includes the safe administration and management of oral, injectable, and topical medications, as well as monitoring patients receiving ongoing or complex treatment plans. I am comfortable working with advanced and late-stage disease, chronic and complex medical conditions, hospice and end-of-life care, geriatric patients, pediatrics, neonates, and emergency cases. My background in surgery, emergency medicine, and ICU/critical care has strengthened my ability to remain calm and attentive in high-pressure situations while recognizing subtle changes in a patient's condition and responding appropriately. I understand that each patient requires an individualized approach, and I am committed to providing compassionate, thorough, and attentive care whether a patient is recovering from surgery, managing a chronic illness, beginning life as a neonate, facing an emergency, or approaching the end of life. I am equally comfortable providing hands-on nursing care, assisting with treatment plans, communicating observations to the veterinary team, educating and supporting pet parents, and advocating for the patient's comfort and overall quality of life. Pet care has been a huge part of my daily and weekly routine for more than 10 years. Whether I’m working in veterinary medicine or caring for pets in someone’s home, I’m accustomed to making animal care a priority and building it naturally into my everyday routine. I genuinely enjoy getting to know each pet’s personality, habits, routines, and individual needs. For me, providing consistent, attentive care isn’t simply a job—it’s something I’ve built my life around and truly love doing. I approach every pet as an individual and tailor my care to their specific personality, routine, medical needs, and comfort level. Whether I am caring for a pet in my own home or in a client's home, my priority is always to provide a **safe, calm, consistent, and loving environment** that feels as close to their normal routine as possible. I am comfortable caring for pets with a wide range of needs, including puppies and kittens, seniors, anxious or fearful pets, medically complex patients, and animals requiring medications or additional monitoring. I can administer **oral, injectable, and topical medications**, follow detailed feeding and treatment instructions, monitor changes in behavior or condition, and recognize when something may warrant veterinary attention. My background in emergency, critical care, ICU, and surgery has made me particularly attentive to subtle changes that may indicate a problem. When caring for pets in a client's home, I respect that I am also caring for someone's home and follow their instructions closely. I maintain established feeding, medication, exercise, potty, sleep, and enrichment routines whenever possible. I provide regular updates and photos so owners know how their pets are doing and can feel connected while they are away. When caring for pets in my own home, I focus on creating a secure and comfortable environment while considering each animal's temperament, energy level, social preferences, and individual needs. I believe pets shouldn't simply be "watched" while their owners are away—they should receive attention, companionship, enrichment, affection, and quality care. Ultimately, my goal is simple: I want your pets to feel safe, loved, and comfortable, and I want you to have complete peace of mind knowing they are in capable and compassionate hands.
“Avarie is the kind of person anyone would want to care for their fur babies while housesitting them in their home. She was professional, conscientious, caring, courteous, and empathetic. I will definitely seek out her service in the future. I would recommend her services to anyone who loves their pets and wants a trustworthy dog-friendly person to care for them while you're traveling. A+”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Whipple Heights
This was our first overnight booking with Kristen and we couldn't be happier. She sent updates and pics of our boys every day. She was always on time and spent a lot of quality time with them. Everything was as we left it when we returned. We will definitely have her back in the future.

This was our first time with Lillie as a sitter and we couldn’t have had a better experience. She is incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and considerate. Our house was even spotless upon our return, which was so nice to come home to. I felt confident leaving my boys with her and would highly suggest to anyone who might need an extended house sitting - as it’s a hard ask - but she delivered. Thanks, Lillie!

Emmalee watched our Great Dane and Chihuahua for a week while we were visiting family. We usually take our dogs everywhere but needed to fly this time. Our Chi does not warm up to people very easily, but there we were getting a picture of her sitting with Emmalee on the couch! She was familiar with handling a Great Dane and their quirky behavior, which made us feel comfortable as well. Emmalee is reliable, kept us updated, kept the dogs happy, and even cleaned up after them.(Sorry about that Emmalee. Thanks for cleaning up the dog bed 😬) We will definitely use her again if she'll have us!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Whipple Heights walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Whipple Heights maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Whipple Heights choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
