“This was the first time Chelsea took care of our two cats, and she did a fantastic job! She provided detailed updates and excellent photos. She also took the time needed to gently encourage our shy cat to leave his hiding place and gave both kitties plenty of attention.”

“Darcy was awesome. She took great care of my Daniel. She was a great problem solver and care taker when there was a problem getting a hold of me. I appreciate her ingenuity of making things work. I would definitely have her come again and recommend to others.”

“Tricia took such wonderful care of my two cats while I was out of town for a week. One of my cats was sick and she did an amazing job keeping up with all of her daily meds. My kitties warmed up to her quickly, even my shy girl. Will absolutely be booking with Tricia again in the future :)”

“Michael did an amazing job with pet sitting our small kitten & guinea pigs. I was nervous for the first time leaving the kitten, & his photos reassured me. He is a great photographer! He seems to really be an animal lover. Most importantly he was reliable & communicated well - very much appreciated during a busy vacation. Very happy we found him.”

“We went out of town for 2 weeks & they took awesome care of our 2 cats! They made us feel really comfortable, great communication while we were gone, sent us photos, & even brought in our packages. We are really happy to have found people we can trust, & will be using them every time we travel. Thank you so much!”

About: I’ve lived in a home with dogs for my entire life. The last 13 I’ve had the privilege of caring for my own fur-babies. I lost my oldest in 2023 and I understand how our animals become family. I also empathize with senior animals who may need more attention and have to follow specific diet and medication schedules. Our animals deserve the best care; what’s the saying? Who really saves who? I currently work full time near the airport in Greensboro and am available for house sitting including overnight stays, lunch time potty breaks, after 5-6pm care during the week, and weekends. I unfortunately live in a rental that does not allow extra pets. I’m available to come to your home and into your pets space to make them feel comfortable and cared for when needed— following any instructions and set routines in place.
“Matt provided an abundant amount of attention to our Maxie. He comunícate with us on every visit and our hearts were touched with all the happiness. We had no worries and we’re able to enjoy our family vacation. Thank you Matt for loving Max as much as we do.”

“Bre is the best! This was my first time using a pet sitter that wasn’t a neighbor. Bre is super friendly, gives detailed reports, sent pics of my cat, gave my cat love and attention. Bre you went above and beyond! Thank you for making my first experience an amazing one!”

“Ashley did a fabulous job. She committed to the schedule, was on time each visit. Spent quality time with our baby, took photos and gave us a brief update of each visit. I cannot recommend Ashley enough! She treated Bogey as though he belonged to her, gave him lots of cuddles.”

About: Hello! I’m an animal science major at North Carolina State University. I’ve been pet sitting for 6 years now for friends and family. I worked at Willow Run Dog Boarding for 4 years before they sold it. I’ve also helped out long-term for a family who worked night shifts for a year and I foster dogs through Saving Grace while I’m at school! I’m a college student home for the summer, and I'm currently looking for a part-time job. I’m free all day everyday 🤗 I have experience caring for both dogs and cats, including feeding, walks, playtime, and cleaning litter boxes. At home, we have a fenced-in yard and one husky, but I prefer caring for pets through home visits so pets can stay comfortable in their own environment. I’m also happy to help with small tasks around the house like watering plants, bringing in mail, or keeping things tidy while you’re away. I enjoy being active and outdoors, while also making sure pets stay safe and comfortable in the heat.
“Holly has been fantastic with my 9 week old GSD puppy. She communicates promptly before and after her visit. She is a weekly visitor and I know that Dakota is in good hands.”

About: I’ve been taking care of dogs since I was 11 years old. Family, friends and neighbors have entrusted me to come into their homes to feed, let out, clean up and give lots of attention and love to their pets. I am a teacher’s assistant at an elementary school, so I’m available early mornings and anytime after 3:30 during the week. I’m also available on weekends and during the summertime. I’m currently unable to take pets in my home as I have my own sweet Labrador Retriever and Australian Labradoodle and an adorable cat, but I’m available to travel to your residence to take excellent care of your pets.

About: I have had dogs my whole life and have had years of experience of learning how to take care of animals. I am comfortable with feeding, walking, playing and giving lots of love to your pets! I understand all needs and will help make them feel safe and comfortable while their owners are away! I love being around dogs and will treat every single puppy like they are my own. I currently work a part-time job, which gives me plenty of flexibility and time to care for your pets. I have my own dogs and cats that I care for every day, so I am experienced with daily routines such as feeding, walking, playtime, and giving them the attention they need. I would be happy to include your pets in that same loving care and treat them as if they were my own I am available for drop-in visits and can stop by your home to feed, walk, play with, and check on your pets while you’re away. I understand the importance of keeping pets comfortable in their own environment and will make sure they receive plenty of attention, care, and companionship during each visit. I am dependable, responsible, and will treat your home and pets with the same care I give my own.
“Had a last minute trip with no ability to take my pug with me. I quickly jumped on Rover for the 1st time & found Kyleigh. She responded to my message in minutes and came by that evening to meet my dog. He was so happy to meet her, I knew I found the perfect dog sitter for him! I highly recommend Kyleigh. I will definitely be using her services again in the future!”
“Prompt, responsable, and most importantly, kitty approved! My shy girls hung around for a peek and even let Megan grab a pic. We would highly recommend Megan and will definitely ask her to pet sit for us again.”

This was the first time Chelsea took care of our two cats, and she did a fantastic job! She provided detailed updates and excellent photos. She also took the time needed to gently encourage our shy cat to leave his hiding place and gave both kitties plenty of attention.

Bella is extremely sweet. I was concerned my giant breed mix rescue (10 months old with a mouthing problem) might be too much of a handful to ask of any sitter, but she stepped in enthusiastically and I have nothing but positives to say. I got multiple photos each visit (Monday-Friday), a fairly detailed rundown (including my dog’s energy levels, training progress, etc.), and Tulip has been in a great mood every evening when I come home from work. This was my first time having a caretaker for a pet, so I was very nervous (especially about my house being a mess) but I gained so much relief from the help and would absolutely recommend Bella to anyone looking for help.

Summer took care of my kitties for the first time recently and I would highly recommend her to take care of your babies. She kept in touch with updates and I appreciate her time taking care of my kitties. I will certainly call on her again and am grateful we met.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
