“Danielle is amazing! She’s reliable, and her schedule works perfectly with ours. My boys love her weekly drop-ins, and she always follows instructions while giving them plenty of attention and care. We’re so grateful to have found her and highly recommend her!”

“Keoe is amazing & exceeded all our expectations. This was our first time using Rover, and to be honest, I was so nervous. When I met Keoe for the first time for our meet & greet, all the nerves went away. She was the perfect fit for our 2 German Shepherds. Her updates and pictures of each visit were so detailed and sweet. If you are looking for someone to not only look after your pet, but truly make them feel loved while you are away, Keoe is your person! Thank you a million times for spoiling, cuddling, and showing our boys love while we were away. Can’t wait to book you again soon! 🤍”

“We were very lucky to have Sandra taking care of our Pix for several days . Pix is a 16 years old yorkie with special needs, and Sandra took care of everything, including IV fluids. My Pix is always very relaxed around Sandra, and that says a lot! Thank you, Sandra, we hope you are available next time we need you!”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care our fur baby receives! She does an absolutely amazing job every single time, always on time, incredibly flexible, and truly professional. What we appreciate most are the frequent updates and photos, which keep us completely at ease and always in the loop. Her communication is outstanding, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about the fur babies she watches. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your fur babies like her own, she’s the one to go to. Highly recommend!!! ☺️”

“Amanda is such a great sitter she has dropped in for our four kitties for the last few years and recently started dropping in for our pups they adore her. We are very happy to have met Amanda. We will definitely book with her in the future.”

About: What sets me apart is that I have experience caring for dogs at different life stages and with different energy levels. I currently have two Siberian Huskies, ages 9 and 7, so I understand the patience, consistency, exercise, and attention that dogs need throughout their lives. I also have experience with puppies, including helping with routines, play, basic training, positive reinforcement, and keeping them mentally and physically stimulated. At the same time, caring for my older dogs has given me experience with senior dogs and understanding that they may need a slower pace, extra patience, and more individualized care. I’m very active and love taking dogs on walks, hikes, and trips to the dog park or beach when appropriate. I believe dogs thrive when they receive not only love and attention, but also exercise, enrichment, and companionship. Most importantly, I treat every dog as an individual. I take the time to learn their personality, routine, comfort level, and needs, and I’m always willing to learn and follow their owner’s instructions to make sure they feel safe and happy while in my care. 🐾❤️ About Me 🐾 I’ve had a passion for dogs since I was a little girl, and caring for them has always been something I genuinely love. I have two Siberian Huskies of my own, ages 9 and 7, so I understand that every dog has their own personality, energy level, routine, and needs. I’ve been dog sitting for about two years and truly enjoy spending time with all kinds of dogs. I don’t have a breed preference—I’m happy to care for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities! I’m available mornings and evenings, and I love keeping dogs active and engaged. Whether it’s going for a walk, playing at the dog park, hiking, or simply giving them attention and companionship, I believe dogs deserve plenty of enrichment and time outside rather than being home alone all day. Having high-energy Huskies has also taught me a lot about patience, exercise, play, and keeping dogs mentally and physically stimulated. I’m always willing to learn more and make sure every dog in my care feels safe, comfortable, loved, and happy. I’d love the opportunity to meet your pup and give them the same care and attention I give my own! 🐶❤️ I care for every pet as if they were my own. Before each stay or visit, I like to learn about their routine, feeding schedule, exercise needs, medications if applicable, and any special instructions from their owner. In my client’s home, I make sure to keep their normal routine as consistent as possible. I provide plenty of attention, playtime, walks, and exercise based on their energy level and comfort. I’m also respectful of their home and make sure everything is kept clean and secure. When caring for pets in my home, I provide a safe, comfortable environment with plenty of supervision, attention, and opportunities for play and exercise. Having two Huskies of my own, ages 9 and 7, I’m comfortable with both high-energy dogs and dogs who may prefer a slower pace. My goal is for every pet to feel safe, comfortable, loved, and cared for while their owner is away. 🐾❤️
“Katherine was amazing! It was the first time trying Rover and I’m so glad I chose Katherine. She communicates so much and the pictures were sooo helpful in easing my mind. Thank you Katherine!!”

“Bobby was fantastic! He completed a drop-in visit for our dog and went above and beyond our expectations. Even though we only booked a 30 minute visit, he spent extra time playing with her to make sure she got plenty of attention and exercise. He also made sure she was fed and that her water bowl was full before leaving. It gave us great peace of mind knowing she was so well cared for while we were away. Bobby was reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. We will absolutely book him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a trustworthy pet sitter!”

“Daphne did an incredible job! She was on time, very communicative and I knew that my dog was in great hands! She followed my instructions carefully and I will definitely use her again! I highly recommend her.”

