About: Army Reservist and lifelong animal lover with experience caring for multiple pets. Responsible, trustworthy, honorable, patient, and dedicated to providing excellent care, attention, safety, and companionship for every pet. As an Army Reservist, I serve one weekend each month and have a flexible schedule throughout the rest of the month. This allows me plenty of time to provide reliable, attentive care for your pets while doing something I truly enjoy. I treat every pet as if they were my own. I follow all owner instructions, ensure pets have fresh water, food, exercise, and attention, and prioritize their safety at all times. As an Army Reservist, reliability and responsibility are important to me, and I strive to provide dependable care and regular updates to pet owners.
About: I haven’t had much experience with pet sitting but I love animals of all kinds and sizes and I enjoy being around them and getting to just relax with them. Animals have helped with my anxiety a lot I have two emotional support animals in my life so being around animals is the perfect job for me I’d love to have the opportunity and ability to dog sit and take care of your dogs I’m hoping to expand my horizon past just babysitting and would really appreciate anyone that is willing to take a chance on me and help me expand my horizons. I’m a full time college student so my hours will fluctuate but I am more than willing to work around everything as best as I can
About: I have cared for animals my entire life, including dogs, cats, fish, hamsters, gerbils, ferrets, and turtles. I’ve had 5 dogs and 6 cats throughout my life and currently have 3 additional cats to the 6. Growing up around so many different animals has taught me how to recognize their individual personalities, needs, routines, and comfort levels. I’m comfortable with feeding, walking, playtime, cleaning, companionship, and providing plenty of love and attention. I truly enjoy being around animals and treat every pet as if they were my own. As a stay-at-home mom and Army Reservist, I have a flexible daily and weekly schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time to pet care. I’m home most of the day, so I can provide frequent attention, bathroom breaks, walks, feeding, playtime, and companionship. I’m able to work pet care into my routine without rushing, and I enjoy having animals around throughout the day. My schedule also allows me to be flexible with different pets’ routines and their owners’ needs. I care for every pet based on their individual routine, personality, and needs. In a client’s home, I would follow their instructions carefully, keep their normal feeding and bathroom schedule, provide exercise and playtime, and make sure they receive plenty of attention and affection. I would also keep their space clean and comfortable and communicate with their owner about how they’re doing. My goal is to make pets feel safe, comfortable, and loved while their family is away.

Mikhalea absolutely went above and beyond to make sure my cat Doug well not just taken care of, but thriving. It can be nerve wracking having such a long trip away when you don’t have family or close friends nearby, but knowing that Doug was so well taken care of made it so much easier!!

Maya D. Is by far the best dog caretaker I have ever worked with. She truly loves helping animals and cares for mine so well. She handles medication and temperaments like a boss. When I had two male dogs that needed to be separated at all times and still be taken out and cared for she did not hesitate to help and not once was there contact or concerns. These are the best words that I have and they are still not enough! Thank you so much Maya.

Hayden, I want to compliment your service with Cilantro and Jasper; it was awesome! They enjoyed the loving attention and the meals prepared. Alan appreciated the help as well! I got to know your passion for animal care which mirrors ours. We will be looking for you when needed and spreading the word about you and Rover! We talked about an occasional service you may be able to provide - nail clipping. Let me know if that is possible.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
