“Look no further than Patience for a dependable and kind companion to your furry family while you’re away. This was my first time booking on Rover and I was extremely nervous about it. I work from home and my 3 dogs don’t spend very much time without a human around and so when she mentioned she would allow the dogs to sleep with her that peaked my interest as it is comforting to know they’ll get extra cuddles while I’m away from someone who “gets it” ( they're our babies!) Patience put me at ease with her prompt communication and kept us updated on how my 3 dogs were the entire week I was away. I will definitely rebook her for my next trip!”

“We absolutely adore Konnie! She is very communicative and sends updates that let us know our fur babies are happy and safe! She is a great house guest as well, leaving everything better than we left it! :) we highly recommend her!”

“Sauddi was absolutely amazing! It took no time at all for my 2 dogs to warm up to her. She is loving, kind and knows how to provide an exciting time for the dogs. She provided pictures and updates daily. She took excellent care of the house. We will certainly use her again. Highly recommend Sauddi.”

“Sarah is a great dog sitter. She is great at communicating and sends fun videos of what your pet is up to. She helps keep the house in order and is very tidy. We really appreciate her help!”

“10/10 recommend!! Marisa stayed with our dog while we were on vacation and she stayed in contact every day! We came home to our house exactly as we left it. I will definitely use her again in the future!”

About: I understand that trusting someone with your pet is a big decision, and I treat every animal with the same love, patience, and respect I give my own. As a longtime dog owner, I have experience caring for both a French Bulldog and a Pug, and I know how important routine, consistency, and positive interactions are for a pet’s well-being. In my full-time career, I work in a hospital where attention to detail, reliability, communication, and compassion are essential every day. Those same qualities are what I bring to every pet I care for. Whether your dog needs a walk, playtime, fresh water, feeding, potty breaks, or simply companionship while you’re away, I’ll follow your instructions carefully and make sure your pet feels safe and cared for. I provide photo and text updates after each visit so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is happy and doing well. My goal is to build lasting relationships with both pets and their families by providing dependable, personalized care you can trust. I look forward to meeting you and your furry family member! I provide pet care on my days off and during available evenings, allowing me to give each pet my full attention, personalized care, and dependable service. Safety and trust are my top priorities. I carefully follow each pet’s routine and your instructions, use secure leash handling, and make sure gates and doors are safely secured. I’ll provide photo updates after every visit and treat both your pet and your home with the same care and respect I would my own.
“She was wonderful. As an experienced pet lover, she immediately bonded with my doggie, Cleo. It was great as she kept me updated with photos and even videos. Cleo was engaged and had a fun time with Kristen. I would highly recommend Kristin.”

About: I've had dogs all my life and I currently have one cat and 11 guinea pigs. I take care of my moms dogs all the time. I'm free all day. I'm an independent contractor so I have all the free time every day all day. I can come by anytime of the day. I will take the utmost care of your pet and will do everything I can to make them feel safe. I love being around animals.
“Lori was fantastic! We felt good leaving our 3 large dogs with her for a weekend in our home. She kept us updated and informed on their eating, potty, and medication schedule. We also came home to a clean house and the sheets where she slept were already washed. We absolutely recommend Lori!!”

“Kyle took outstanding care of Archie and Rhea (and kept a watchful eye on our home) while we were on vacation. He asked thoughtful questions and sent regular updates and photos, which gave us great peace of mind. When we returned, both pets were happy, healthy, and clearly well-adjusted. Archie and Rhea absolutely adore Kyle—I wouldn’t hesitate to book him again for future trips.”

“Olivia was wonderful! Shes so kind. She took such great care of Sir Fredrick, as well as my home. Went above and beyond, Playing with him in the backyard, took him for a walk, gave him the attention he desires. I received so many adorable photos of him while I was away, as well as updates. 10/10. Already using her for my next trip out of town”

About: I grew up in a home full of animals, including three boxers, a pit bull, and cats all around! All of the animals i’ve owned have lived to senior ages, so I am aware of what may need done to love the older guys a little extra! I’m also aware of what puppy training or walking may look like. I’ve trained and raised three of my own dogs as well. I am currently working full time, but my hours may vary per day! I am available for dog walking/drop in visits early morning and afternoon/evening! Currently our day starts with a potty trip and around ten minutes of enrichment before going into kennels for work! About: My name is Holly. I am an animal lover! I grew up on a farm, so I am familiar with care of many types of animals. I have never not had a dog in my life. I have a flexible schedue, own my own home, work remotely full-time , and am very dependable. When house sitting, i do prefer stays less than 4 days, but willing to consider longer stays. I'm looking forward to meeting and caring for your furry loved ones! Why I love dog sitting I have had at least 1 dog my whole life. I've had breeds ranging from Chihuahuas, to Boxers, to Bull Terriers. Dogs are a blessing and I love having them in my life. I will administer pills and liquid drops, but not shots. I work remotely, so I am fully available to your pet. No children or anyone else in the house, so if your dog or cat needs a relaxing stay, I can provide that.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Green
Liz was fantastic - this was my first time using the Rover app and I wasn't completely comfortable with the thought of a person with my 2 dogs and in my home, but Liz made me feel more comfortable right away. She came for a get-to-know visit and asked all the right questions. She stayed and chatted and told me more about herself. While I was gone, she sent photos, asked questions when she needed to, and gave timely updates on how the dogs were. She took special precautions with my old man, Gus. Not only did she provided exactly the level of care I hoped, but I could tell she genuinely loves animals, which meant she cared about my dogs and wanted their time without me to be as stress free and calm as it could be. I would ask Liz to take care of my dogs (2 German Wirehair Pointers, 60 pounds each) again in the future and know that they were in great hands - which allows me to enjoy my vacation more because I know things at home are completely taken care of and someone who loves my dogs is there to keep them safe and give them love while I'm gone. Overall - a great experience. :-)

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Green walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Green maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Green choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
