I'm a full time teacher so only available for pet care on weekends and breaks during the school year but have full availability in summer. I love having dogs in my house where they can have their own bedroom space or share my room. 1.9 acres next to the rail trail means lots of walks and time spent outside. Felix, who is not always sure about new people he meets, immediately took to Kathleen when she came to our home for a meet-and-greet. Kathleen sensed Felix’s apprehension and quickly put him at ease with her calm, affectionate, low-key response. On the basis of our visit, we mutually agreed to have Kathleen stay with Felix a few days later while we enjoyed a quick 24-hour getaway. While we were away, we had good, clear communication by text message. Although we were delayed getting home, Kathleen volunteered to stay until we returned so she could give us a verbal report, which we appreciated very much. When she left, Felix’s dejected body-language showed he was sad to see her go; clearly he had enjoyed her company. We look forward with confidence to having Kathleen stay with Felix again.”

About: I’ve been working with dogs since I was 7 years old at my grandmothers dog grooming salon. I’ve always loved both dogs and cats, and I’ve always felt a connection to them. I now have a dog and cat, and am open to caring for more animals! Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine very easily. On days that I’m working I have plenty of time to walk my dog and feed her in the morning, and once I get out of work i have just enough time to do a walk and feed her! On my days off I tend to spend as much time with my pets as possible, wether is playing, walking, or cuddling! I care for my pets at home by spending quality time with them. My dog loves walks, playing with toys, doing tricks for treats, and cuddling. My cat enjoys lounging with me some days, but he isn’t very playful.

I’ve found every dog has unique needs and especially adoptees and rescues, need extra patience and understanding to gain your trust. I will treat your dogs as if they were my own, with care and love. I have experience with both puppies and aging dogs. At any stage in their life I’m happy to do what I can to make them feel comfortable and cared for. I have cared for cats and dogs with daily check ins and in-house care. I feel strongly that both parties be comfortable with the pet care. You, the owners, should feel comfortable with me watching your pet(s) just as I should feel confident watching them. This is not just a way to earn some extra income (while that is important) your pet(s) deserve the best and if we are not a good match both parties are welcome to decline the care if we feel that’s best so your loved one(s), you, and I all feel good about the situation. About: I grew up with 5 dogs, 2 large and 3 small. I went through professional training with both large dogs. Also have had many dogs since and have been pet sitting for years! I have a flexible work schedule. I can work from home whenever necessary and my job does not require a lot of meetings for periods of time, so I would be attentive.