About: I have always had a passion for dogs since I was a young girl!! I have pet sit for neighbors, family and friends, and also worked for a doggy day care as a playroom attendant for a year! Your pup will mean everything and I mean EVERYTHING to me!! I have plenty of time to pop in and check on your pup! During the school year I am full time on weekdays, but still have plenty of time to put your pup first! I am not able to keep pups at my home, but at a clients home during pop ins I am able to take the pup out (on leash for a walk or free range in a backyard if able!), snuggle your pup for as long as needed, and of course feed!! For house sitting, I prefer to do as many check ins as needed, but cannot stay overnight unless absolutely necessary. Caring for your pup will always be my top priority :)
About: I've lived with dogs since I was old enough to walk; I have learned how to take care of of them, and read behavior and body language to maintain pet safety. Pets boarding with me will be treated with all the care and attention I give my own, with supervised exercise and playtime. I have my own dog, so for the purpose of safety and comfort, a meet and greet will be necessary before any booking longer than a single night. I currently have an open schedule and can adjust to accommodate pet needs, be it evening breaks, intermittent feeding, or early wake up calls, all on most days of the week. Pets in my care will have a full, secure yard to run and play outside, and a clean, air conditioned, non-smoking home to relax and sleep in, and will be afforded the same attention and love I show my own pets.

About: I have 2 dogs of my own and have always loved animals and work this them all the time. I also work for a friend who does fostering for cats. I also have the wag! App and use it as well, you can find me on there and book a service through there too. I’m currently a full time student at MSJC but have a few days off so I am willing to pick up some work on the days I have free and work with furry friends. I have a fenced off yard with 2 friendly dogs, I have a pool in the backyard that is regularly cleaned (not very deep and easy to get out of for most dogs) I have chickens but they are in a cage so no contact can be made. I do have neighbors with dogs but the fence is secure and no one can touch each other. In addition I have 5 cats who all love dogs (might be scared but not mean).
About: I have loved dogs my whole life. My dog Kesha lived for almost 18 years. He passed away from old age a few years ago, and it was a big loss for our family. But we understand that unfortunately, our pets can’t stay with us forever. Later, I moved to Europe, where I spent about a year taking care of dogs and cats for other people. After moving to America and getting our own home, Bax, a pit bull from a shelter, came to stay with us as a foster dog. We were only supposed to keep him temporarily, but our whole family fell in love with him and we couldn’t let him go. So Bax became part of our family. Later, our neighbors asked us to take care of their dog while they were away. We agreed and realized how much we enjoyed having another pet in our home. We live in a very safe neighborhood, have a fenced backyard, and plenty of space in our home for another pet who needs a comfortable place to stay. We have young children, so it is very important that your pet is friendly with kids and does not show aggression toward them. As a loving mom, I know how important it is to feel that someone you love is safe and cared for. I will take care of your pets with the same attention, patience, and warmth that I give to my own family. I’m home most of the time and have a flexible schedule. My children go to school on their own, so I don’t need to leave for school drop-offs or pick-ups. I personally take care of all pets during bookings and make sure they receive plenty of attention, love, and care. We live in a quiet and safe neighborhood and have a fenced backyard where dogs can play and spend time outside. Our home has plenty of space, and your pet will always get lots of attention and care. We also have a friendly dog, Bax, and young children, so we can only accept pets that are friendly with kids and other dogs.
About: I’ve taken care of and have had dogs for as long as I can remember. I used to help my grandma breed miniature schnauzers and have loved taking care of dogs ever since. I’m currently working full-time at a hospital as a nursing assistant. I would love to make a little bit of extra money doing the other thing I love most which is caring for dogs I want every pet in my care to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while they’re away from their owner. I’ll keep a close eye on them, give them plenty of attention and playtime, and make sure their needs and routines are followed. I’ll also keep you updated so you can have peace of mind knowing your pet is in good hands.
About: I spend lots of time with dogs of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments. I also take pride being a dog trainer apprentice in the making. I currently work full-time time at a dog ranch and would love to spend my days off with your pups! More tail-waggin fun for pups! I follow client instructions and care for their pups. From feeding, medication if needed, walking, playing, grooming, baths if needed, and spending quality time too.

About: I’ve taken care of neighbors pets & have grown up with pets my whole life. I’ve had a few puppies on my own and raised them since they were little. I love them so much and am excited to meet and care for your babies ♥️ I work from home so in the evening I take leia my dog for a walk but try to take her in the morning when I have time for that as well. Fed everyday on a schedule and our routine is to end the night with a treat for her doing great. Fenced yard and access to inside easily to stay cool. I try my best to always be mindful of my pets needs and set them up for success when we’re gone for more than a few hours.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first Meet & Greet .
sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.
Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.
