About: Animals have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve personally cared for dogs, cats, and small animals throughout my life, and my experience extends well beyond pet ownership. I hold a degree in biology with coursework focused on animal behavior, physiology, and research. This background helps me better understand animal body language, behavior, and individual needs. I’ve worked with a wide variety of species, including exotic hoofstock and birds in a zoological setting, as well as pigs, goats, and birds through wildlife rescue and animal care work. In addition, I spent approximately three years working in an animal shelter environment, where I handled and photographed thousands of dogs to help them find loving homes. Through that experience, I learned how to safely interact with dogs of all sizes, ages, temperaments, and energy levels. Whether your pet is outgoing, shy, energetic, a senior, or requires a little extra patience, I strive to provide attentive, reliable care tailored to their individual personality and routine. I’m a small business owner and public school teacher, which gives me a structured but flexible schedule that works well for pet care. I currently have more availability during weekends, school holidays, and breaks (especially during the summer months), when I can offer extended and consistent care for pets and house sitting. During the school year on regular weekdays, I’m typically available in the mornings and evenings, with greater flexibility on weekends. I’m happy to discuss specific dates and needs to see what works best for your pet’s routine. I care deeply about consistency and communication, so pets feel settled, safe, and well cared for, and owners can have peace of mind while they’re away. I provide pet care in my clients’ homes, where I focus on maintaining each pet’s normal routine in the environment where they feel most comfortable. I follow all care instructions closely and make sure feeding, walks, medication, and daily routines are completed on time and as directed. I treat every home with a high level of respect and care, keeping spaces clean, organized, and exactly as I found them. I’m mindful of both the pet’s needs and the owner’s home, and I prioritize reliability, safety, and consistency in every visit or stay. I also believe clear communication is essential, so I provide updates as needed to give owners peace of mind while they’re away.

I am a freelance photographer so my schedule is very flexible and can be available for check ins throughout the day or scheduled walks and stays. I have an unfenced yard away from the street and I am also happy to take your dog for a beach day or hike outside of my home.

About: An animal lover since I was a little girl, I’ve happily cared for many pets and animals in my life, including horses, dogs, cats, birds, fish, guinea pigs, even a snake! I adore all animals and think we can learn a lot from them, but I have a soft spot for our furry four legged friends. Over the years I’ve cared for many neighbors’, friend’s and family pets while they’ve been away, whether house sitting or inviting their pets into my cozy home for a little staycation. I don’t have any pets currently and am dearly missing the company, so I’d love to care for yours! I’m a very cuddly, attentive, reliable and playful pet owner who will shower your pet with love and care, and send many photos and updates. I typically work full time Monday through Friday, with a few days working from home in between. Weekends are usually wide open, and I’d love to fill them with a furry friend! Fridays - Mondays are most flexible for me, but I’d love to play around with my schedule to suit your needs! I live in a residential, pet-friendly neighborhood that’s perfect for walks or runs. I have a yard but no fence, so will be extra careful when going outside. Lots of comfy rugs, pillows, and furniture inside for lounging :) happy to crate your dog if desired, or house sit if preferred. Very flexible!

About: Local to Big Island for the last 6 years, based in upper palisades but willing to travel up to 25 miles. I have 10+ years of animal experience - beginning with volunteering at my local humane society and animal shelters at the age of 16, to training service dogs for children with autism for National Service Dogs and later on becoming a certified dog trainer. While completing my undergraduate degree I worked at 2 different pet stores and dog walked & dog sat for cash on weekends. I have been house/dog sitting regularly for 4+ years for two local families - one of which with 3 elderly wiener dogs and the other with two high energy samoyed puppies turned adult pups. My undergraduate degree is in Animal Biology, and my graduate degree is in Animal Behaviour & Welfare - both completed at University of Guelph in Canada where I was born. Although my specialization was in African penguins, I have lots of love for fluffier animals too. I have worked in the veterinary industry for 3+ years as a vet assistant/technician, but since moving back to Hawaii I’ve moved into the tourism industry. I am comfortable working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments, and have experience working with dogs of all breeds and ages. I’m currently working part time in the tourism industry, so I have plenty of flexibility in my schedule to accommodate Rover care needs for my clients. With plenty of experience pet sitting and house sitting, I realize that every situation is going to be slightly different — I try to match what the pets are used to first and foremost, the walks pet owners tend to take their dogs on and do activities that are already a part of the pets routine. Though I never let dogs off leash while dog sitting, even if owners usually do; the possibility of losing a pet is not something I’m comfortable with, so better safe than sorry.

About: Grown up with dogs & cats. I consider myself an animal mooch as I am always hanging out with my friends and familys dogs or Rover. due to my work lifestyle. I am a Firefighter / Emergency Medical Technician. Love animals and all that comes with it. I can take your pup hiking or just around the block depending on the circumstance. (Or type of dog). I live for the wild and spend most of my winter traveling & snowboarding. Cannot have animals myself due to my schedule during the summer time so I try to live through others pets haha. About: Although I recently joined Rover, I have taken care of animals consistently for 3 years+ on the Islands with excellent references and past experiences. I moved 2 years ago to the Islands to pursue working with animals full time and follow my calling to be of service to animals in a deeper way. About: I have 5 years of hands-on experience caring for my own dog, a German Shepherd, who has been with me since he was a puppy. I currently work afternoon shifts from 2 pm to 10 pm, which means I’m fully available in the mornings for walks, drop-in visits, and quality time with your dog. My days off are usually Tuesdays and Wednesdays, when I have full availability and flexibility. I’m reliable, organized, and always plan my schedule carefully to make sure every dog gets the attention they deserve. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication at all times. I carefully follow each owner’s instructions regarding routines, feeding, walks, and house rules. I’m respectful in clients’ homes and always make sure dogs are secure, comfortable, and calm. I keep environments clean and controlled, and I treat every dog as if it were my own.
