“this was our first time using rover and Jill was wonderful!! we have an older big dog that isn't a fan of kennels and this worked out perfectly. She house sat for a long holiday weekend and kept us updated the entire time! she put all of our worries at ease while gone and there was no better feeling then coming home to happy and stress free animals! We will definitely rebook with Jill again!!”

About: I have taken care of dogs in the family, friends, and even strangers. I have been caring for dogs all through out my life and would like to continue to help others with their fur babies. I have gone and done daily things like walk and take outside or I have even done boarding for 2 weeks at a time. I currently am working third shift and would love to spend the day time or weekends help caring for other people's fur babies! I am available until late afternoon till 9 pm for your drop in needs. I have off Friday and Saturday nights. I always pay the upmost attention when taking pups outside at their home. I will look after them and love them as if they were my own.
“Mikayla was absolutely amazing with our fur babies! She kept our high energy dog well played with, and was great understanding our grumpy cat. She was active with the pets and sent us great videos and pictures. She communicated with us immediately and left our house better than when she came. We greatly appreciated her and would rebook her in the future.”

“Sarah did a great job watching Lacy at my home over the weekend. She was an extremely responsive communicator and left my house like she hadn't even been here! Would certainly use her again and recommend her to anyone!”

About: I know dogs very well. I used to pet sit when I was young and still do. I’ve had many dogs a few cats and some fish. I am currently not working at a place with a schedule. She even took our pup to the obedience class, that she’s enrolled in, so she didn’t miss it! Couldn’t have asked for a easier experience for our first time booking a house sitter through Rover.”

About: I have 5 dogs of my own, ranging from a cattle dog to a pitbull.I have no problem taking care of any type of animal and I have experience in all fields of care, including bathing, walking, nail-trimming, and more. I’m free from 6am-11pm on weekdays! I do work full-time but my boss is lenient and he’d have no problem with me tending to your furry friends! I personally have 5 dogs in a non-fenced in yard but they are all very well trained. I would prefer to keep your animals in the comfort of their own home though due to my dogs being very playful, if your dogs are comfortable being in a high-energy setting it would be no problem but they don’t need added stress from my rowdy bunch.

About: As a young female I have cared for many family pets, so I’ve experienced every stage from puppies to seniors. I provide reliable, structured care whether it’s keeping dogs active with frequent neighborhood walks, taking a nap with them, or just coming to check up on your furbaby if that’s all you need! I currently work about 15 hours a week so I should have plenty of time to give your dog the care he or she needs! I don’t mind sitting during the day or night whatever would make you know your pet is safe. Whether in your home or mine, I like to maintain constant supervision and ensure all dogs will be okay. I use sturdy leashes for every walk and stay highly alert to our surroundings to avoid any high stress interactions with other animals or people for those sensitive dogs. I also like to make sure your animal eats and feel comfortable enough to make sure they get the proper nutrition.
About: I’ve been around dogs for most of my life and have owned several dogs with very different personalities and needs. From energetic Australian Shepherds who thrive on activity and mental stimulation to my calm and gentle Golden Retriever, I’ve gained valuable experience understanding how to care for dogs of all temperaments. I enjoy staying active and love spending time outdoors, whether that’s going for long walks, runs, or playing fetch at the park. At the same time, I understand that every dog is different, and I’m just as happy to spend quiet time relaxing, cuddling, and providing companionship for pets who prefer a slower pace. I take pride in being responsible, dependable, and respectful of both pets and their owners. My goal is to make sure every pet feels safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away, and to give owners peace of mind knowing their furry family member is in good hands. I would be thrilled to have the opportunity to meet your pet and provide them with the care, attention, and affection they deserve! 🐾❤️ I currently have a work schedule that is all over the place, I am free anytime after 3:30pm Monday-Thursday. When caring for pets in their own homes, I make it a priority to maintain their normal routine as closely as possible. I follow all instructions carefully, including feeding schedules, medication needs, exercise requirements, and any household rules. I understand that pets can feel more comfortable in their familiar environment, so I focus on providing plenty of attention, companionship, and reassurance while their owners are away. I also treat every home with respect, keeping it clean, secure, and exactly as I found it. During walks, your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I pay close attention to their energy level, behavior, and surroundings to ensure they have an enjoyable experience. Whether your dog prefers a brisk walk, a run, or a slower-paced stroll with lots of sniffing opportunities, I adapt to their individual needs. I always use safe handling practices, stay alert to potential hazards, and make sure your pet gets the exercise, enrichment, and attention they deserve. My goal is for every pet to return home happy, healthy, and tired from a fun outing!
“Gabby was able to handle stressful situations with my pets still getting used to their new house. She contacted me letting me know what was happening and how she managed the situation. Polite and professional. Thank you Gabby!”

About: Dog was probably the first word I ever spoke. I’ve been a dog lover since day 1 and created my own dog watching business at age 11. I have worked at a dog day care and have fostered dogs. I even helped birth golden retriever puppies in 2025! On the week days I work at a surgery center from 9am-3pm in Grand Rapids. I keep my weekends pretty open to accommodate customers. Anything you would do for your baby, I would love to do for you. I know how much my dog means to me and exactly how I would want him to be treated.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Orangeville walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Orangeville maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Orangeville choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Orangeville. On Rover:
- 98% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
