“Kat was amazing! I have never left my pup alone and was scared to go away for the holidays, but I figured having a trusted person and company come to our house would be better than boarding him somewhere else.... and it was! She left our house perfectly clean and quickly replied everytime I wanted to see a picture or video of my baby! She even left a lil dog bone and thank you card. I couldnt be more pleased with my choice of Kat and Rover.com!!!! I will reccommend anyone in the East Nashville area to use Kat!”
“Michelle provided updates and services as requested. Came home to a non-distressed cat which is all I can hope for with my shy guy. Would book her again.”

“I cannot say enough great things about Emily. Shes so sweet and kind, the dogs love her and the cats! She is on time, communicates, sends pictures, updates, and asks questions if needed. She's the best! Thank you so so much Emily!!”

“Camrynn was great. She watched my 2 newfoundlands for 6 days while we were on vacation. She was very communicative, and sent lots of photos and updates. It was also so lovely coming home to the house looking the way we left it. Highly recommend- thank you Camrynn!”

“Alaina was wonderful! She stayed with our pack and watched our home over the weekend. She was communicative, kind, and clean. And our pups loved her! Thank you for giving us peace of mind while away. We would absolutely love to use your services in the future.”

“Ashton was such a blessing to our family. She cared for my 3 doggies and kitty while we were gone. She agreed to watch my fur babies with limited notice and went above and beyond to care for them. She sent me daily pictures, took the doggies for walks, gave them love and stayed later than originally planned to feed them and check on them. Highly recommend. We would definitely use her again.”

“Nadia was a joy to work with. Very professional. She kept us informed on the days events. Sent pics & videos of her interaction with our kitty's! Put my mind at ease, since I've never left my 2 year old cats alone. Plus she maintained security of my shop & belongings. I would highly recommend Nadia. We will always request her. If your looking for someone that is on top of their game + trustworthy, its Nadia”

“Jillian was very prompt in communication and our dog, Finley, loved her. She was very easy to work with and sent us photos and videos each day so we didn't have to worry about him. Finley seems much more calm that he was able to stay home and not go to the Kennel. I highly recommend her.”

About: I’ve taken care of dogs and cats my entire life and I house-sit/dog-sit as a part-time job, as well as work at two stables. I grew up with the responsibility of taking care of my own pets, so I enjoy taking care of other people’s animals! I pet sit for another company and for clients I know personally, so my schedule is updated as accurately as possible on my page- most weeks I’ll be available Mon/Tues/Thurs/Sat/Sun. I could possibly help with pets on Wednesdays and Fridays, but those are my scheduled work days. When my semester starts in September, I’ll be occupied Tues/Thurs. When I am chosen for whatever service you might need, I’ll be able to feed, let your dogs out, walk them/play with them, spend time with your cats, etc.! I’d like to know a day or two in advance, but I could possibly accept a same day booking. I take care of every animal like they’re my own; I’ve taken many dogs off the streets to find their owners. This is no different, your animal will be treated with respect and love while you’re away! I won’t be taking care of animals at my house (due to my own pets), but I would possibly be willing to do overnight stays at the client’s house if it’s a good fit.
“Dwayne wasn’t a stranger after long. I only ever left my labs with friends, family or the trainer. After moving across the country I needed to find the new family friend for my fur monsters. Dwayne asked great questions got comfortable and took amazing day and overnight care of my dogs. Super communicative and kept me updated while I was out of town. Happy to have found him for my doggy support.”

“10/10 no notes for Sunnie. Dogs are happy and house is immaculate. Sunnie communicates everything that’s going on with the dogs—good and bad. She’s totally transparent which I really appreciate! Already booked her for my next trip! Thank you Sunnie!!”

“Karen did a wonderful job sitting for our geriatric greyhound in our home! Very reliable and put our minds at ease with regular updates and pictures. Would highly recommend!”

“Sarah did a great job watching Lacy at my home over the weekend. She was an extremely responsive communicator and left my house like she hadn't even been here! Would certainly use her again and recommend her to anyone!”

About: I’ve had dogs my whole life, my dogs are my babies and I would treat yours the same. Fully fenced in yard to play fetch in and run around I’m currently a stay at home dog dad so they will never be left alone, always ready to take outside and let play with toys. I let my dogs out every couple of hours, always have food available for them and take them outside to play fetch whenever the weather permits
“Kiera was absolutely amazing. This was our first time using a Rover and first time having someone outside of family stay in our house while we were away. I simply could not be happier with how EVERYTHING played out. She was extremely attentive to Sammy and sent us daily updates with pictures. At one point, Sammy had some tummy troubles and Kiera went above and beyond to help Sammy feel better and ensure everything was cleaned up. When we arrived home, the house was in perfect condition, tidied up, with really no trace of Kiera ever being there, other than a happy Sammy when we came home. She is wonderful. 10 out of 10.”

About: Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years, I've been lucky to parent dogs, cats, and horses, including two retired racing Greyhounds and a tuxedo cat who made me a certified cat person. Beyond my own, I've been caring for pets professionally (i.e., beyond friends and family) for more than 15 years, and after taking some time away while completing my PhD and living abroad, I'm excited to be back doing something I've always loved. In 2011, I started walking pups professionally in Chicago as a side gig during my breaks from tour managing for a band, which quickly turned into my dog-walking clients asking me to stay in their home with their pets while they were away. Over the span of just a few years, I built relationships with more than 30 clients, with most of them turning into repeat (and repeat and repeat!) clients. I've cared for dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, and temperaments, from tiny Yorkies to Great Danes and everything in between. I've also worked with many pets that required extra patience or specialized care. I've cared for senior pets, dogs < 1yo, a blind Australian Cattle Dog, a deaf cat, highly anxious and stranger-wary dogs, VERY stranger-wary cats, a Beagle with a seizure disorder, and pets receiving medication. I've also been the go-to sitter for a couple of families going through difficult times with their critters, including caring for their pets with terminal illnesses during their final days (both a black lab named Maggie and the sweetest deaf black cat named Sam) . Over the years, I've handled a few very unexpected situations as well. Whether it's a medical event requiring an unexpected trip to the veterinarian or even arriving to a cat drop-in visit to find that the apartment had experienced a break-in (in my Chicago days, which included working with police and gathering the terrified cats from the apartment stairwell), I've stayed calm, communicated clearly, and focused on keeping the critters safe and the clients informed. There have also been several occasions where I've extended my stay last-minute due to a client's canceled flight or interrupted travel plans. One of the biggest differences between my prior pet sitting days and now is my flexibility due to my remote work. When I pet sat extensively throughout Chicago, my tour managing days had ended and I worked a full-time 9-5 downtown. This was fine for my clients, as they had a similar schedule. But I now work fully remotely, so I have a highly flexible schedule that allows me to spend much more time with your pets throughout the day than I could years ago. I essentially do my best to work around your pet's normal routine. I'm happy to accommodate early mornings, evenings, or midday visits whenever possible. My goal is to make life feel as normal and stress-free as possible for your pets while you're away. When I'm in your home, I treat it with the same respect I'd expect someone to show mine, as I've also hired pet sitters over the years for my own critters. I follow your instructions (the more the better!), keep you updated with photos (lots!) and messages, and make sure your pets receive the same routines, rules, and attention they're used to (e.g., their feeding schedules, medications, favorite walking routes, cuddle time, or simply keeping them company).

Frequently asked questions about Rover
As of August 2026, there are 345 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Augusta. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Augusta walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Augusta maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Augusta choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Augusta. On Rover:
- 100% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 100% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
