“Avery was great! She was very quick to respond when we checked in and kept us informed of everything that was going on with Luna. We will definitely book her again in the future!”

About: As you read through my current 5 star reviews they are all from years ago when I was a homeowner in Washington State. My son and I now live here and still want to spend time caring for animals. Currently we have one pet of our own, Bob, who is a cat. We love caring for many animals, but our busy schedule makes it impossible to be dog owners at this time. Caring for others pets they love is fulfilling, fun, and great for my son to experience as he loves animals very much. I have both owned, rescued, and cared for pets and animals of all kinds my entire life. I'm comfortable caring for pets of all ages and with administering medication when needed, as well. Very well as I only open my schedule during times that work for me. I am mindful of others pets as if they were my own. I am not currently offering in home services (at my home). I can come to your home and watch your pet babies. How I do that is dictated by the owner. Your pet being comfortable in their own home while you're away means consistency in what they are used to.
“Dwayne wasn’t a stranger after long. I only ever left my labs with friends, family or the trainer. After moving across the country I needed to find the new family friend for my fur monsters. Dwayne asked great questions got comfortable and took amazing day and overnight care of my dogs. Super communicative and kept me updated while I was out of town. Happy to have found him for my doggy support.”

“Jamie was great and very easy to work with. She was on time and clearly got along with Zelda and was communicative throughout the booking process and during the day where she dog-sat. Zelda was in a good mood when I got home and clearly enjoyed the company.”

“Rod was fantastic. We felt so comfortable with him and knew that Sandy was in the best hands possible! He sent lots of updates and pictures and had great communication. Our house was in better shape than what we left it and Sandy was a relaxed, happy dog when we got home. We highly recommend Rod and will most certainly be using him again in the future!”

“Cera made this first time Rover user at ease. She scheduled a meet up with me and worked with my schedule. She also sent pictures during her stay which was very appreciated. Will book again!”

“Sarah is an AWESOME listener! I talked for an hour straight to tell her every detail about how to care for our three dogs. And how to properly close our tight fitting doors And other minutia. She left her house in perfect condition. The dogs hardly seem to notice I was gone. Which never happens. Good on ya Sarah!”
About: I’ve been around dogs my entire life! Experienced all ages and kinds. I’m also experienced in cat care as well as kittens. I’ve raised livestock since age 10! I relish human connections, but I have a deep passion for connecting with animals. I am highly adaptable when it comes to caring for your furry companion. I have a cat who needs his own space. I live in a large house with multiple levels and rooms, and I’m more than willing to make adjustments to accommodate him. My cat takes medication daily, and I’m knowledgeable about animal behavior.
About: I've had dogs for as long as I can remember. My dad used to help help run a rescue for several years, and we had many dogs of varying breeds and ages in our home. I currently have one dog named Alvin who was born in 2022. He is a yellow lab with a lot of energy! I am venturing into the working world, and this is my only role. My availability is wide open and I'm willing to help when needed! I have a small fenced in area under our deck where my dog relieves himself. I go for walks and there is a dog park very close to the house. My dog has extreme crate anxiety, so he isn't created. I am comfortable helping to ensure your pet is created as necessary.

Abbigail watched my puppy and adult Newfoundlands for 4 days while I was out of town. The dogs seemed happy and content when I got home, the house looked just the way it did when I left it, and Abby communicated and sent pictures throughout the weekend. Overall please with her services and will continue to use her in the future. :)

We are so excited to have found Cera. Cera did an amazing job with our Chester. She sent photos every day. Her communication was great. We felt very comfortable with Cera staying in our home. She took great care not only taking care of our kitty, but we came home to a very well cared for home. I will definitely be using Cera again. I would highly recommend Cera to care for your pet and home. Brenda C

Arika is a professional and wonderful pet sitter. I have a senior dog with several health issues and a cat with a cat personality, and Arika took excellent care of both of them while I was out of town. She sent me plenty of photos and updates and left my apartment very clean. Most importantly, my pets were in caring and very capable hands. I am thankful to have found Arika for pet sitting needs.
Arianna was fantastic! She was so kind and easy to communicate with both before and during her stay. She made sure to take the time to get to know both of my dogs and happily put up with their eccentricities. We were so grateful to receive so many pictures and updates during our trip. We would definitely book with Arianna again and recommend her to others!

Alisha was a fantastic cat sitter/house sitter while I was away! She was very communicative about my two shy cats and made sure that they were well taken care of while also giving them their distance and letting them warm up to her. She is so kind and personable, as well. I’ll absolutely try to book with Alisha again in the future!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Comstock Northwest walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Comstock Northwest maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Comstock Northwest choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
