Not only have I managed a family home with both cats and dogs, but I also showed one of my dogs for AKC confirmation and graduated with another one of my dogs from obedience classes. I bottle fed two of my cats when they were infants and have cared for both cats and dogs into their senior, twilight years. I even cared for one of my senior dogs after she became deaf and blind. Just recently I helped usher my beloved 15-year-old cat across the rainbow. She was the last of my own pets. I have experience with dispensing oral medications and insulin shots to cats and dogs from very young pets as well as aging ones. About: Hi there! I’m a full-time professional based in Des Moines with a big heart for animals—especially dogs. I share my life with a lovable poodle who’s full of energy and joy. We spend a lot of time going on walks and playing fetch, so I understand the importance of keeping dogs active, happy, and loved. About: We lost our beloved dog "Chester" in 2022 and our home has felt empty ever since. Both my husband & I have grown up with dogs & we loved playing, walking and cuddling w/Chester. The unconditional love he provided to our family was priceless. My husband & I are empty nesters as of last fall, 2023 & we are available to care and watch your dog on a weekday or weekend.. Your dog will be loved in our home as much as it is in your home. We will thoroughly enjoy spoiling it like it is our own pet! We live downtown Des Moines & will be able to walk your dog regularly to near by parks/Grays Lake. I like to know what the sleep/feeding schedule of your dog is, as well as any tricks they know, the time between bathroom breaks, and how the interact with other dogs.

About: Caring for people and pets comes naturally to me. I worked in nursing for several years before leaving to care for my father full time.between that and being a mom giving love and care comes easy. I have 3 dogs of my own, all of which are friendly and love a bit of play time. I am a big believer in fresh air and exercise. Let's get those steps in for your 4 legged family member. I don't work a regular job, I care for my elderly father and do some side work here and there. So I am available for walking or drop in visits at a moments notice. I have a fenced in yard and food and treats at the ready. Many leashes and brushes and more. I have 3 dogs of my own that love to play with each other and yours too. I can also keep my dogs away if yours isn't socialized to others.

She took cues from our dog on how far she could walk at each visit depending on the weather and then spent time cuddling our Boston Terrier too (which is just as important for our dog as exercise). About: I’ve taken care of cats, dogs, gerbils, hamsters and fish for over 15 years. I graduated from Iowa State with a degree in Animal Ecology. I did an internship there in a genetics lab where I helped care for and administer medications to dogs and cats. I’ve also worked at various veterinary clinics as both a vet technician and a receptionist. I also volunteered at several animal shelters. For house sitting, I’ll spend several hours in the morning and again in the evening with your pet. Timing is flexible based on your pet’s routine, and I’m always happy to discuss what works best. Please not I am unable to stay overnight. For cats, visit lengths depend on their comfort level. If they’re shy or easily stressed, I may keep visits shorter to help them feel safe. Every pet is different, and I do my best to adjust to their individual needs. I follow directions given to me because I know pet parents know what’s best for their fur babies! In your home I can water plants, clean litter boxes, and other small house hold chores.

About: I have watched multiple dogs and cats for friends, family, and coworkers. I love being around pets and making sure they are taken care of to the best of my ability! I’m a collage student so I have lots of availability in between classes and at night. Besides homework and occasional work my weekends are also open most of the time. I have both stayed at clients homes along with just running over to let the dogs out and to play for a little bit. So when staying in a home I often times let the dog out right away in the morning, around lunch time, in the late afternoon, and right before bed unless specified otherwise. I’m comfortable with pets sleeping in the same bed and room as me.

About: I love caring for animals, and I don’t take the responsibility lightly at all. I know it can be stressful to leave your pets in someone else’s care, and I’ll do everything I can to make you and your pets as comfortable as possible! I work remotely as a graphic designer Tuesday-Friday 8am-6:30pm. I can work from your home if needed, or of course I can drop in at specified times, or care for your pets in my home. I have a cat, so I would keep him separate from your animals if they stay in my home. I would make sure they had plenty of space and comfort items to make them feel safe. I would do the same if I was caring for pets in your home, and make sure to keep up their routine as best as I can.
