“Ms. Konnie was awesome. She loved my babies as if they were her own. She followed my schedule for the babies. I received the cutest updates with pictures and videos daily. My babies were given all the cuddles in the world. On a side note, Ms. Konnie stayed on my house for a full week and left it in the same condition as when I left. I am very fortunate for her and absolutely plan on using her in the future.”

“Look no further than Patience for a dependable and kind companion to your furry family while you’re away. This was my first time booking on Rover and I was extremely nervous about it. I work from home and my 3 dogs don’t spend very much time without a human around and so when she mentioned she would allow the dogs to sleep with her that peaked my interest as it is comforting to know they’ll get extra cuddles while I’m away from someone who “gets it” ( they're our babies!) Patience put me at ease with her prompt communication and kept us updated on how my 3 dogs were the entire week I was away. I will definitely rebook her for my next trip!”

“Sarah is the most thoughtful and considerate dog sitter we have ever had. She is interested in knowing all of your pets’ unique needs, behaviors, and routines. We have referred her to other friends who equally prioritize dog + house sitting services and look to trust someone with experience. Our senior dogs have separation anxiety when we travel for work. Sarah gives us peace of mind knowing that they are given the genuine love, individualized attention, and comfort they are used to with us at home. No matter if it is a smaller trip, or a longer time away, Sarah is prepared, patient, communicative, and generous with our pups. We return home to a clean house every time. We could not recommend her more.”

“Sauddi took excellent care of our dogs and our home! She provided ample updates and even left a few toys for the dogs to enjoy after her stay with them. We would absolutely recommend her to others and will not hesitate to rebook with her in the future!”

“Megan was absolutely wonderful. She stayed with our three dogs for a long weekend and we felt completely at ease the entire time. She sent consistent updates and photos, took them on walks, picked up after them, and left our home spotless — you truly wouldn’t even know she was here. Our dogs were happy and relaxed when we returned, which says everything. She is reliable, communicative, and genuinely cares about the animals she watches. We’re so grateful to have found her and already have her booked again. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve been around animals my whole life and grew up with both dogs and cats. I also have my own rabbit, Snoopy, so I understand how important it is to have someone trustworthy caring for your pet. I have experience pet sitting for friends and family and am especially comfortable with large breeds including pit bulls, Dobermans, German Shepherds, and huskies. I’m comfortable administering medication when needed and staying calm in emergency situations. I’m very attentive to pets and good at noticing when something seems off, and I’m comfortable communicating concerns quickly and getting veterinary care if needed. I will care for your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and comfortable while you’re away. I work full-time as an Operations Manager, but pet care fits easily into my routine! I’m available before and after work for walks, feeding, playtime, medications, and lots of attention. I am also available overnights! I make pet care a priority and will always communicate my schedule clearly so your pet gets reliable, loving care. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I will follow your pet’s normal routine as closely as possible, including feeding schedules, walks, medications, and any special instructions. I’m very attentive and good at noticing when something seems off, and I will always communicate updates or concerns quickly. I’m comfortable administering medication when needed and staying calm in emergency situations if they arise. I will treat your home and pets with the same care, love, and respect I would want for my own. I also know how hard it can be being away from your pet (I’m definitely that pet parent too with my rabbit, Snoopy 😂), so I’m always happy to send plenty of photo and video updates for extra peace of mind!
“We have three rescued dogs each with their little quirks and they can be a lot of work but a lot of fun. They love Lori. How great is that? All we want is the dogs to be safe and have a good time with their house sitter and with Lori we/they get both. Highly recommend her. She is wonderful and the dogs miss her when she leaves.”

“Natalie did an amazing job with my girl Tika! She was available on short notice and even brought in several packages I was unaware of. She was very communicative plus sent lots of pictures. Natalie even gave me info about the area during the meet and greet since I had just move to the area a few days prior. Would highly recommend!”

“Kristen is one of the easiest people to work with! Posted stay last minute and Kristen was able to deliver great care on such short notice. It is truly a blessing being able to get away knowing my pups were loved just like I love them.”

“Zoey was wonderful, both my cats warmed right up to her even my shy boy! She was super communicative and did a great job with my cats I will definitely rebook with her and would absolutely recommend her as a sitter!”

