About: I've taken care of all types of animals most of my life. Walking, bathing, light grooming, playing fetch, car rides and lots of cuddles. I love them all. Currently in between jobs, taking care of my father and was recently let go from my job. I driver for uber for extra cash and would love to trade that work for being able to play and cuddle with your fur babies. I will follow the pet owners lead of how they treat their pet and adjust from there. I am happy to accommodate to the owner and pets preferences to provide the right kind of care and love for your pet.
“This was our first time using Jessica, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we met her, we felt comfortable and knew our dogs were in good hands. She was incredibly communicative throughout our trip and never made me feel like I was being a worry wart. She understood that leaving your pets with someone new can be stressful and was always kind, responsive, and reassuring. Jessica took excellent care of our dogs, especially our French Bulldog, who requires extra attention in the Utah heat. She clearly took her responsibilities seriously, made sure they had plenty of potty and outdoor breaks, cleaned up after them, and paid close attention to their needs. She also took great care of our home, brought in our packages, and left everything just as we had hoped. We truly lucked out finding Jessica. We would absolutely book with her again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and trustworthy Rover sitter.”

“Makayla dog sat at our house for a week and did a great job. We felt at ease knowing that our pup was being taken care of. She sent photo updates. She was responsive and communicative and very polite. Will hire again!”

“Sharon did a fantastic job watching Hank and Milo in my home. She followed all instruction given and sent many cute photos of the dogs during her stay. I came back to a clean home and very happy dogs. I would definitely hire her again!”

Let’s chat and see if I’m the perfect fit for your pup! As a retired grandma, I spend my days at home on my small farm, tending to my animals, working on projects, and enjoying the peaceful outdoors. Because I’m home most of the time, I can provide plenty of attention, companionship, and care for your pup. Whether they love to explore, relax in a quiet space, or soak up belly rubs, they’ll get the love and supervision they need. With a calm and cozy home environment, your dog will feel safe, comfortable, and right at home with me! Your dog’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. About: Offering overnight & Extended Stay Boarding for Dogs and Cats – Where Your Pets Are Treated Like Royalty (With a Side of Belly Rubs) Whether you're off on a weekend getaway or an extended adventure, I offer safe, loving overnight and long term boarding for dogs, cats, and any other animals that might need to be looked after. From a young age, I was the little girl bringing home the stray cats, dogs and even the occasional blow snakes pleading to keep them (sadly, I was never allowed to lol). That early passion turned into a lifelong love for animals of all kinds. Raised in what could be described as a miniature zoo, I grew up surrounded by dogs, cats, fish, rabbits, frogs, birds, snakes, turtles, hamsters, and even horses. So, you could say I’ve had some hands on experience with just about every kind of creature, and I genuinely love them all! Your pets will receive exceptional, personalized care, with plenty of love, playtime, and attention while you're away. I have a securely fenced backyard where pups can get some fresh air, stretch their legs, do their business, and enjoy a good game of fetch if that’s their thing. I am a stay at home momma (I do some work from home for my husband’s business) and I have a very flexible schedule, which means your pet will rarely be left alone and will always have someone nearby to go for walks and offer treats, tummy rubs, or a cozy lap. I have two animal loving daughters Hope (10) and Kendall (16) who take their unofficial roles as “assistant snugglers” very seriously (to the point where they will actually argue over who gets to sleep with the dog in their bed). Also part of the household is Buddy, our 9 year old teacup Yorkie. He’s tiny, but don’t let his size fool you, he will sometimes squeeze out a bark or two at new doggy friends upon meeting to establish his “alpha status” (it's a small dog thing), but after he gets that first initial bark out then he’s over it, and he gets along well with other animals, especially with cats. Most of the time, he’s doing his own thing (like sleeping on the back of the couch like a cat) and enjoying the perks of being a senior pup with main-character energy. And last but not least! We also have one small, two legged wild card, our 2year old son Christian (who sometimes reminds me more of a baby raccoon with how much he loves to explore and get into everything, including the trash can). He’s sweet and snuggly, and very smart and curious. He occasionally tries to sneak a bite of dog food or help himself to a dog treat or two when no one’s looking, but don’t worry, we keep a close eye on him (and the snacks!). While we make sure everyone sticks to their own food groups, he definitely adds a little extra character to the house, speaking of which (in full transparency) my home is cozy, welcoming, and full of love… and also sometimes full of toys, friends, crumbs, and the general chaos that comes with raising three kids and a Yorkie with a complex. So while it may not look exactly like a magazine spread as much as I’d like it to, it’s a happy, safe, and pet-loving environment where your furry friend will feel right at home. I understand dogs can get excited or overly vocal in new environments. I use calm supervision, structure, and positive redirection to help manage barking and keep all pets comfortable and relaxed during their stay While you're away, I’ll send regular photo and message updates so you can see how much fun your fur baby is having, and rest easy knowing that they are safe, happy, and maybe even a little bit spoiled. Being away from your pet is hard, but leaving them in loving, experienced (and slightly sticky or crumb-covered) hands? That should be the easy part. I also offer a $20 promo for all new clients that book with me for the first time if you use the link below: https://www.rover.com/sit/kellil04186 I work from home, offering flexibility to take dogs out as needed. Throughout the day, I have ample time to walk, play with, cuddle, and give attention to your pet(s). I have a fully fenced backyard where dogs can safely potty and play for short periods. Well-behaved, house-trained dogs are welcome to roam freely indoors. Others may need to be crate-trained (I have an extra crate available). Pets are allowed on the couch, and I will follow all owner instructions regarding feeding, schedules, and furniture access.
“Mark is the most amazing person! Our dog Tia loved him, and it broke our hearts to move away. You can’t go wrong with Mark, he’s a lovely human being!”

