Exceptional, Professional Pet Care! My experience with Mark watching my dog was exceptional. From the start, any reservations I had about having someone new in the house melted away. Mark comes highly recommended for a reason—his professionalism, thoroughness, and genuine care are unmatched. He arrived prepared with a comprehensive intake document covering everything from feeding schedules and vet info to unique personality traits and emergency supplies. Communication was phenomenal; I received 37 pictures and consistent updates every few hours, allowing me to relax while away! Mark goes above and beyond as a guest in your home, bringing his own food, drinks, and blankets, and he even stayed through a power outage during 100-degree heat while promptly notifying me and reporting the issue to the power company. If you want peace of mind knowing your pet and home are in the absolute best hands, look no further!

This is the second time we have used Jessica and we are always very assured. She is super communicative and very accommodating. She understands what it’s like to leave pets in the care of others and for us, she has experience with Frenchies which have to be cared for in a certain way. We didn’t leave our frenchies tjis trip but we would have no issue doing so. She’s amazing!

Payton did an amazing job taking care of our dogs. We were kept updated the whole time with messages and photos, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. It was clear there was genuine care and extra effort put into everything, even taking the dogs on hikes. I would absolutely love to book with Payton again and can’t recommend enough.

Elva was a great house/pet sitter for us! This is the first time we have ever needed one for our 12 year old dog and we couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I appreciated that she was willing to come before we left to meet us and learn our dog's current routines. I came back home to the house still being clean and a happy dog. I will definitely reach out to Elva again for any upcoming trips!

Xion was amazing! They went above and beyond in home sitting our dog over our Thanksgiving vacation. From near-daily text and photo updates, to even shoveling snow from our driveway and sidewalk, they really took care of everything and more. So grateful and would absolutely book again!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about Kimberly. We booked the week prior for an overnight so we could take a quick trip to CO for a concert. Kimberly was friendly & communicative the week leading up to the booking and checked in the evening before. She arrived at 6:30 am with such a warm energy and immediately won the pups over. Grimm seemed instantly attached to her! It was very sweet. I was a bit worried since it was our first time using Rover, & the first time leaving the boys with someone other than their grandparents. We felt comfortable with Kimberly right off the bat and we knew our boys were in good hands. I loved that she sent lots of photos & videos while we were away & let us know how well they were doing. She followed all care instructions perfectly. She even left us beautiful flowers she cut from her garden. I would 100% trust Kimberly to care for my furbabies again in the future. I feel blessed to have found and connected with such a good human. Thank you Kimberly! 💛🐾

About: I grew up LOVING dogs and cats and honestly all sorts of animals . I dont have any official training in veterinary practices, but I do feel I do know quite a bit of taking care of animals and making them feel safe and loved . I have two beagles I helped my father raise after we got them from a rescue and they are the best part of my life. I love animals I hope you consider me to animals sit so I can just spend time loving on animals. 😁👍 (I list my experience mainly caring for my beagles but I promise ive been caring for dogs for more than three years) I honestly love spending as much of my day taking care of dogs as I physically can, weather thats bringing them with me places, playing in the yard, or just giving pets. I always try to be with the animal (because as much is i love em sometimes they can get into trouble if not watched) I always make sure I know if foods are safe for animals first off no matter what if I dont know. Even if its treats honestly I still like to read for a second or two. Always make sure areas are safe too, make sure things are picked up so nothing can be grabbed by a doggo, and also if im letting them out to go potty I always keep track of where they are especially at night because things happen to fences all the time and dogs are smart.

About: I provide calm, attentive, and reliable pet care tailored to each animal’s needs. I had my own dog for 13 years, who passed away last year, giving me deep understanding of lifelong care and companionship. I’ve also been a dog foster and worked with multiple rescue groups, caring for dogs with a wide range of temperaments, including shy, anxious, and high-energy personalities. In addition, I have extensive pet sitting experience with all kinds of animals. I’m comfortable with daily routines, walks, playtime, and basic medications, and I bring patience, presence, and genuine care to every pet I look after. Pet care fits naturally into my routine because I have a flexible work schedule that allows me to prioritize visits, walks, and check-ins throughout the day. I’m able to adjust my availability as needed, which helps me be reliable for both last-minute and recurring bookings. I structure my week around my commitments so I can give each pet consistent, attentive care without feeling rushed. This flexibility allows me to provide dependable support and maintain a calm, present energy with every animal I care for. I prioritize safety, trust, and a calm environment in every pet care situation. In a client’s home, I respect their space and follow all instructions closely to keep the pet’s routine consistent and stress-free. I make sure doors, gates, and leashes are secure at all times and never take risks during walks or outdoor time. I keep a close eye on behavior, appetite, and energy levels so I can quickly notice if something feels off. I also maintain cleanliness in feeding areas and litter boxes, and ensure pets always have fresh water and a comfortable environment. My goal is to create a safe, grounded presence so pets feel secure, cared for, and at ease while their owners are away.

This is the second time that Heather has watched Leo. She is fantastic. When I come home I notice little things that she did but was not asked of her. For example, she cleaned and filled up Leo’s water bowl that was outside. She folded up the hose that was a mess outside. Cleaned the floors. Little things like this are appreciated but not expected.

FAQs for House Sitting - Burmester

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of August 2026, there are 1,840 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Burmester. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Burmester walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Burmester maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Burmester choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Burmester. On Rover:

  • 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 98% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
