Maisie has stayed with Paula and her family for four separate days over the last 10 days and they have taken such good care of her. I am really happy to have found them. It is a lovely warm, relaxed atmosphere in the house. Maisie loves going there and is always exhausted when I am picking her up after her busy day - Paula walks her in the Castle Park and she is kept entertained in the house with Paula and her family. Paula is also mindful of and helpful in working on Maisie’s puppy behaviors like chewing and picking up rubbish!!! It is great to have found such a nice family to look after Maisie and I hope that they will mind Maisie regularly🐾🐾🐾

About: I offer loving, home-from-home care where dogs are welcomed as part of the family. I take time to understand each dog’s routine, personality, and needs, ensuring they feel safe, relaxed, and truly cared for. I share my home with my husband and our gentle 8yr old cockapoo, and together we make visiting dogs feel comfortable, settled, and very loved. There are no children in the house. Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I work from home during the day, so dogs are never left alone for long and get consistent attention, company, and regular breaks. My evenings are free, which allows for relaxed walks, playtime, feeding routines, and plenty of cuddles. This means dogs are cared for throughout the day in a calm, unhurried environment that feels just like home. I provide a calm, secure home environment where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I have a fully fenced back garden in a quiet estate, giving dogs safe outdoor access for play and fresh air. Inside, dogs are free to roam the house just as they would in their own home, with cosy spaces to rest and relax. Walks take place in nearby dog-friendly areas such as Duckett’s Grove and Oak Park, which offer safe, enjoyable surroundings. Your dog’s safety, comfort, and wellbeing are always my top priority.

About: I am an animal lover. I've always had dogs. I have two dogs Bobby and Marley. I am a fantastic dog walker. I bring Bobby and Marley for walks everyday. It is the highlight of my day seeing how happy they are out on their walk. I have been minding dogs in Australia for the past two years, now that I'm home I would love to continue doing so. I enjoy looking after animals. I am very caring. When I am minding dogs I always make it as enjoyable and fulfilling for them as possible, I would never leave them alone. When minding them, they are getting constant attention off me. I've always had dogs growing up I know what's involved in looking after them. I also had two rabbits before as well (Sonny and Buttons). I got Buttons as a present and then I got Sonny to keep Buttons company, this really improved Buttons quality of life which was so lovely to see. Your pet is in safe hands with me. I am super flexible. I am just home from Australia so I am currently unemployed. I am super flexible. I have been minding and walking dogs for the past two years in Australia. I have a fenced yard with a back garden. I have two dogs who get on great with other dogs. I have a car to travel.

About: I have owned 2 dogs myself a King Charles and a border collie. My collie was a rescue who was very nervous and anxious so I am great with nervous dogs. I also help with my dad’s large golden retriever who is a senior dog, and I love being around any dog big or small no matter what breed. I am currently unemployed and available 7 days a week for day time dog sitting or nights in the owners property. I am available daily for dog walking also. I have a fenced and gated back garden that is spacious for dogs to run around and play, and a big field where all the neighbourhood dogs are walked and play together. I live close to the nature park and many nature trails. I am good with nervous dogs and dogs of all breeds as I have taken care of staffs, golden retriever, labs, rotties, westies and the list goes on. Your pet will have a playmate also

About: What sets me apart is how personal I make the care. I don’t just look after pets — I take the time to really understand them and treat them like family. I’ve fostered and raised three puppies at the same time from a young age, so I know how to handle different personalities, keep them happy and safe, and help them learn the basics with patience (and plenty of treats!). I’ve also cared for senior dogs and even a blind dog, where it’s all about being gentle, calm, and consistent so they feel safe and secure. On the other end, I’ve worked with cats rescued from hoarding situations — some were extremely nervous and shut down at first. It took time, trust-building, and lots of patience to help them feel safe enough to come out of their shells. It’s one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. Every animal is different, so I always tailor my care to suit their needs — whether that’s sticking to routines, reinforcing training, giving space and reassurance, or just spending time with them in a way they enjoy. I genuinely love what I do, and I think pets can feel that. Pet care fits into my daily and weekly routine really naturally — it’s something I love and build my days around. As a student, I have a flexible schedule, especially during the summer when I’m fully available. Even during the academic year, I have three full days off and my classes usually run between 9am and 2pm, so I still have plenty of time to give pets the attention they deserve. I structure my days to include at least three meaningful sessions with the animals I’m caring for. For dogs, that usually means three solid walks — often around an hour each — spaced throughout the day to give them exercise, stimulation, and structure. With cats, I’ll spend time on interactive play like hunting-style games for 20 minutes or so, spread across the day, plus plenty of cuddles and enrichment. I also love working on training and usually fit in short sessions before feeding times, which helps with focus and reinforces positive behaviour. Caring for animals isn’t something I squeeze into my schedule — it is the schedule. I’m committed to giving every pet in my care the time, energy, and attention they need to feel happy, safe, and loved. Whether I’m looking after your pet in your home or mine, I do everything I can to make them feel safe, comfortable, and truly cared for. When pets stay **in my home**, I give them their own space — usually a crate or cosy corner with their blankets and toys — that they can treat as their personal room. It’s a quiet, comfy area they can retreat to anytime they want to rest or take a break, but it’s never forced. I make sure their day is full of enrichment, play, affection, and rest, all balanced to suit their personality and energy level. When we head out for **walks**, safety comes first. I avoid unnecessary contact with other dogs and always bring plenty of fresh water to keep them hydrated, especially in warmer weather. I tailor the length and pace of the walk to your dog’s age, breed, and needs. In **your home**, I aim to keep their routine as consistent as possible — from feeding schedules and walking times to their favourite toys and nap spots. I leave everything just as I found it, and most importantly, your pet feels secure in their own environment. To give you peace of mind, I send regular daily updates with pictures, little notes about our day or concerns to keep you in the loop and give you a piece of mind

Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your working day. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalised environment for your pup.

A typical day can include companionship, one-to-one attention, and same-day collection and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.

Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:

  • For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose 'can host' section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
  • For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socialising needs.
  • For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters 'Doesn't own a dog' and 'Only accepts one pet at a time' to find the right care.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit our Trust & Safety page .

Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they 'Accept multiple clients' or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!

Many sitters on Rover can help with collection and drop-off! You can find the cost of collection and drop-off in their profile under 'See additional rates'.

If you found a day care close to your home in Kilkenny, you can also explore dog walking as an add-on service, which allows your sitter to collect or drop off your dog from their home to yours. Add your location to the search field to find sitters near you and message them directly about transport alternatives.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cut-off time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will apply. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