About: I’ve owned dogs my entire life and have hands-on experience caring for a wide range of personalities, energy levels, and needs. I’ve self-trained my own dogs and I’m comfortable reinforcing basic obedience commands like sit, stay, leave it, and leash manners (especially helpful for puppies and energetic dogs). I also have experience caring for a dog with seizures who requires medication, so I’m confident with administering meds and supporting pets with special routines or extra care needs. In addition to my own pets, I’ve regularly helped neighbors and friends with pet sitting and daily care. I’m attentive, calm, and safety-focused, and I treat every pet like they’re my own. I also groom and bathe my own dogs, and while full grooming isn’t typically part of my services, I’m absolutely willing to help if an urgent situation arises. I’m self-employed and work from home, so I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate a wide range of needs. I’m able to provide frequent potty breaks and check-ins, including hourly relief when needed, and I can do multiple drop-ins throughout the day. Because I’m home often, I’m also able to give pets consistent attention, supervision, and routine support. Care looks a little different depending on whether I’m in your home or mine, but my top priorities are always safety, routine, and clear communication. I expect to communicate frequently during your pet's visit with me. In my home: For daycare or boarding, I require that dogs are crate trained, since dogs will be crated overnight and anytime I’m not home. I also require up-to-date vaccine records to keep everyone safe. I have two dogs of my own, so I carefully monitor introductions and compatibility. We do have a yard, but it is not fenced, so all outdoor time is supervised and on-leash. In your home: During our meet & greet, we’ll go over your pet’s routine in detail (feeding, potty breaks, walks, medication, etc.). I ask that any important care instructions are also listed in your pet’s Rover profile in writing, so everything is clear and consistent. I’m happy to follow your household routines as close as possible during the visit.
About: Hello! I am a huge animal lover and have been around cats and dogs all of my life, including with the addition of my own furry-son who I adopted while in college. I’m comfortable around all sizes, ages, or any combination of the two. My schedule is extremely flexible as I continue my education, so I can accommodate early mornings, late nights, and anything in between! Thank you for checking out my profile and I hope to meet your furry family member soon! I’m currently a student pilot who sets my own schedule, so I am super flexible to be available any time of the day/week to take care of your pet! Living in my parents home means there are multiple animal-loving people to keep your pet company alongside a couple of other friendly cats! That said, I can easily keep animals separated if that is preferred. In your home, I will take deliberate care to be a calm, cheerful visitor for your pet and to leave your home as perfect as I found it!
About: My name is Holly. I am an animal lover! I grew up on a farm, so I am familiar with care of many types of animals. I have never not had a dog in my life. I have a flexible schedue, own my own home, work remotely full-time , and am very dependable. When house sitting, i do prefer stays less than 4 days, but willing to consider longer stays. I'm looking forward to meeting and caring for your furry loved ones! Why I love dog sitting I have had at least 1 dog my whole life. I've had breeds ranging from Chihuahuas, to Boxers, to Bull Terriers. Dogs are a blessing and I love having them in my life. I will administer pills and liquid drops, but not shots. I work remotely, so I am fully available to your pet. No children or anyone else in the house, so if your dog or cat needs a relaxing stay, I can provide that.
“Randy was awesome with Mabel! He walked her endlessly so much so, when we came back, Mabel was so chill! Also, our flights were delayed twice and Randy spent extra time making sure Mabel wouldn’t be left alone having to potty for a long time. His care was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I also want to commend Randy for how he took care of the house. I have had sitters (not from Rover) who left the house in a shambles: unmade bed, stuff on the kitchen counters, etc, so that when you got home you had to tidy up before you could unpack. Randy had the house like when we left, or better. He was polite, kind, attentive to Mabel and just all around terrific. He is now my ‘go to’ guy! Thanks tons Randy!”

“She was absolutely fantastic. We were out of town for longer than we've been before, but we felt completely comfortable and knew our pets were happy and healthy.”

About: I grew up in a home full of animals, including three boxers, a pit bull, and cats all around! All of the animals i’ve owned have lived to senior ages, so I am aware of what may need done to love the older guys a little extra! I’m also aware of what puppy training or walking may look like. I’ve trained and raised three of my own dogs as well. I am currently working full time, but my hours may vary per day! I am available for dog walking/drop in visits early morning and afternoon/evening! Currently our day starts with a potty trip and around ten minutes of enrichment before going into kennels for work! Once I am home, we are at a park or on a walk daily! My girls eat once in the morning and once in the evening. Our evening then finishing with a final potty break and settling into bed!

