“Marie has dropped in for my large breed dog, picked him up for dog park visits and watched him for me during vacation. I love that she has experience with large dogs, administering medications and is really hands on and passionate about dogs. My pup is not low maintenance in terms of needing monitoring for counter serving and getting into food, doesn’t like being left alone etc. and she handles it great. She always sends lots of photos and updates which helps make me feel at ease. Would recommend Marie for your dog care and needs 100%!”

About: I’m the girl who can walk into a home for the first time and have your pets cuddled up next to me within minutes - and I absolutely love it! With over a decade of professional experience caring for dogs and cats, I’ve been trusted by families, neighbors, and friends to walk, feed, bathe, snuggle, and play with their furry loved ones. I bring lots of energy and affection to every visit, always making sure pets feel safe, loved, and happy. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I naturally keep doors closed and locked, double-check collars and leashes before walks, and stay alert to my surroundings at all times. You’ll receive regular photo and video updates, and if anything ever seems off, I’ll reach out right away, prioritizing open communication. Click the link below to schedule within my availability - I’d love to meet your fur family! I work a varied schedule throughout the week anywhere from 4 hours to 8 hours (on the rare occasion). I provide extensive walk time / play time to pets I look after, and even more exercise time on the longer-shift days that I have to work. If there are requests for me to speak with my employer about leaving early for your pet, I am happy to discuss this! I always prioritize the safety of your animals by instinctually keeping the necessary doors closed/locked, checking colar/leash security before beginning walks, keeping your pet within my sight at all times, staying aware of surroundings and in control of your pet responsibly. You can count on regular photos and videos of your fur-child, and if anything seems even slightly off, I’m committed to open communication and proactively seeking solutions with your consent.

About: I’ve cared for animals throughout my life, volunteering at animal shelters and caring for friends' and relatives' pets. This has given me extensive experience caring for all kinds of animals in various life stages. I have two dogs—Wyatt, an American bully, and Lucy, a Chihuahua. I also have two cats! My experience also includes reptiles, rabbits, and birds. I adore animals and would love to help with any of your pet's needs. :) My schedule is flexible! As a full-time college student taking online classes, I can easily adjust my plans when needed while still caring for my pets. I believe our pets sense the energy around them, so establishing a calm and safe environment, and meeting them at their level, is essential. For our dogs, we have a spacious fenced yard, and I usually let them outside every two hours. We also take daily walks around the neighborhood. When it comes to feeding, I avoid playing to keep mealtime serious. For my own pets, I prepare home-cooked meals twice a day to ensure a balanced diet. I believe they deserve a fulfilling life, which includes nutritious food!

About: Growing up on a farm surrounded by large dogs and with parents who volunteered at Hogle Zoo, I developed a deep-seated belief that animals and wildlife are an extension of our family, deserving of our protection and care. I fostered a profound respect for all our animal friends. My hands-on experience further expanded through working with horses in equine therapy and helping my partner in her grooming salon, where I've become proficient in bathing and drying both dogs and cats. This role has sharpened my ability to recognize and respond to the subtle sensitivities of these animals, enhancing an intuitive connection with them that doesn’t stop giving. As a dedicated pet parent to my own dogs and cats, I consistently apply a compassionate and knowledgeable approach to animal welfare. I’m a Private Chef by trade and have a lot of open availability. I travel for work and can travel to you, too! A lot of my work entails paperwork I do from home, making frequent check-ins possible and welcome. As a dedicated in-home pet sitter, I offer a comprehensive and compassionate approach to animal care, ensuring your pets thrive in their familiar environment. My experience includes professional grooming(bathing and drying only. Please refer out for complete groom), allowing me to maintain your pet's comfort and hygiene. I feel really confident in caring for animals who may experience stress in new situations. I can providing a calm and reassuring presence. Beyond direct pet care, I provide meticulous attention to detail. Home is Heaven. I’m a jack of all trades and your pet sitter could include light yard care, cleaning and professional meal prep to ensure your home remains, BETTER and MORE COMFORTABLE than you left it. My commitment is to deliver reliable, stress-free care, treating your pets and home with the utmost respect and diligence. Who knows? In a time that is desperate for community, maybe we’ll make life long friends in the process.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.

Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.

If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
