Meagan did an amazing job with our dogs, cats, and guniea pig. All of them were happy while we were gone and were all very comfortable with her. The day we came home she cleaned up the house so when we got here it wasn’t something we had to worry about. We will definitely use Meagan again when we need a sitter she is great!!

Jillian was the BEST! She did a fantastic job with our dog and made us feel completely comfortable. Our dog went to her immediately upon meeting and was excited to be with her. She’s trustworthy and has great communication skills. She kept us updated through the whole process. We will definitely be using her in the future. If you are looking for someone who’s competent and has integrity, she’s your gal.

Mark was wonderful with Oliver and Nutmeg - so much love and care was given! The regular updates helped us feel so much more at ease, especially since it was Nutmeg's first time with a sitter. I will definitely be asking Mark to watch them again in the future. Would give more than 5 stars if it was an option. He's the best!

I was so impressed with Tawny. I have never left my dogs with a dog care center before. All three with different personalities and he took care of everyone of their needs. I loved that he took him on a field trip that they really enjoyed. I would highly recommend Toni to take care of your dog. Thank you Tawny for making my dogs feel special.

This was our first time using Jessica, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met her, we felt comfortable and knew our dogs were in good hands. She was incredibly communicative throughout our trip and never made me feel like I was being a worry wart. She understood that leaving your pets with someone new can be stressful and was always kind, responsive, and reassuring. Jessica took excellent care of our dogs, especially our French Bulldog, who requires extra attention in the Utah heat. She clearly took her responsibilities seriously, made sure they had plenty of potty and outdoor breaks, cleaned up after them, and paid close attention to their needs. She also took great care of our home, brought in our packages, and left everything just as we had hoped. We truly lucked out finding Jessica. We would absolutely book with her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy Rover sitter.

About: I have always been the go-to friend, when it comes to taking care of their pets while they are away. Over the years I have had experienced all sorts of dogs and cats, and have given them all the care and love as I do my own pets. ❤️ I’m a full time hairstylist who’s just wanting some animal interaction away from the salon. I have Mondays available from 11-3 to snuggle, walk and play with your fur babies. If I am making a home visit, I will spend 40-60 minutes with your beloved pet. Making sure water is topped off, and feed if need, while giving your pet undivided attention in your absence. If I am dog walking, my dog and I will stop in and take your dog for a fun jaunt and play in the park. (40-60 min). (If my dog doesn’t get along with your dog, we can make it just me.)

Chilali took great care of our 2 dogs, our cat, and our house over 2.5 weeks while we were gone internationally. All of our animals loved her and gave her plenty of snuggles. She was prompt with communications, updates, and pictures. She followed our instructions and asked questions for clarifications.

I feel so lucky I found Alexus to dogsit for us while away visiting family. I have two lab mixes that she quickly bonded with, even my timid dog who is very weary of strangers. They were snuggling and playing together within a day or two, I was (happily) shocked! One of our dogs got sick right before we had to leave on our trip, and Alexus took such good care of her and was always willing to go the extra mile for us when our dog needed to go to the vet while we were out of town. She was communicative and sent us daily photos and videos which I loved. She's the best!

About: I’ve been a huge animal person my whole life. I’ve always loved helping and taking care of pets and even sometimes wild animals. My family always comes to me when they need help or have questions about their pets. I took a vet assisting class and know a little about wounds and health in pets. I am home most of the time, so I will be able to spend plenty of time with your pets. I am available mainly on week days and sometimes weekends. I have 1 dog who is small that likes to be with my sister most of the time. I also have 3 cats who have their own room. I have a large backyard that is fenced. My back door has a dog door that can lock.

Zoe was amazing! Our German Shepherd is typically an anxious dog around new people but Zoe made him feel comfortable almost immediately. We felt very secure knowing that he was being well taken care of. Plus we got lots of pics and updates throughout our time away. We will definitely be having Zoe over again to watch Obi!

About: What sets me apart is my patience and understanding of different pet personalities. I have a Frenchie of my own who definitely keeps me on my toes, so I truly understand that every dog has their quirks. I’ve learned how to stay calm, consistent, and loving even on the challenging days. Because of that, I’m especially attentive, patient, and committed to making sure every pet feels safe, understood, and cared for. Pet care is already a consistent and meaningful part of my daily routine. I care for my own Frenchie every day, so feeding schedules, walks, playtime, training, and patience are second nature to me. I’m used to structuring my day around a dog’s needs, making sure they get attention, exercise, and consistency. Because of this, adding another pet into my routine feels natural, I’m already organized, dependable, and committed to giving animals the time and care they deserve. When caring for pets in my home or a client’s home, I focus on maintaining their normal routine so they feel safe and comfortable. I follow feeding schedules closely, provide plenty of fresh water, and make sure they get appropriate exercise, playtime, and rest. I’m attentive to their body language and energy levels so I can adjust care to their needs. For dog walking, I prioritize safety by using secure leashes and harnesses, choosing safe walking routes, and keeping a steady pace that fits the dog’s age and energy level. I always make sure pets return home calm, happy, and well cared for.

Nathalia is the best! This is my first experience on Rover and she did not disappoint! She kept my 2 month old puppy entertained which can be tough so i’m so grateful for that! She made sure to update me on how my puppy was doing and did everything I asked perfectly. So nice and would definetly have her house sit again!

About: I differentiate myself because I don't just walk dogs, I really focus on their well-being. I have patience with puppies and I can reinforce basic commands such as sitting, staying and walking without pulling the leash. I also have special care with older dogs, adapting the pace of the walk and being attentive to any need. I always send photos and updates so that the owner is calm I’m available on weekdays after 3 PM and fully available all day on weekends. I enjoy staying active, so I make time to give each pet the exercise, attention, and care they need. I provide a safe, clean, and comfortable environment both in my home and in my client’s home. I follow each pet’s routine closely, including feeding schedules, walks, and any specific instructions. I make sure pets get enough exercise, attention, and affection. I also monitor their behavior to ensure they are happy and stress-free, and I always keep owners updated with photos and messages.

FAQs for House Sitting - Lake Point

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 2,300 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Lake Point. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Lake Point walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Lake Point maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Lake Point choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Lake Point. On Rover:

  • 94% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 97% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
