Barbra was fabulous. I really enjoyed the cute pictures she took of my girl daily. And she was flexible enough to extend her visits an extra day when my flight home was canceled. Really a life saver! Thank you!

About: Loving, caring, and genuinely make all dogs feel like they are my own! Dogs are like family, I take pride in making sure that they will always be excited to see me. Training experience in the past. Love taking pictures, so you would always be updated as much as you’d like! I’ve decided to take time off work to be with my son, but absolutely love walking around the town! I genuinely enjoy taking care of dogs whether it’s walking them, letting them out, or visiting them just so they aren’t alone! I wanted to do something that thoroughly love and enjoy even if it’s rain or shine. Pets deserve to be inside, not outside unless it’s for the toilet, playing, and releasing energy! The furniture is part of the home, it’s ok for them to sit on it as well. Treats are given (if it’s allowed by the owner of course) play time is a necessity, and dogs who are great with little ones!

About: I recently moved to Kilkenny to improve my English, but don't worry—I speak 'Dog' perfectly! 🐶 My background is in Interior Design and working at The Disney Store, which means two things for you: I am extremely detail-oriented and I have very high standards of responsibility. I am an active person who loves long walks in nature. I don't just "watch" pets; I engage with them. Whether your dog needs a 5km run or just a gentle stroll and a belly rub, I adapt to their energy. I am comfortable with dogs of all sizes and I am happy to follow strict instructions regarding diet or medication. I currently have full availability 7 days a week, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends. Since I am not tied to a 9-to-5 office job right now, I can offer your pet my undivided attention. I never rush walks and I can be flexible if your plans change last minute. Your pet becomes my priority for the day. Your home is safe with me. As a professional Interior Designer, I have a deep respect for people's homes and spaces. I guarantee to leave your house exactly as I found it—clean, tidy, and secure. Safety First: I always keep dogs on a leash unless we are in a secure, fenced area. I will send you daily photo updates and GPS maps of our walks so you have total peace of mind knowing your furry friend is happy and safe.

About: Not too keen on kennels? I offer a home from home environment in Callan, Co.Kilkenny, for your beloved dog to relax in the comfort of my home.

I live in a detached house 15 minutes outside Kilkenny City with Oscar who’s a 16yr old Coton de Tulear. A few years ago we looked after a neighbours dog, my dogs enjoyed the company so we decided to make it a regular occurrence so here we are!! I work from home (Mon-Fri) so my mornings and evenings are free, I've decided to only offer dog boarding as that's what suits us best. It's nice to offer a home away from home to dog owners who’d like their loved one in a homely environment. I work from home (Mon-Fri) so my mornings and evenings are free so I've decided to only offer dog boarding. I get up about 7/8am, dogs are fed and then go for a 1hr+ walk around the Castle park. Upon returning home, they get a treat and settle into the office or a cosy spot around the house for the afternoon. The garden doors are open to come and go as they please. Quick evening walk around 6/7pm and generally lights out by 10/11pm.
Guests have full access downstairs and to the living room in the evening to relax beside the fire for a more comforting environment. I find dogs settle in quickly when they initially arrive, Oscar is extremely laid back. It makes for a calm and peaceful experience especially if this is their first time away from home. It's nice to offer a home away from home to dog owners who’d like their loved one in a homely environment. Your dog will be in a homely environment, treated as part of our family whilst you're secure in the knowledge that your dog is being taken care of! I send daily updates of photos and videos for the duration of your beloved companions stay.

About: I grew up with big dogs — my dad loved Caucasian Shepherds. As an adult, I always wanted a dog, but working full-time made it tricky, so my partner and I got a cat instead. After we split up, the cat stayed with him, and I’ve been missing having an animal around ever since. Now I love taking care of my friends’ dogs when they go on holidays. Pet sitting and dog walking is a great way for me to spend time with animals and get to know different breeds. I believe every one is different, just like people. It’s all about being patient and finding that connection. I’m currently studying and free most of the day — feel free to share your preferred schedule, and I’ll do my best to fit in. I can play with, feed, clean up after, change litter boxes, and brush your pet’s fur. I’m happy to send you videos so you can see how they’re doing. If you’re busy, I can also take your pet to vet appointments. Most importantly, I’ll follow your instructions and make sure your pet is happy, comfortable, and well cared for.

Lina is fantastic. She was able to come to our house while we were away for a weekend and look after our lovely cat Liam. She travelled for a visit each day to feed and mind Liam, and he loved her company. She was also so kind and watered some of our plants. I would strongly recommend Liam for all of your pet sitting needs!

This was such a good first experience getting a pet sitter, Katie was lovely both with us and the kitties, she was great at communicating from the start and even coming here a couple weeks before to meet the kitties. We could see our Kitties through our pet camera and through all the updates she sent us and saw how well they were cared for, we made Katie aware that one of our cats was a bit nervous and she spent so much time caring for her until she felt comfortable to come out and get her meals as normal, we came home to very relaxed kitties and a tidy home, couldn't ask for more to be honest

Kelsey just took my dog on their first walk together, and it went great! They were friendly, punctual, and immediately made my dog feel comfortable. I got updates during the walk, and my pup came back happy and relaxed. Excited to book more walks!

If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. You can also message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available by email or chat if you have concerns.

Of course! Many sitters on Rover are experienced in caring for multiple pets simultaneously, whether you have a pack of dogs, a clowder of cats, or a mix of both.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes dedicated customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement programme for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee, which provides up to €25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every pet sitter, walker, and boarding sitter on Rover must pass an identity verification before they can list their services. An identity verification confirms that the sitter is who they say they are based on their documents.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Kilkenny choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a key safe or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest vet. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorisation form for your regular vet. An authorisation form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into your regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When contacting your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