About: I’m not sure that there’s one specific thing that would set me apart from other caregivers however, my best buddy Trouble crossed the rainbow bridge in February. Trouble was a 13 year old Weimaraner that my daughters & I rescued during Covid. Currently, Im not ready to be a dog mom just yet but I am ready to fill the empty space in my heart! I miss having a fur baby to walk with & playing in the yard. I have experience with large breeds , rescues, and seniors. I do work a full-time job Monday through Friday but I work a hybrid schedule & on the weekends I am an early riser so I could start as early as 5 AM. I am soon to be an empty nester and recently lost my fur baby. I am looking to keep busy with some new free time! In my clients home, I will care for their animals just as they do & keeping with their routine. If their dog needs belly rubs , quiet time, snuggling time & playing with & walking, I will do it all!

About: Hi! My name is Dayne, and I’m a 22 year old college football player with a lifelong love for animals. I’ve grown up around pets my entire life, and spending time with them has always been something I genuinely enjoy. Right now I have a German Shepherd and a Beagle, so I’m comfortable with dogs of all sizes and personalities. I actually trained my German Shepherd myself from the time he was a puppy, and seeing him grow into such a well behaved, obedient dog has been incredibly rewarding. That experience taught me a lot about patience, consistency, and understanding how every dog learns a little differently. Being a college athlete has also taught me the importance of being dependable, responsible, and sticking to a routine. Those are qualities I bring with me whenever I’m taking care of someone else’s pet. Whether it’s walks, playtime, feeding, potty breaks, or just keeping your dog company while you’re away, I’ll make sure they’re getting the attention and care they deserve. I also have experience with more than just dogs. I grew up with an Umbrella Cockatoo that’s still part of my family’s life today, so I’m familiar with caring for birds. I also own a Bearded Dragon, which has given me experience caring for reptiles as well. I know leaving your pet with someone else can be stressful because they’re family. I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own, make sure they feel safe and comfortable, and always follow your care instructions. My goal is to give you peace of mind while you’re away, knowing your pet is in good hands. I’m a college football player, so all of my athletic commitments are done in the mornings. I also take all of my classes online, which gives me the rest of the day to fully focus on the dogs in my care. My schedule is very structured, and I’m home the majority of the day outside of morning workouts. My own dogs are properly exercised every single day. We go to the dog park, on long walks, and even hikes when the weather is nice. I make sure they are well run and mentally stimulated so they’re balanced and happy. They are fed twice a day with high quality dog food, and I stay consistent with their health needs. My German Shepherd gets joint supplements, and both my Shepherd and Beagle get salmon oil daily. I take their care seriously, and I would treat your dog the exact same way. Being an athlete, I’m already used to routine, discipline, and responsibility. That carries over into how I care for animals. Your dog won’t just be “watched” they’ll be exercised, cared for, and paid attention to. I live in a 1600 square foot home with plenty of space for dogs to move around comfortably. I have a large dog crate available if your dog is crate trained or needs their own quiet space. I also have two friendly, well socialized dogs who love to play and will keep your dog company. Safety is always my top priority. I’m experienced with large breeds and strong dogs, and I understand proper leash control, structure, and supervision. I keep a clean, organized home and always make sure dogs are monitored, comfortable, and secure. I know how much trust it takes to leave your dog with someone, and I don’t take that lightly.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Green
Liz was fantastic - this was my first time using the Rover app and I wasn't completely comfortable with the thought of a person with my 2 dogs and in my home, but Liz made me feel more comfortable right away. She came for a get-to-know visit and asked all the right questions. She stayed and chatted and told me more about herself. While I was gone, she sent photos, asked questions when she needed to, and gave timely updates on how the dogs were. She took special precautions with my old man, Gus. Not only did she provided exactly the level of care I hoped, but I could tell she genuinely loves animals, which meant she cared about my dogs and wanted their time without me to be as stress free and calm as it could be. I would ask Liz to take care of my dogs (2 German Wirehair Pointers, 60 pounds each) again in the future and know that they were in great hands - which allows me to enjoy my vacation more because I know things at home are completely taken care of and someone who loves my dogs is there to keep them safe and give them love while I'm gone. Overall - a great experience. :-)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Green walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Green maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Green choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Green. On Rover:
- 96% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
