Aaliyah is a new house/pet sitter for us and recently “sat” for us for a weekend away. She was great! She was very attentive to our two dogs and did everything we asked (and more). I will definitely be using Aaliyah again. She has proven to be responsible and trustworthy.

Georgia was fantastic! She was available on short notice and took amazing care of our dog, Milo. Our dog is an anxious rescue, but she is a dog whisperer and immediately put our boy at ease and he was even wanting to sleep with her night one and showing his belly which he doesn’t do unless he’s 100% comfortable. I apologized for running low on his supplies and for him being a little stinky since his bath was delayed and she didn’t even hesitate to offer to go grab what he needed and even offered to bathe him. On top of taking great care of him, she took care of us anxious dog parents and communicated every step of the way and gave lots of updates and pictures. I couldn’t recommend her enough. Will definitely be using her in the future.

About: I have over 10 years of hands-on experience caring for pets of all ages, sizes, and temperaments. I previously worked in a veterinary clinic, where I gained experience with medication administration, monitoring health changes, senior pet care, and handling anxious or special-needs animals. I’m confident caring for puppies, seniors, and pets with medical or dietary needs. I treat every pet like family and prioritize comfort, safety, and routine. I currently have a flexible schedule that allows me to dedicate plenty of time and attention to pet care. I’m available for weekday and weekend services, including drop-ins, walks, and overnight care. Because of my flexible availability, I can easily accommodate feeding schedules, medication times, and pets who need extra supervision or companionship. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I follow all care instructions closely and maintain a calm, clean, and secure environment. With my veterinary experience, I’m trained to recognize signs of stress or illness and respond appropriately. I’m comfortable administering medications, caring for senior pets, and adjusting care routines to meet each pet’s individual needs. I always provide updates so owners feel confident and at ease.

About: I was a member of APAC (Association for a Per Adoption Center) for over 7 years where I fostered dogs out of my home with my family and promoted them to new homes. I also have taken care of dogs and cats my entire life and what their needs are. I have 2 cats of my own and a dog at my residence. I currently do not have any other jobs, as I am a recent graduate in search of one. I would be going to your house, or staying at your house to ensure safety and comfortability of the pet. I am able to go over multiple times a day or stay overnight if needed. I am a huge animal person, so lots of hugs and cuddles would be given. I would prefer a fenced in yard, but if the animal needs to be taken on walks or leashed potty breaks that is completely fine.

This was our first time using a house/dog sitter. Sherri did a wonderful job in everything. She was friendly and professional. Her rapport with our puppy was immediate. We felt comfortable that he was being well cared for. Sherri kept us well informed while we were away. Her detailed notes were very helpful. It was clear from our dog's behavior on our return that this was a pleasant experience for him. We will definitely call on Sherri again when we need exceptional dog sitting.

Victoria exceeded all expectations! I have 2 cats (15 & 6) that both required different levels of care and Victoria was able to handle both of them. She was very thorough in her prep and we had a video consult to go over all expectations, requests, questions, etc. She was detailed and asked questions I hadn’t even thought to cover. During the pet sitting, she kept me updated at all time and provided pictures to let me know the girls were doing okay. My 15 year old cat requires multiple medications that can sometimes be difficult to administer and she was able to administer with no issues. Nothing about this was a negative experience and I would recommend her to anyone!! I will definitely be rebooking her in the future.

About: I have always loved caring for other dogs when growing up. My pup is the same way. We both love visitors and would love to have your fur baby stay with us I work from home Full time. My routine with my own fur baby is feeding twice a day and potty breaks 3 times a day. We also do frequent trips to the dog park onsite. My Penny girl is one of the most social dogs I’ve ever had. She loves meeting new dogs and is such a good host when we have fur visitors. I work remotely which allows me to give quite a bit of attention to my pup and any visitors.

About: I grew up in a home that always had multiple animals around, so caring for dogs has felt second nature for as long as I can remember. I’ve always felt very connected to dogs in particular, and enjoy getting to know them when entering someone’s home. I’m comfortable with a range of temperaments, energy levels, ages, and needs. (Fun fact: “Connor” is derived from a Gaelic word meaning “lover of hounds.” Some things are just meant to be.) I’m a recent UT Austin graduate currently training to become a teacher. Working with animals is one way I like to decompress outside of that. I currently substitute teach, which grants me a considerable amount of availability/flexibility — so feel free to reach out for pet care whenever! My approach toward dogs is attentive and low-stress. I treat pets the way I’d want my own cared for, with consistent routine, close attention to behavior & body language, and prompt communication if anything unexpected comes up. I’m comfortable in clients’ homes and prioritize keeping things calm and familiar for the animal, as well as respecting the space that I’ve been invited into.

FAQs for House Sitting - Kendalia

Frequently asked questions about Rover

As of July 2026, there are 1,453 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Kendalia. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Kendalia walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Kendalia maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kendalia choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Kendalia. On Rover:

  • 85% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 94% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 98% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
