She went above and beyond by sending pictures of bath time. One day, my dog had given herself a little hot spot and Kat informed me right away and sent a picture of the wound. Of course, Kat knew how to treat the wound and it healed up in a few days. Kat is so wonderful and she really knows her stuff! Also, she left my house completely spotless!”

About: As a young female I have cared for many family pets, so I’ve experienced every stage from puppies to seniors. I provide reliable, structured care whether it’s keeping dogs active with frequent neighborhood walks, taking a nap with them, or just coming to check up on your furbaby if that’s all you need! I currently work about 15 hours a week so I should have plenty of time to give your dog the care he or she needs! I don’t mind sitting during the day or night whatever would make you know your pet is safe. Whether in your home or mine, I like to maintain constant supervision and ensure all dogs will be okay. I use sturdy leashes for every walk and stay highly alert to our surroundings to avoid any high stress interactions with other animals or people for those sensitive dogs. I also like to make sure your animal eats and feel comfortable enough to make sure they get the proper nutrition.

About: I have grown up with animals my whole life—from horses to guinea pigs and every animal in between—and I truly love them all. I know how special they are and how much they mean to us, and I would be honored to help give your sweet animals some of my love! I am all for the cuddles and the playful walks, and because I know it takes a lot of trust to share your pets, I promise to treat them as if they were my very own! While I work a day job that keeps me busy through the morning and early afternoon, I am fully open and dedicated to supporting your pets after 4:00 PM on weekdays, and completely available all day long on the weekends! Whether it's an afternoon walk, evening feeding, overnight care, or weekend fun, I'll make sure your furry family members get all the love, cuddles, and attention they need around my schedule. When caring for pets in your home, my priority is keeping them comfortable, safe, and happy in their own familiar environment. Whether I'm dropping by for a visit, taking them on a fun walk, or house sitting, I make sure their routine stays completely on track. Our fur babies passed in December and January, so we do not currently have any pets. I allow dogs on the furniture and in bed, but if that is not something that you do and you would like me not to do that I can respect that as well.

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I've been lucky to parent dogs, cats, and horses, including two retired racing Greyhounds and a tuxedo cat who made me a certified cat person. Beyond my own, I've been caring for pets professionally (i.e., beyond friends and family) for more than 15 years, and after taking some time away while completing my PhD and living abroad, I'm excited to be back doing something I've always loved. In 2011, I started walking pups professionally in Chicago as a side gig during my breaks from tour managing for a band, which quickly turned into my dog-walking clients asking me to stay in their home with their pets while they were away. Over the span of just a few years, I built relationships with more than 30 clients, with most of them turning into repeat (and repeat and repeat!) clients. I've cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, from tiny Yorkies to Great Danes and everything in between. I've also worked with many pets that required extra patience or specialized care. I've cared for senior pets, dogs < 1yo, a blind Australian Cattle Dog, a deaf cat, highly anxious and stranger-wary dogs, VERY stranger-wary cats, a Beagle with a seizure disorder, and pets receiving medication. I've also been the go-to sitter for a couple of families going through difficult times with their critters, including caring for their pets with terminal illnesses during their final days (both a black lab named Maggie and the sweetest deaf black cat named Sam) . Over the years, I've handled a few very unexpected situations as well. Whether it's a medical event requiring an unexpected trip to the veterinarian or even arriving to a cat drop-in visit to find that the apartment had experienced a break-in (in my Chicago days, which included working with police and gathering the terrified cats from the apartment stairwell), I've stayed calm, communicated clearly, and focused on keeping the critters safe and the clients informed. There have also been several occasions where I've extended my stay last-minute due to a client's canceled flight or interrupted travel plans. One of the biggest differences between my prior pet sitting days and now is my flexibility due to my remote work. When I pet sat extensively throughout Chicago, my tour managing days had ended and I worked a full-time 9-5 downtown. This was fine for my clients, as they had a similar schedule. But I now work fully remotely, so I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to spend much more time with your pets throughout the day than I could years ago. I essentially do my best to work around your pet's normal routine. I'm happy to accommodate early mornings, evenings, or midday visits whenever possible. My goal is to make life feel as normal and stress-free as possible for your pets while you're away. When I'm in your home, I treat it with the same respect I'd expect someone to show mine, as I've also hired pet sitters over the years for my own critters. I follow your instructions (the more the better!), keep you updated with photos (lots!) and messages, and make sure your pets receive the same routines, rules, and attention they're used to (e.g., their feeding schedules, medications, favorite walking routes, cuddle time, or simply keeping them company).

About: I have experience with just about every type of pet regardless of age. I have experience with kittens and puppies as well as rescues with high care needs as well as their medication schedules. I began pet sitting when I was very young and have always loved it. I have special experience with caring for dogs with trauma and special situations. It is my privilege to meet those needs. I am available every weekday before 8:45 and every weeknight after 5pm. On weekends I have full day availability on Saturday and Sunday. Currently I am a happy lover of my two dogs and cats at home and my cat Tonka Truck. I usually begin my day with feeding and letting them out and repeat that after shifts. Apart from the usual litter box changes and feeding, it’s necessary to give my older dog medication in the middle of the day. These routines fit well in my life. I care for pets with a high degree of input from clients. While I do have a lot of experience with pet care, it is ultimately your baby and you know your pet best. Any suggestions, rules, and schedules are my privilege to abide by. I cannot care for pets in my own home due to the trauma needs of my own pets, but I am very conscious of house preferences and pet needs in clients’ homes. I am flexible with play schedules and meal times and have become efficient at administering medication from experience with my own dogs. I am also able to meet any sanitation and safety preferences during this time.

I also make sure pets always have access to fresh water, a clean environment, and a safe space to rest. I take safety very seriously and monitor pets closely while they are in my care.
