“Shannon was very sweet with Bear. She sent me a picture while I was away. She also took him on short notice which was a blessing! I recommend Shannon to anyone looking to board their fur baby.”

“Kashawna was kind, responsive, loving, and exactly what my four legged kid needed! Our baby is high maintenance with insulin twice a day, pain meds once a day, and snuggles all day. Kashawna and her family loved on her and took great care of her while I was on vacation. 10/10 recommend!”

“Mary Ellen took excellent care of Ollie, and he had fun with her pup, Ellie. Her enclosed yard space is perfect for pups and we felt very safe leaving him there. We will be back, for sure!”

“Ben was great to give us updates on our dog Yuki as she stayed with him and his family over a weekend. She was well taken care of and it was great to have some peace of mind knowing Yuki was in good hands. I would certainly recommend Ben for anyone needing to have someone look after their pet!”

“Julia went above and beyond for us after we had two others cancel. She listened to our needs and worries since it was our first time leaving our baby. She left constant updates and sent videos on how his days were going. Our baby was happy and well taken care of. Thank you Julia!!”

“Mishael and her family were amazing caretakers of our little guy - a chihuahua mix. I was nervous to board him because it was NYE and we were visiting from out of town however she matched the glowing reviews from other clients and quickly put us at ease. I forgot his food of all things and she dipped into her supply. When he cried at night they allowed him to sleep with a family member. They made it look easy with kids and dogs!! I’m so grateful we found them. Thank you!!”

“This is my second time leaving my dog with Jen and our next stay is already booked! She sent lots of pictures and I could tell my dog was super happy and he gave her kisses when we left. I feel great peace of mind leaving my dog with Jen!”

“Bingo had another great experience with Charlene. She is kind and reliable. Her house is definitely a hub for pup activity as she hosts multiple dogs at once. This is perfect for social dogs who enjoy canine and human company alike. She took good care of Bingo and we're grateful for her help.”

“Angela and her family took very good care of our two dogs! We are very pleased and appreciate the special kindness paid to our new, shy dog, who is often skittish around new people. We hope to rebook with Angela R.”

“Lauren was such an amazing sitter. I’ve used her twice now, but this time around I had horrible flight delays and she was so kind and understanding. I highly recommend, she always takes great care of my pup!”

“Mary is so attentive and cares for my dog Cooper so well. She was concerned about some symptoms he was having and shared them in a text and video. We consulted with each other and my 16 yo pup was just fine. I appreciate her concern and care very much. I will be booking with Mary again.”

About: I’ve been caring for pets—especially cats and dogs—since I was a teenager, and animals have always held a special place in my heart. In fact, I somehow figured out how to win over the neighborhood dogs when I was younger, and before long, they were stopping by my house every day to visit! My core values are simple: loving your pets unconditionally, loving their people, and building relationships based on honesty and trust—with pets and humans alike. I know how important it is to feel confident that your pet is in good hands, and I treat that responsibility with the same care and attention I would want for my own animals. I work from home and take several breaks during the day to do walkies or give cuddles and pets. I'll adjust to your pet's needs and your requests. I have a partially fenced backyard where dogs can enjoy some supervised outdoor time, but I prefer taking my furry guests on walks for exercise, fresh air, and a chance to explore the neighborhood. Whether your pets need overnight companionship or just a little care and attention during the day, I can stay in your home or make scheduled visits based on what works best for you and your pets.
“My girls had a BLAST with Lindsay & her family! I was almost afraid of them not wanting to come home lol! She kept me updated throughout the day on how they were doing and the activities they did with them, which was very nice! Im so happy that i booked with her and will definitely be booking with her in the future !”

“We were very apprehensive about leaving Loyalty with a stranger. Carrington completely understood our concerns and was very diligent in ensuring that we stayed connected to him during his stay. We received multiple texts and pictures throughout each day.”

“We had a wonderful experience with Chelsea and Fernando! They were incredibly caring, reliable, and conscientious about keeping our dog on her normal routine. They paid close attention to her feeding schedule, walks, and daily habits, helping her feel comfortable and at home while we were away. Communication was also excellent. We received regular updates and photos, and they were always quick to respond to any questions or messages. It was clear that they genuinely cared about our dog and wanted to make sure she was happy and well cared for. We would absolutely recommend them and will definitely use them again!”

“Andrea kindly agreed to board my senior Chihuahua mix on very short notice when I had a sudden dogsitting need arise! She was incredibly warm and professional, and I felt very comfortable leaving Hamlet with her. She texted me pictures and updates during his stay, and when I picked him up, he seemed very relaxed and happy. I would definitely book with Andrea again!”

Frequently asked questions about Rover
Rover is the largest marketplace for local pet care. Whether you're looking for pet sitters, dog walkers, or house sitters who specialize in pet sitting, you can narrow your search by entering your ZIP code to find sitters within walking distance in your neighborhood.
Every sitter on Rover has their own routine. Depending on the arrangements you agree on before the stay, a sitter can follow your dog’s regular feeding schedule, provide a comfortable place to sleep, offer companionship, and support their usual exercise and play needs.
Depending on the sitter, their home environment, and your dog’s needs, daily exercise may include walks, outdoor play, indoor enrichment activities, or supervised play with compatible dogs. These activities are not automatically included with every booking, so ask the sitter what a typical day looks like.
During the Meet & Greet, discuss your dog’s usual exercise and play routine, whether they can safely interact with other dogs, and any activities or restrictions the sitter should follow. You can also ask the sitter to send photo and message updates during the stay so you can see how your dog is spending their time.
Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Inman home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:
- Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
- Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.
- Special instructions such as a list of training cues, medical administration needs, or favorite hang-out spots in your Inman.
Tip: You can upload your dog’s routine and medical info directly onto their profile so your sitter always has the details at their fingertips.
You and your Inman sitter can schedule drop-off and pick-up in a way that works best for the both of you—and your dog. Most sitters offer flexible times for drop-off and pick-up but the easiest way to confirm those times will be through in-app messaging. Confirm your arrival time the day of pick-up and drop-off can also help keep the process smooth and organized.
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page.
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in SC ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
