Roisin was an absolutely amazing with our dog, Estes. We don’t live in the area but was visiting family in her hometown area. She came to my parents’ place and stayed with our dog for a few hours while we attended a memorial service. She came the night before to do an “ meet and greet,” and it was apparent right away she knew how to handle our sensitive dog. She communicated right away and sent pictures so we could be at ease and enjoy the service. We would book again with her in a heartbeat. Thank you so very much!!!!

We booked Pam to stay with our dog while we went out of state for my stepdaughter's wedding after another sitter had to change plans due to surgery. Pam was wonderful! Raider is a weirdo and will refuse to warm up to sitters. Pam kept in constant communication letting me know how things were going and asking how she might get him to warm up. He often does not eat for my spouse and me so I wasn't surprised that he was not eating for her. Pam cooked bits of steak to put on his food twice (and offered to go buy one but we happened to have steak in the freezer) - which got him to eat after two days of refusing. Pam is very kind and really cares about the pets she sits. She also left our house spotless. It was especially wonderful to come home to clean sheets! I am very grateful Pam took such good care of Raider so we could enjoy the wedding festivities!

Jordan followed every instruction to the T. She was very polite, professional, responsive and communicative in the months of planning leading up to our big trip. The only mishaps while we were away were handled adeptly without stress or drama and Jordan even made one more visit to care for everyone when our return flight came in later than planned. We arrived home (from being thousands of miles away for a week of almost no cell service) to find our +20 member fur family happy, well fed and not at all worse for the wear. The house was just as we had left it. We truly look forward our next opportunity to book Jordan. Mahalo nui Jordan- you made a once-in-a-lifetime family reunion happen. We are so grateful we had your care here at home so we could be away to make these priceless memories!

About: I’ve been dog sitting for family, friends, and neighbors since i was 12. Ive had experience with puppies as well as older dogs that need more help with things daily. I will always play or run around with dogs if i’m not petting them. I am currently working a part time job which leaves Thursday’s to Sunday’s open! Starting mid September I will be going to a school to get my CDL license, this will take up Monday-Friday mid day, but weekends and afternoons I will be available! I’ve learned how to deal with crating dogs if needed, as well as worrying about a dog jumping on me or barking. If an older dog ever needs any assistance and requires me to pick them up for help with stairs or a porch I’m willing to do so.

Jennifer stayed with our Lab mix Hazel for the last week and we were so happy with how things went! Hazel got lots of walks, play time, snuggles and love! She stayed in touch with us several times a day and sent pictures?. Not only did Jennifer take wonderful care of Hazel, but also took care of the mail, garbage, and pet hair - it all made our trip that much more enjoyable! We can’t wait for Jennifer to come back for our next trip!

Margaret was fantastic with my pup! We had a meeting set up to introduce her to my pup and he loved her. I received daily pictures and updates on how he was doing, and I couldn't be happier. Would recommend! Margaret was fantastic with my pup! We had a meet and greet beforehand so she could get to know him, and he loved her right away. While I was away, I received daily pictures and updates on how he was doing, which gave me a lot of peace of mind. She was also incredibly understanding and flexible when I experienced flight delays on my way home, which I really appreciated. I couldn’t be happier with the care she provided and would absolutely recommend Margaret to anyone looking for a reliable and caring pet sitter!

About: I’m a veterinary professional with hands-on experience caring for dogs, cats, and other pets, so I’m comfortable with pets of all personalities and needs. I have experience giving medications, monitoring pets closely, recognizing changes in behavior or health, and handling nervous or high-energy animals. I’m also big on keeping pets comfortable, sticking to their normal routines, and giving them plenty of attention, playtime, and love. Your pet will get the same level of care and attention I’d want for my own. Pet care is a big part of my everyday routine. I have a flexible schedule, which allows me to give pets plenty of attention throughout the day rather than just stopping by for a quick visit. I’m used to building my day around feeding schedules, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medications, and plenty of cuddles. I’m also comfortable following each pet’s individual routine and making sure they feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while their family is away. I treat every pet like they’re my own and always follow their normal routine as closely as possible. In a client’s home, I keep their space clean, follow feeding and medication instructions, provide walks, potty breaks, playtime and plenty of attention, and send regular updates so you know how they’re doing. I’m also a veterinary professional, so I’m comfortable recognizing changes in behavior or health and handling pets with different needs. My goal is for your pet to feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away.

About: Ive taken care of dogs since I was a child, I grew up around them. I always make sure they're fed and have enough water throughout the day, walking them, playing with them and overall spending time with them. I love all animals and just want them to feel happy in my care. I’m currently enrolled at UIC, and my first semester has a lighter class schedule, which gives me plenty of time to provide pet care. I’m available on weekends and Friday afternoons, with some additional weekday afternoon availability depending on my class schedule. I’m flexible and will work with you to find a time that works best for you and your pet. I want every pet to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while they’re with me. I follow each pet’s normal routine, including feeding schedules, walks, playtime, medications if needed, and any special instructions from their owner. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I treat their home with the same respect I would my own and make sure their pets receive plenty of attention, supervision, and care.

FAQs for House Sitting - Ingalls Park

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Ingalls Park on Rover is $33.3 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 2,396 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Ingalls Park. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Ingalls Park walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Ingalls Park maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Ingalls Park choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ingalls Park. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 94% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
