She handled them both beautifully. She sent us photos and updated frequently to relieve our worry. Hopefully Carrie will always be available to assist with our future house and dog needs. Highly recommend! Thank you!”

About: What sets me apart is my deep, hands-on experience with pets who need extra care and attention. I cared for my dog Maya, who was blind and diabetic, and I was responsible for administering her insulin and making sure she stayed safe, comfortable, and happy. I also cared for my soul dog Marcello, who developed anxiety in his later years and needed patience, consistency, and a calm environment. Both of my dogs were seniors who lived long, full lives (15 and 17), so I’m very comfortable with senior care, medication routines, and recognizing subtle changes in behavior or health. I’ve also fostered multiple dogs over the years, including a puppy, so I’m familiar with different temperaments, energy levels, and basic training needs. Because I work from home, your pet will get plenty of attention, supervision, and companionship throughout the day—not just quick check-ins. I’ve had animals my entire life, and while I can’t have one of my own right now, caring for others’ pets truly brings me joy. I treat every animal like family and aim to create a calm, loving, and reliable environment while you’re away. I’m currently working remotely with a great deal of flexibility! I have no set meetings or calls that would conflict with a pet care schedule and can plan accordingly to accomodate your pets needs. I am unable to take your pets to my home due to lease regulations but can come watch your animals in the comfort of your own home. I would defer yo you as the pet owner to guide me on your pets personality, likes and dislikes and get to know them to ensure top notch care!

For four days, Willow went absolutely above and beyond—not only taking incredible care of our dogs, but also treating our home with the utmost respect. We got regular updates, photos, and could truly relax knowing everything was in such good hands. Our dogs were happy, comfortable, and clearly well-loved the entire time. It’s rare to find someone this reliable, thoughtful, and attentive—we’ll definitely be using Willow again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for top-notch care!”

About: Hi! I’m a 20-year-old lifelong dog lover with hands-on experience caring for dogs of all kinds. I’ve grown up around dogs for as long as I can remember and have always treated them like family. Last year, I had the opportunity to work at Doggy daycare for seven months, where I gained professional experience caring for dogs in a daycare environment. I loved getting to know each dog’s personality, keeping them safe and happy, and making sure they received plenty of attention and care. I also have a 6-year-old Pit/Lab mix of my own, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can trust with your furry family member. Growing up, I would also help neighbors with dog sitting, walking, bathing, and general pet care. I’m excited to continue growing my experience while doing something I genuinely love. I’ll treat your dog with the same patience, attention, and love that I give my own. I’d love the opportunity to meet you and your pup! 🐾❤️ I currently work part-time as a house cleaner, but my schedule is flexible and I’m able to work my job around my Rover availability. I’m very excited to grow my experience caring for dogs and cats and would love to make as much availability as possible for your fur babies! I understand that every pet has their own routine and needs, and I’m happy to work around your schedule to provide dependable, loving care. Whether your pet needs walks, playtime, cuddles, feeding, or simply some company while you’re away, I’m here to help! 🐾❤️ Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities! Since I’m unable to have dogs in my current household, I offer pet sitting in your home where your dog can stay in a familiar and comfortable environment. I take safety seriously during walks and always stay attentive to my surroundings. I also carry appropriate safety and protective items with me in case of unexpected situations while we’re out. I’ll follow your pet’s routine, respect your home, and make sure your dog receives plenty of care, attention, and love. My goal is for you to feel completely comfortable knowing your fur baby is in good hands while you’re away. 🐾❤️

About: I am a local college student with a focus on Early Childhood Education. Animals have been my safe space for as long as I can remember. I have two dogs and a bearded dragon that I consider my family. We love to go for walks and play outside in the sunshine! I am happy to assist with any of your pet needs as my schedule is very flexible! I am a full-time college student and currently only have classes on Tuesday and Thursday. Even with classes two days out of the week, my days/evenings are flexible. I have a fenced in yard and the dogs and I enjoy getting outside to sit in the sun and throw the ball. I also enjoy taking my bearded dragon outside for some natural basking. The dogs and I go for daily walks and we have our daily routine feedings. Baths are given every one to two weeks (depending on how stinky they are).

About: I truly feel that it is my duty to ensure the happiness and safety of each pet in my care. I keep that motto at the forefront of my mind each and every day that I spend with your pet. Because I am aware of how much pets contribute to our lives, it is my responsibility to ensure that your pet receives the same level of affection and care as they do at home. Even though I've been an animal lover all my life, my experience with dogs is much more extensive than that. Because I love dogs so much, making them as happy as possible is second nature to me. I've worked in cat and dog boarding and daycare for more than ten years. I've worked with hundreds of dogs and wouldn't change it for the world! I have loved and cared for all sizes of dogs, animals with special needs and pets in need of injections or oral medications also Seniors and declining. When acquiring a new customer, usually I like to arrange a meet-and-greet. It's a great way to make sure we're all a good match, which is very important to me. Also, it gives us a chance to talk face-to-face about your expectations for your dog's care. Since you know your dog better than anyone else, it's always fun to talk to owners in person about what makes him or her tail wag. Finally. I adore getting to know new dogs and demonstrate I am a welcome presence and I am here to make friends. My everyday availability is twenty- four hours a day and seven days a week unless i update my calendar because i am completely booked with pets. In my home - No pets allowed on beds, fenced yard, non-smoking household, walks every few hours in owners home - walks every few hours, overnight boarding available

Katelyn took great care of our Bonnie, as well as our home. The first night we had alarms going off due a older smoke alarm at the end of its life. Katelyn contacted us and we worked out the fix quickly and easily. It was fortunate she was there to help as well as calm Bonnie's nerves. She had great communication throughout the rest of the week we were gone, including pictures and videos of our girl enjoying life. (We're not 100% sure she's happy we're back and her new friend is gone...) We'll definitely reach out to Katelyn again in the future when we plan our next trip.

FAQs for House Sitting - Kings Bay Base

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kings Bay Base walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kings Bay Base maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kings Bay Base choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.

Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.

During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Meet & Greets are a great way to prepare your pet and sitter for longer stays or first-time bookings. Read our tips for your first .

sitters on Rover set their own , which you can find on their profile under their contact information. Sitters may set a same-day, one-, three-, or seven-day cancellation policy. Cancelling within your sitter’s cancellation policy qualifies you for a full refund.

Same-day cancellations for recurring services, which include walks, drop-ins, and day care, follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for pet boarding and house sitting, if you cancel after 12 pm on the applicable cancellation deadline, you’ll receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for any remaining days.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means you will get a full refund and our support team will work with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
