“Heather is loving and kind. Our Molly had a wonderful time. It was her first time at Heather’s. She came home a very happy pup. Heather sent us pictures of Molly every day. It warmed our hearts to see how much fun she was having!!”

“Very friendly and caring! Learned all that she needed to be sure that my dog was well cared for while we were away. Sent pictures and videos and communication was awesome.”

“I cannot say enough great things about this dog sitting family! My two dogs absolutely adored their two kiddos! They enjoyed playing outside with the family's dog, Yogi. Even Rowen, who usually prefers staying inside, joined in on the fun and had a wonderful time.🤗 I felt at ease the whole time I was out of town because they kept me updated and sent pictures. 10/10 would recommend 👌🏽”

About: Hi! I’m your friendly neighborhood pet sitter—animal nerd, plant parent, and professional chaos manager 🌿🐾 From pocket-sized hamsters to majestic Great Danes, opinionated parrots to mysterious snakes, I love animals of every variety. Fur, feathers, or scales? I’m in. I approach pet care like a science and an art—learning routines, decoding body language, and adapting my care to match each pet’s unique personality (yes, even the dramatic ones). When I’m not hanging out with pets, I’m probably fussing over plants and making sure every living thing around me is thriving. Whether it’s following a color-coded care sheet, calming nervous pets, administering meds, or watering your beloved jungle, I’ve got it handled. You can head out knowing your pets (and plants!) are safe, spoiled, and genuinely cared for by someone who treats every home like a tiny ecosystem worth protecting. 🐈🌸🐶🐍🌱 Your furry, feathered, or scaly friends will be happy, safe, and well-loved while you're away! My wife and I recently made the move to Southern Pines from Florida and have been enjoying getting to know the community—especially its many pets! I believe good pet care starts with clear expectations, happy routines, and making sure every member of the household—furred, feathered, scaled, or leafy—feels safe and well looked after. I’m happy to offer pet sitting, house sitting, doggy daycare, and more. I have a large fenced backyard for safe playtime and live in a lovely, pet-friendly neighborhood, perfect for walks, adventures, or just soaking up some sun. Your furry, feathered, or scaly friends will be happy, safe, and well-loved while you’re away!

“Niki is amazing! This was her second time keeping my dog and first keeping our kitten. We were running late coming home from out of town, she worked with us and I greatly appreciated it!”

“Jessica was absolutely incredible with our two boys! We have two weenie dogs and by the looks of it they fit in perfectly at her house and with her other two pups! I will NEVER board or kennel my dogs again when out of town. To know they got the same love & attention from Jessica that they do at home made my heart so so happy! This was my first time using a site like rover and I highly recommend rover and Jessica for all your puppy sitting needs! ♥️”

About: I grew up on a family farm in Mamers, NC, where caring for animals has always been second nature. After moving back to the area from college, I now work from home, allowing me to provide attentive, personalized care and a flexible schedule for the pets I watch. Before leaving for college, I pet sat for local families through Facebook and built lasting relationships with many of my clients. For one family in particular, I provided in-home care and became their trusted “dog nanny” for over three years. From daily visits and walks to overnight stays and personalized routines, I understand how important consistency and trust are when caring for someone’s furry family member. I visit my family farm daily to help maintain the property, giving dogs in my care the opportunity for supervised outdoor time, exercise, and plenty of enrichment. Whether your pet enjoys adventures or prefers cuddles and quiet time, I’ll treat them with the same love and attention I give my own. 🤍🐾🌾 Pet care is seamlessly built into my daily routine. I work from home, which gives me the flexibility to provide frequent potty breaks, walks, playtime, and plenty of one-on-one attention throughout the day. I also visit my family farm daily, so dogs in my care can enjoy supervised outdoor time and extra exercise. Because I’m home most of the day, pets are rarely left alone and are treated like part of the family, with lots of love, structure, and companionship. Safety, trust, and a comfortable environment are my top priorities. I live in a pet-friendly condo community with access to a dog park, where I often take my own Doberman for supervised play and exercise. I enjoy starting the day with morning walks and make sure pets have plenty of opportunities for potty breaks, enrichment, and attention throughout the day. I follow each pet’s routine closely and always prioritize their safety, whether that means leashed walks, supervised outdoor time at my family farm, or a cozy, calm environment indoors. My goal is to make every pet feel loved, secure, and right at home while their family is away.
“Terri was wonderful. We met first at her home so Rowdy could meet her dog Luke and they hit it off right away. Terri is friendly and welcoming and I knew Rowdy would be well taken care of in her care. She sent us pictures and always replied to text or calls right away. She has a dog park in her neighborhood and what a wonderful plus that is! I would not hesitate to leave my pet with her again. This is so much better then boarding at a kennel where my dog sits alone in a kennel most of the day. 5 stars Terri!”

About: My name is Taylor, I was born and raised in Colorado so we love to go on walks and be outside. I personally own 2 dogs right now so I’ve been caring for them for a while. Raised them both since they were puppies. I can take your dog for walks, play with them, give them all the cuddles they need while you are away. I can also bathe them, I am certified to groom dogs and cats. I love being around animals and will care for yours like they are my own. You will be able to trust me with your pets. I promise to clean up after your pets on walks and keep your neighborhood clean. Taking care of your pets will be my pleasure. Thank you for considering me to care for your pets. I currently am a stay at home mom so I have plenty of time to care for animals and meet all their daily needs. They’ll be loved and appreciated. I have a fenced yard here at my own home, but I also know pets are more comfortable in their own space so I’m willing to watch them at my own home or yours.

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Jackson Springs home-away-from-home, packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Jackson Springs.
<b>Tip:</b> You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Jackson Springs sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in NC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