About: Hi, I’m Jay, and my wife Cindy is a full-time mom to our teenage daughter and our dog. Cindy grew up on a farm, which sparked her lifelong love for animals and plants. Over the years, we’ve cared for two Havanese dogs and a yellow Labrador Retriever. We currently have a very sweet female Havanese who gets along wonderfully with other dogs. Our daughter also loves playing with dogs and takes great care of them. We have a spacious, fenced yard where your small dog can play safely. We only accept hypoallergenic or non-shedding breeds. We generally welcome dogs weighing between 3 and 25 pounds and allow them to lounge on our couches. However, for safety reasons, we cannot accommodate aggressive dogs, so you may need to find another sitter in that case. Cindy is a full-time stay-at-home mom, so dogs in our care receive plenty of love, attention, and companionship throughout the day. Our whole family genuinely loves having dogs around, and we treat every pup as part of our family while they’re with us. We’re happy to provide dog beds, bowls, toys, and a crate if needed. We’re typically available 24/7 and always make sure your dog feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for. Hello! I’m Jay’s wife, Cindy. I start my mornings at 6 AM by heading out to the backyard with the dogs, and I love making sure they’re well cared for throughout the day. Mealtime is one of my favorite moments with them, so if you have any specific requests regarding your dog’s food, please feel free to let me know anytime! When dogs visit for the first time, they often want to go outside to the backyard every 30 minutes to an hour. This is usually because they are curious and exploring their new environment, seeking comfort in open spaces, marking their territory, or simply adjusting their bathroom habits while settling in. I enjoy spending time outside with the dogs, watching them explore and playing fetch—especially when the weather is nice. Even when they’re just roaming around the backyard, I always keep an eye on them to ensure they’re safe. When it’s time for a nap, I let the dogs rest peacefully while I send updates to their owners. I love being home all day, sharing my time with the dogs and my family. Whether your dog loves to play, cuddle, or needs some extra attention, I always tailor their care to ensure they’re comfortable and happy. Caring for dogs has been a big part of my life. Over the past five years, I’ve raised and nurtured dozens of Havanese and Labrador Retriever puppies before helping them find their forever homes. I also have a passion for photography! With my background in film, video production, and visual effects design, I love capturing special moments of the dogs through photos. I’m always happy to adjust to your dog’s preferences and needs, so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any special requests or questions!

FAQs for House Sitting - Stockton
Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of July 2026, there are 1,202 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Stockton. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Stockton walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Stockton maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Stockton choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Stockton. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
