“Mikayla was absolutely amazing with our fur babies! She kept our high energy dog well played with, and was great understanding our grumpy cat. She was active with the pets and sent us great videos and pictures. She communicated with us immediately and left our house better than when she came. We greatly appreciated her and would rebook her in the future.”

“Jillian is a gem!! She house sat and watched our doggos while we were in Costa Rica and provided us with consistent updates and compassionate care to Ella and Shady. She even celebrated Shady's 12th birthday when we couldn't be there to do so; complete with peanut butter and treats. Additionally, she helped my dog Ella who suffers from severe separation anxiety come out of her shell. It's evident that Jillian cares deeply for the animals she takes care of, not just her own and wants to make sure other pet parents can relax knowing they're in her care. If I could give her infinite stars I would. Book with her, your animals will thank you!! 💓”

“It was a pleasure to have Alyssa in our home. Her availability was exactly what we needed for our older dog and her communication with us was great! Our dog was well cared for and our home was clean when we arrived back home. Will definitely book her again for future trips!”

About: I know that trusting someone with your pets and your home is a big decision, and I don’t take that responsibility lightly. Whether I’m providing overnight care or drop-in visits, I make it a priority to be dependable, on time, and attentive to each pet’s individual needs. I enjoy spending quality time with animals, so I make sure they receive plenty of attention, playtime, affection, fresh food and water, potty breaks, and any medications or special care they need. I also keep pet parents updated with regular photos and messages, so they can have peace of mind while they’re away. My goal is to provide consistent, reliable care that keeps pets happy, comfortable, and following their normal routine in the comfort of their own home. I provide care in my client’s home so pets can stay comfortable and relaxed in the environment they know best. I believe pets feel happiest when they can keep their normal routine, surrounded by familiar sights, smells, and spaces. During each visit or overnight stay, I follow your instructions carefully for feeding, potty breaks, playtime, walks (if requested), medications, and any special needs your pet may have. I provide plenty of love, attention, and companionship while making sure your home is respected and kept secure. I know every pet has their own personality and comfort level, so I take the time to get to know what makes them happy—whether that’s extra cuddles, playtime, a quiet presence, or simply maintaining their usual schedule. “Jessica was so great with our ladies. She was very good at keeping me posted on how everyone was doing with photos and updates! Our house was just as we left it when we arrived back home, and pets seem very happy! Thank you Jessica! We’ll definitely be working with you again.”

“Justin is an excellent communicator & just an all-around great guy. He texted us regular updates including pictures of his activities with Dori. We will certainly have him back if he is available.”

“Alaina was wonderful! She stayed with our pack and watched our home over the weekend. She was communicative, kind, and clean. And our pups loved her! Thank you for giving us peace of mind while away. We would absolutely love to use your services in the future.”

About: I am a dog lover who loves to meet more pets! I have 2 Westies and we spend hours outside each day in the yard or walking at a park. I am here to help whether you are gone for just a few hours or for weeks at a time. I have no problem allowing the dogs to run free in our house, or stop by to check on your pet in your house. As a pet lover, I will care for your pet as I do mine, and they are spoiled! I am home almost all the time. I wander around our 3 acres and love to garden. I take my dogs for a walk almost daily. I am with the dogs almost all the time. If I have to go run an errand, I can crate them. They are allowed on the furniture with me.
“Cindy was a great sitter for our pup. Cindy followed all directions provided, was attentive to our dog and had really good communication while sitting. Our home was left in great condition also. I would absolutely book with her again.”

“Elyse kept our 2 dogs and 2 cats for two weeks. She did a fantastic job communicating with us while we were gone, sent pictures and left our house looking great. She even handled a last minute doggie injury with medication without any issues. I will gladly use her again.”

“Lillie stayed with my two dogs in our home for 10 days . She came over to meet them and again right before we left . Her communication prior to us leaving and while we were gone ,was awesome. She also accommodated big changes to our plans . The dogs did great and she sent pictures which made me happy ! This is my first experience with Rover and leaving someone I had just met with "my kids". Lillie did a great job. I would recommend her and will use her again .”

About: I’ve owned and have taken care of multiple animals throughout the years! From house animals to some animals. I love our furry friends! :) . I’m working a part-time job currently where I work every other weekend, I’ll be able to stop in throughout the day on the days I do and don’t work! I have 2 friendly dogs, 2 friendly cats, a rabbit and a rooster! I keep them all safe and healthy, and I have a great bond with them!
About: I've had dogs in my home all my life. I have experience caring for a variety of breeds and sizes. I love dogs and will care for each one with whatever is needed. I'm not afraid to try something new. I create stories and share them with others. Whether it's through my YouTube channel or publishing books, I enjoy stories. I may even read to my pets my stories or other stories just for fun! I have a fenced yard, and currently have two puppies (about 1 year) that are staying for now. We have a dog crate, so I can move them around as needed. We're hoping to get a puppy of our own again when these young ones move out. I do have vision and hearing issues, which can result in some trouble seeing or balance issues. I can handle big dogs, but smaller is naturally easier.
“Michelle is just amazing! She takes such great care of our boys and goes above and beyond every time. We trust her so much we won’t travel unless she’s available to watch Rocco and Henry!”

“We had a great experience with Eden taking care of our two dogs. One of our dogs can take a little bit to warm up to strangers and she took the time to make sure she felt comfortable. Based on their behavior when we came home, it was obvious they had a great time with her, they acted only mildly happy to see us. That's usually a sign that they were well cared for. Would definitely recommend Eden!”

About: I have 5 dogs of my own, ranging from a cattle dog to a pitbull.I have no problem taking care of any type of animal and I have experience in all fields of care, including bathing, walking, nail-trimming, and more. I’m free from 6am-11pm on weekdays! I do work full-time but my boss is lenient and he’d have no problem with me tending to your furry friends! I personally have 5 dogs in a non-fenced in yard but they are all very well trained. I would prefer to keep your animals in the comfort of their own home though due to my dogs being very playful, if your dogs are comfortable being in a high-energy setting it would be no problem but they don’t need added stress from my rowdy bunch.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Irving walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Irving maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Irving choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
